ARGH! Tikiman's site is down indefinately! (Lack of funding I guess) Can someone PLEASE remind me of which bldgs have balconies on all 3 levels and if any of those bldgs have 2 sinks instead of just 1? (Maybe the sinks are totally random?) I'm trying to put in my room request and not sure what to put.

We have garden view with 2 toddlers. Am PRAYING they give me a balcony. I think his site said that many room on Tokelau (I know I spelled that wrong) bldg have partial views of the lagoon, right? Plus that whole bldg has balconies, correct) HELP what do I request?!

Thanks!

I know Tahiti has balconies on two floors, patios on first with double sinks in the bathroom. You spelled it correctly, Tokelau, and yes, it does have some sideways views of the lagoon and it too has balconies/patios. I believe Rapa Nui also meets those requirements, but I am not certain on that one.

Gee whiz, I've spent so much time wandering around that resort, you would think I could answer these simple questions. I guess I'm not as observant as I thought and I've never stayed in Rapa Nui or Tokelau so I can't speak to the sinks. Sorry. . .

I have been looking for a pic of the Playground area... does anyone have one??

I have a question for Seaspray or anyone else that usually stays CL- I'm traveling with a friend that has medication that needs refrigeration. If our room isn't ready when we check in, is there a place that we can store her medication while we go to the parks? TIA :)

From what I have read... Poly does not have a playground. Just a beach and a small water play spot.

Also... not sure who asked about the sinks but what I have learned from this thread is that Tokelau does NOT have the double sinks.

BTW- I got into tikiman's site thru a back door somewhere. i will try to retrace my steps!

There isn't really a playground area with slides or swings or jungle gyms or anything like that like some of the resorts have. Most kiddos seem to play in the sand along the beach. And there are bench-seat swings there, along with hammocks.

My wife and I are going to WDW in September and just to get the Disney fix until then we've already been speculating about future trips.

Going through all the Disney resorts we decided that Poly was at the top of our wishlist. Just for fun I looked at what it would cost to stay there and I was a little disheartened.

I absolutely would love to stay at Poly some day, but it just seems out of reach. I can't imagine everyone on this thread is super rich. How do you do it? What are your tips for staying at the deluxe resorts without breaking the bank?

Definately not rich here! I'm just a single mom (so a single-income family) but I don't spend a lot on other things. I choose to spend my money on vacations instead of designer clothes, expensive nights out, etc. My home only has 2 bedrooms & 1 bathroom, and I don't drive a brand new car. Disney is our once a year hoorah; we don't go multiple times a year or to other vacation destinations.

No Maggie Moneybags here. DH and I are staying at the Poly in September only because we were able to get 30% off via a bounceback offer we received while staying at POR last fall. We have wanted to try the Poly forever but could never justify the expense. $238/night after the discount, plus a year to save up for it, made it a lot more reasonable.

I would venture to say that most of the posters on this thread are not paying rack rate for their stays. Various discounts come up from time to time, you just need to have your eyes and ears open. Good luck - I hope you are able to make your Poly dream come true, too!! :flower3:

I think lots of folks get pin codes(I don't know exactly what they are yet:) as Iam a newbie, but I hope to get one one day:thumbsup2 ) and also discounts from the WDW site (there was a nice end of summer one recently). Also people save their money, some get treated by generous family members, you get the idea, we all find our way to the Poly:love: our own way. I ALWAYS wanted to stay there and finally talked DH into it:banana: We're empty nesters so it took awhile. We took our 2 DS to WDW when they were little but stayed at the Disney Inn..that's how long ago since we've been!

FIRST AID

First Aid stations are found at the following locations:

Magic Kingdom -- Adjacent to the Crystal Palace off Main St. USA
Epcot -- Odyssey Center in Future World
Disney-MGM Studios -- Adjacent to the Guest Relations Building just past the Main Entrance
Animal Kingdom -- Behind Creature Comforts in Safari Village
Blizzard Beach--Between the Beach Haus and Lottawatta Lodge
Typhoon Lagoon--Adjacent to Leaning Palms
These locations provide a place to store medications or receive assistance.
(I found this at wdwinfo.com)

Well, ditto to those that are BROKE... (by the way, I am taking a money mangament class and it says that 70% of America lives paycheck to paycheck!! Crazy huh??)

ANYWAY... what we are doing, is doing a 'split stay'... which means, we will stay at Poly for a couple of nights... then transfer over to a value resort for a couple nights. Basically, we stay at Poly for the night before and after we go to MK to take advantage of the monorail... THEN we are moving to a value resort for the rest of our stay... HELPS OUT ALOT!!

For starters, make sure you're looking at Value Season. We book AAA rates to start and then keep a look-out for a pin code, AP discount, Disney Visa discount, any discount! It really helps to watch the Codes & Rates board here. :thumbsup2 I never give up hope of getting a lower rate until we're within a couple days of our vacation!

I don't enjoy fighting at all. It destroys our enjoyment of the thread. Which is why It was sad to see you try to start something on that other thread that had nothing to do with you.

Please keep sharing your wonderful pictures and reports, we all enjoy them but none of us appreciate a hypocrite. :)

I've found the most friendly helpful people on this and the other board. Everyone is so willing to help and share and Ive always appreciated it.

Touche M&pforever...
But I was actually simply standing up for someone whom I felt was being bullied and I was very straightforward and civil about it.

There are places to store items that require refrigeration, i.e., perishable groceries, etc. I don't see why the concierge CMs couldn't handle that for you if your room isn't ready. Your luggage will have to be stored if the room isn't available, so the bell services would be able to store medication as well.

Just be sure to let bell services or your concierge CM know what you need and I'm sure they will be happy to help you.

I'm rich in my mind. My bank account says otherwise. :lmao:

I'm a single mother and my DD8 usually go during value season. This Christmas is a fluke in that it was to be our only trip to Disney this year so we planned a split stay between the Poly and Pop. We spend a few days at Pop as we're hitting the parks really hard and then we check into the Poly to rest and relax. Plus I have a TA who really looks for room discounts for me as I am an AP holder.

Our Poly days may be numbered since DD8 has her sights on other vacation destinations like Los Angeles, France, Japan and China as in Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, Tokyo Disneyland and Hong Kong Disneyland.

MsStinkerBelle I'm with your DD in planning to visit Disneyland Paris:thumbsup2 I want to go on our next trip to France. Iam kicking myself for not going when we were in Paris in 2005. It is so expensive to go now with the exchange rate that I don't when I'll be able to talk DH into another trip.:) BTW Thanks for all your informative posts on the Poly..we're going for the first time next month and I enjoy reading all the info.

Thanks to everyone who responded. I really need to find out more about these pin codes. It really sounds like they're perfect opportunity for the more average of us to enjoy these more luxurious hotels.

At this point though, the split Poly/Pop trip sounds like a really smart idea and probably something to try in the future.

Thank you again.
