When going to the TTC it's always best to walk there since it's a 5 minute walk. Yes you can also take the Resort Monorail there however it would take longer since it 1st stops at the Grand Floridian, Magic Kingdom and Contemporary before arriving at the TTC.

Hi My husband and I will be celebrating our 1 year anniverary at the Polynesian. Which building and or room is the best? How do you go about giving a room request for a special occasion? thanks!!

Congrats! :goodvibes

Personally I think either a lagoon view room in Tuvalu or a garden rooom in Fiji would be great. There is a second beach near both of these longhouses that is usually less crowded than the main beach at the Poly, and there are hammmocks there for relaxing and watching the fireworks. Plus the walkway over to the Grand Floridian (which is very leisurely and romantic) is closeby.

As for room requests for special occasions, I've always let my travel agent handle that. You can ask your TA to do the same or if you're not using one, just let Disney know when you make your reservation. Also politely remind them of your room request and the special occasion. I've found politeness usually equals pixie dust. :thumbsup2

This is the address on our voucher:
Disney's Polynesian Resort
1600 Seven Seas Drive
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32820

Hope that helps:)
..... and now I see it on previous page ...sorry

Currently we have a ressie for the POLY GV for 11/8 to 11/19 using our DVC points. I have been trying to upgrade b/c we do have more pts we can use but I am not sure we will get anything else due to the fact that they don't release much to DVC (non cash ressies). It will be myself DW, DD 4 and DS 2.
We have made our ADR's and will be visiting the parks via monorail for a majority of the time.
Best GV rooms please so thaty I can add a request to my ressie if I am unable to upgrade?
Thanks

Any suggestions???? Anyone?
:confused3

WoodysRoundup,

Would you please tell me about your stay at the AKV? We're are staying at The Poly and AKL in December. :goodvibes

Hi!

AKV was amazing....just beautiful. I would say that if you can afford a savanna view, it is well worth it. The lodge is gorgeous. The only downside for us was the remoteness of the area. We are more used to staying in the MK area......like the Poly!

I don't know if I can help you with the "best" GV but I have stayed in Poly GV rooms 3 times and every stay was great and every view was lush and enjoyable. Twice in Raratonga and once in Tahiti. And actually once in Hawaii, but that is CL. Tahiti is a nice location but I must say I LOVE Raratonga b/c you have a great view of the monorail whizzing by and you are also SO close to the Grand Ceremonial House, as well as the bus stop and your car, if you have one and are self-parked :thumbsup2
However a LOT of people request Samoa and I have seen pics on these boards of views from Fiji that are really nice of the Marina, etc.
Good luck. Hope you get some more answers! ;)

I have to put in a vote for Tokelau. The location is still close to everything and it has very large rooms with balconies on the 2nd and 3rd floors, plus some of the rooms you can see the castle from the balcony. I requested and got Somoa last year then saw my sister's room in Tokelau and wished I had gotten her room. Next time I will request Tokelau pool side for sure.

Another vote for Tokelau!!! We stayed on the third floor a couple of years ago and both the room size and location were wonderful!!!

How to get to the Polynesian and thanks for the address. Oh! one more thing how i get to EPCOT?

Or to take the long way (if you don't want to walk to the TTC), you can ride the monorail to the GF, MK, CR, then TTC. At the TTC get off the monorail and transfer to the Epcot monorail.

There may also be a bus to Epcot but I'm not sure, as I always use the monorail.

Just my opinion but taking the Monorail would take about 20 minutes, compared to 5 minutes of walking to the TTC. While there would be nothing wrong with taking the Monorail to the TTC, it does not seem that practical with the walkway being so close.

Also there are no buses direct buses to Epcot so the only option is the Monorail.

Thanks for clarifying about the buses.

I agree, taking the monorail to the TTC is MUCH longer...we did that in error last year (didn't realize how long the "loop" ride was). I assure you, we only made that mistake once. ;)

You're welcome and at least you made that mistake once and did not do it a 2nd time.
