On average is it better to walk to TTC to grab a bus to HS and AK or to wait at the Poly itself???
And also its faster to walk to the TTC to grab the monorail to epcot right?
Thanks

The Poly pool has a sitting area with jets - but it is NOT heated, or no more so than the rest of the pool (if it is). Just seating with jetted, bubbly water.

I believe Poly guests can use the GF SPA's hot tub, not the regular hot tub(s?) by the pools.

HTH!!

Alright. Thank you so much! :goodvibes

It's definitely faster to walk to the TTC to catch the monorail to Epcot. I'm not sure about doing that for buses to AK and HS. We usually drive to those 2 parks. I will say that when I did take the bus to AK and HS, I didn't wait long and the ride seemed to go fast. I think we had stops at the GF and Blizzard Beach along the way.

Just talked to my mom and she got our travel docs. today!!! :cool1: Poly here we come - well, in less than 30 days!!! Can't wait.

Does anyone know if you can have cookies or a small cake (or something similar) delivered to the room? I want to thank my parents for letting us stay at the Poly. If not, any suggestions are appreciated.

There is a "cake thread" on the restaurants board, with tons of info on ordering cakes in The World.

DLo, I see we'll be at the Poly at the same time, and I'll be travelling with DD10 and my parents...how funny is that?! What day do you arrive? We will be there the 9th - 15th, Garden View (requested Fiji, marina side, because we loved it there so much last time).

Thanks shyjade. I will check that out. we drive down from ga on the 11th - staying that night at POP. checking in to Poly bright and early on the 12th and staying until the 16th.

We requested connecting rooms in either Tahiti, Rapa Nui, or Takelau. We think we want to be closer to the TTC. This is our first time staying at the Poly - have eaten at Kona a couple of times. We can't believe we are finally staying here. My DS10 wants to stay at every resort once. I guess next year we will start hitting the EPCOT area. :rotfl:

I finally settled on staying at the Poly and am really excited about it:cool1: I have always dreamed of staying at the Poly and the CR and it was a tough decision but the Poly won out in the end.

I will be booking a standard garden view... does any of these have monorail views? I can't remember the name, but is there anything wrong with the building that starts with an A? (cant quite remember the name yet, but since we still have 20 months to dream, I am sure I wont need a map once I get there :-) )

I can't wait to be turned into a tried and true Poly fan:rotfl:

FreFam5 hope you're having a blast and that you fill us in on your trip when you get back:)

If you like to people watch from your GV room, I would not enjoy Aoteroa, but that would just be my opinion. I find something of value to any of the others, but would also not enjoy certain sides of some.

Check out the resort map: http://www.wdwinfo.com/maps/PolynesianMap.pdf and see if anything jumps out that you would dislike about a certain building. :thumbsup2

Questions,

1) We are going to request (through our TA) a standard room at the
"NIUE" or "Samoa".

In the event we do not get into either of those place and end up with a parking lot view ( We would like to be able to have a garden view),and get put in a building such as "Rapa Nui", is it THAT bad and that out of the way?
I just don't want to be disappointed.

2) How far ahead do the resorts assign rooms and can we call ahead to see where we are being place?

Thanks for the help! pirate:

They will not be able to tell you what room you are being assigned to until you check in. If you check in and the room is not available yet, they won't even tell you the room location until it's actually READY.

So there is no way of knowing ahead of time where you'll be assigned.

They do work on room assignments a few days before arrival, but that info is not released because it's subject to change at any moment and not guaranteed.

The best you can do is make a request and hope that it's granted.

I find nothing wrong with Rapa Nui, Tahiti, or Tokelau. Aoteroa is the only longhouse I would probably reject because, for me, it is kind of off the beaten path. Now, if you like that solitude, the parking lot side (for lack of a better term) of Aoteroa would probably be quite nice and you can watch the monorail glide by too.

If you do not receive one of your requested longhouses, try not to fret--there are other great ones to be had. I would look at the assigned room and decide whether or not it suited my purposes--you never know until you actually see the location. If the location didn't please me after viewing it--the Polynesian (and most of the Disney Resorts for that matter) CMs are usually good about switching.

If I was staying in a GV longhouse, I'd probably request Tokelau or Tahiti. Again, that's just me. :thumbsup2

Thanks. That is sooo cool! I never realized or thought about that ( never stayed at Poly before)

< you can watch the monorail glide by >

That benefit also goes for the parking lot views of Rarotonga and perhaps some of Rapa Nui--not sure on that one since I don't venture to the front of it. See, there's a bright spot for everyone--it just depends on your perspective! :yay:

Check out my new countdown:yay: A Poly lover is born :)

KTeacher so glad you enjoyed it! We stayed LVCL in May and had a fabulous time! Details, please (when you're ready of course :goodvibes )

Haven't had time to upload any pictures yet, but all I can say is we had a fabulous time!!!!!!!!!!! We were in a 1st floor LV room (#1507). All the staff we encountered in the Hawaii building were wonderful-we even received a thank you note from housekeeping for the tips we left for her:) . I knew I would definitely be staying there again for Columbus Day weekend '09, but decided to book a birthday trip in June for me and my DD16 -kind of a big birthday for me:rolleyes1 .

Questions:
How often are requests granted at the Poly?

How bad are the parking lot views? Are you just looking at the parking lot or is there plenty of vegitation to help block the parking lot?

Thanks...
