I'm staying at the Polynesian August 30th for 5 nights, garden view. My questions are as follows:

1. What are the odds of getting a Magic Kingdom view or Concierge level? :worship:

2. Which longhouse do you recommend if I can not get the above views?:rolleyes1

3. Do you recommend a "patio" or a higher floor?:confused3

Thanks all for your help.

Hi all you Poly Lovers. quick question for all of you.. I'll be staying there dec 10 thru the 19th, and was wondering about the TV there especially Sunday (football) I know its a wide screen, but do they have HD or is it regular tv on the wide screen. I normally wouldn't care but since we're going at the end of football season I know there will be sowould me great games on. And if not HD does the bar at GCH have HD? After getting an HD TV I'll never watch a game on normal TV. Thanks for any info on this.

there is space on the third floor that i never saw anyone use last week.

Shhhh. . .people aren't supposed to know about my private dining space up there. :lmao: We love having our breakfast upstairs so we can watch the news rather than Disney Channel. We've also been known to take our evening bite up there for the same purpose. It's quiet, comfortable and we usually have it all to ourselves. :thumbsup2

Just editing this post to let anyone interested know that AAA for 2009 are out! We just booked our 5/13-22/09 visit for GVC and for the first time in two years got a discount! :woohoo:

Tess-do you mind telling us the AAA rate quoted? thanks

Tess, thanks for the heads up!:thumbsup2

Are the kids comming this time, or are you finally going to have an "adults only" (I know your kids are technically adults LOL) trip?

I'm not sure I could get used to only seeing the 2 of you! :rotfl:

Tess: I agree; we don't want the secret out about that great third floor lounge area!!! :ssst: LOL I love it up there, and I love that large bathroom!

YAY on finally getting AAA discount on GVC for next May!!! I remember how frustrating it was (for both of us) to not be able to get it for this year! CONGRATS!!! :woohoo: :yay:

My trip for next year was initially going to be in May, but then I got word yesterday that there is going to be a group event in August!! It'll be a chance to see a lot of old familiar faces and to reminisce about the fun we had there in 2007. :rolleyes1 :cool2:

Hello everyone. I have been happily lurking on this thread for a few weeks reading all the pages. :surfweb: My DH and I are going to the World for my first time ever next October (he was there back when he was 7 and stayed off property). We were supposed to go this October for our 5th anniversary but due to lack of work here in Ohio he has been laid off since April. So we made an adult decision to postpone it for a year. So I decided to stop being an OCVP (obcessive compulsive vacation planning) person and stopped reading the boards. Well after a few months I couldnt stand it any more and here I am back feeding my OCVP disease. Lisa from Magical Vacations just e-mailed me to let me know that the 2009 rates should be released any day now. We are planning on staying at 9 nights Hawaii LV and then spending 4 night on the Wonder. I want to say that I have learned alot these few weeks lurking on this thread. Thanks everyone for all the input.
The pictures have been great, I choose a different one each week for our background, hope no one minds.:goodvibes
Seaspray I am so sorry about your dad:hug: , last week marked 6 years since my father passed on and I still cant believe he is gone. You and your family are in our thoughts and prayers.
I have one question so far, can you take the beer from the lounge to your room to enjoy?

We went sept. 21-29, 2007 during the free dining and it seems crowded to me since my daughter really doesn't want to be taken out of school for the trip next time :confused3 I guess we will need to go as soon as she gets out June 10th time frame...how do the crowds compare from sept. if anyone knows:idea: I was just curious. I would really like to stay at poly but at $399 nightly and little hope for discount other than AAA a little steep, but I'm still hoping...and searching:surfweb:

I'm going back to WDW on Thursday, but the Poly was booked! I loved, loved, LOVED my first stay in March so I was pretty disappointed. However, I'll be across the way at the GF, and made our first night dinner at Poly!!!!!! I'll be sure to take some pictures for you all!!

2009 packages are out. I am happy that Lisa can finally set up our ressies :cool1: I hope we can get a 3rd floor in the Hawaii building so we never have to shut the curtains, by DH wants to lay in bed and see the castle (should I buy him a princess outfit :goodvibes ). I would hate to get a patio room, I would feel bad for all those who went blind by seeing us at all hours with the curtains open:lmao:

If you're expecting a free upgrade at check in, don't count on it. The rest is up to personal preference.

I have a question for all you Poly vets:

When we were originally booked at the Contemporary, I bought one of those collapsable sweater holders to put in the closet, figuring it would stretch our storage space. (We seriously are not bringing a single thing that needs to be hung up!)

Do I still need it at the Poly, or is there enough drawer/storage space for a family of 5?

You have nothing to lose by asking. Your already staying at a what I feel is a great resort!
Good Luck

We're not sure if the "children" are coming or not--we'll have to wait and see what happens with their college schedules AND what they may be doing in the work area. This year our son was asked to teach a remedial course in algebra for incoming and current students who had difficulty. Unfortunately he had to pass because of our trip. I know he really wanted to try his hand at teaching and if he gets that opportunity again, I'm sure he would like to do it.

I will say that we booked in May to hopefully facilitate their ability to join us--it's just a wait and see thing now I guess! :confused3

If they don't go, it will sure change the look of our Pout Picture. . . :(

I'm so excited   My TA just booked my first trip to Disney!!! I've been researching since January and I'm so excited to have it booked :cool1: I know it's over a year away, but I can't wait to be at the Poly!!

There are only 6 drawers in the dresser at the Poly, so I would say bring it.
