I've read through most of the posts - and if I missed this answer I apologize for reasking.

The information here indicates that not all of the longhouses have balconies on the 2nd floor. But have porches on the 1st and balconies on the 3rd. But there are some buildings that do have balconies on the 2nd floor. Can anyone tell me if the Tahiti has a balcony on the 2nd floors?

I'm wanting to pay for a MK view and request the Tahiti longhouse. I understand from this thread that requests are not guaranteed - and it seems the less requests you make the better your odds (per some posts). So I wasn't sure about asking for a particular longhouse & a balcony if I'd be pushing my luck.

Yes, Tahiti, Rapa Nui and Tokelau are the newer buildings and all have balconies on the 2nd and 3rd floors. I would definitely go ahead and request the Tahiti building -- it has lovely MK views!

Hi....We leave for the Poly in a couple of days and we are just wondering what beverages you can get with the refillable mugs (we are specifically thinking about our children....is there juice?) Also, for us, is there coffee (I have heard that Disney coffee is terrible...what is your opinion of the refillable mug coffee??) I have been reading most of the posts on this board for months and you have all been so helpful in our planning....thank you. (....and I may have a few more question in the days before we leave )

Dh and I LOVE coffee, can't start our day without a cup...I didn't mind the coffee at the Poly at all...we had the refillable mugs and got our coffee first thing at Captain Cooks...it stayed hot in the mugs while we got ready for the parks and then we stopped for our second mug on the way to the monorail. I also bought a more fancy coffee from the Kona Coffee bar one morning...it was good too. Not D&D or Starbucks good, but I wouldn't say the coffee is so bad you have to give it up for the week...

I bring the coffee with us! D&D coffee and I make it with Dasani water. I like Kona Coffee also. To bad for the price of Poly. they don't put Kona in the room for you. THAT WOULD BE NICE

That sounds like a risky thing to do, leaving your laptop on the desk. But I may consider taking mine if it will fit into the safe. My aunt lost a pair of diamond earings in a hotel once. So I don't like leaving anything outl.

My daughter and I are so looking forward to the Kona Coffee. We my DH and I went to Hawaii for our honeymoon we brought some back. And now have it shipped to us once a year for Christmas. So oldest daughter has tried it and really likes it. So for us the perk of Kona coffee is worth staying at the Poly.

Does anyone know, specifically, what scent the H2O products are? I love their line in general, however there are a few scents that are just too strong. Figured checking ahead of time might help out with toiletry packing!

It is their Natural Spring smell. It smells really light. Sort of that 'fresh out of the dryer' smell. I prefer strong scents but this one is so lovely I couldn't find fault with it.

If you've ever used Downy's 'Jasmine and Water Lilly' fabric softner it kinda smells like that.

If your laptop is 15.4" or less, it will fit comfortably in the safe. That's the size of my laptop and I was able to fit two of them in there (mine and my godsister's). We also had room for three iPod Nanos and two digital cameras.

I would not, under any circumstances leave a laptop unsecured. At the very least, bring a cable lock for it. Best thing to do is to lock it in the safe.

maybe were just too trusting as in our stay in april we had connecting rooms with parents and dad just left his laptop all set up on the desk near the tv and there it stayed all week, no problem didnt give it a second thought.

Re. the specialty cruises, here is what Poly IPO sent me a couple of months ago:

Aloha!

The Specialty Cruises for the Magic Kingdom region are available for
pick up at any of the following resort marinas: Disney's Grand Floridian
Resort and Spa, Disney's Polynesian Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort
and Disney's Wilderness Lodge.

There are two types of cruises: the Standard Cruise and the Premium
Cruise. The main difference in these two is that the Premium Cruise
includes onboard audio of the soundtrack to Wishes. Both cruises are
booked by boat. Each boat can accommodate up to 8 passengers, and come
with onboard snacks (a variety of popcorn, chips and pretzels) and Soft
Drinks (Coke, Diet Coke, Sprite and Bottled Water). Additional food and
beverage offerings are available through each resort's Private Dining
Department, at an additional cost.

The cost is $225.00 for the Standard Cruise and $275.00 for the Premium
Cruise. For an additional $25.00, any cruise can be made a Celebration
Cruise, to commemorate an anniversary or birthday. The boat will be
decorated with a banner and balloons.

Reservations for Specialty Cruises can be made up to 90 days in advance
of the requested date. All reservations require a credit card guarantee
as they do have a 24-hour cancellation window.

Please contact us with your complete credit card information including
card number, expiration date, card holder's name and billing address,
and the date you would like if you would like for us to arrange for this
event.

thank you for the updated information. We did the Premium Cruise on our last trip. It was FANTASTIC! a definite highlight of our two week trip. Our party consisted of 6 adults (our two DD and DSIL's, my DH, our 2 grandchildren and I). Disney stocked the boat with so many different snack items and four different types of sodas. I ordered a specialty cake delivered to the boat. Disney bakery went beyond my expectations with the cake it was so beautiful and tasted great. They also included plates and forks (a nice touch). The onboard music really MADE our cruise; there were other boats on the lake that didn't have the speaker system. They would try and move over near us to hear our music. Our driver didn't want anyone bumping us, so he would move. The fireworks were so very special being out on the water. We had gone to the MVMCP on our first night and saw the Christmas Party firework show from the park. However, I booked for a Wishes performance. My adult daughter whose husband had just returned from Iraq came over to me sobbing tears of joy at the end of Wishes. She said she was so very thankful for all her blessings and that we could be a family together having this experience.

Our driver was extra nice and found a spot on the lake to tie-up (to something, I don't remember what) We all visited enjoyed a beautiful evening while eating cake and drinking dessert wine and soda. Our driver did not rush us at all; we were the last boat back to the marina. When we docked they insisted that we take all the snacks with us. Our kids enjoyed them over the next several days.

Hope I didn't bore anyone too much. I just thought I would share our experience for anyone who is thinking of booking a specialty cruise. It is expensive, however for us it was money very well spent. There is also a thread here on the DIS for people who have gotten a reservation and are looking for people to join them if they are a couple or small family. That is a good way to save money, enjoy the experience and maybe make new friends.
