On the daily activities I see that they have Hula Lesson on Saturdays. Are those kid activities or can adults do them too. My mom & I thought about doing them.

I came on tonight to locate the Poly thread but was dreading reading through the whole thing. I was so happy to see a new one that I can follow along with Just a couple of questions:

1. Terry, I love the photos in post 89. What time of the year were they taken and what kind of camera did you use. Tax time

2. We are a family of 5 plus an infant so do we need to request a certain room or are they all 2 queens plus the daybed?

It has always been my dream to stay at the Polynesian, and we will be staying next July for four nights. I am so excited! We reserved the standard room rate, but I have not made any special requests yet.

Which longhouse do you recommend?

We have two small children, ages 6 and 3 so we may enjoy being near the pool, or perhaps near the monorail (I like the benefit of being able to monorail back to the resort for a midday nap)...? Not sure, what would be best? Thanks for your help.

We've been staying at the poly since our kids were fairly young (6 months, 3 and 7) ... we're now heading back for our last trip next month and they're now 11, 14 and 19 ... time sure flies!)

My recommendation for you would be to get a first floor room at one of the longhouses that has a grassy lawn area for the kids. We've stay at Aotearoa (sp?) for our past 5 visits and have requested it again for this trip. We get garden view ... but I know they have some lagoon views as well. What you'll find when you request a first floor room with the little ones is you won't feel so boxed in (although the rooms are great size!). Especially for a little one who you might like to toddle around ... the extra grassy space we found was a god-send! It also made it so easy taking the kids back and forth to the pool if my huband and I were doing separate trips with them (ie: hubby would head to the pool with 2 of them ... I'd keep the youngest behind for a nap). No stairs to climb ... quick and easy.

Enjoy your trip ... for our family it's been simply magical!

Hey everyone,

I'm new on this thread but have been posting on the boards for a while and have been to the Poly more times than I can count. I almost always stay in a LV concierge room in Hawaii. We are thinking of booking a suite either at the Poly or the GF soon. I have been able to go into the Tonga building but the suites were always full. I was wondering if anyone has any good detailed pictures of the suites that I might could see? We need to decide between the Poly and the GF (both of which we have stayed at in concierge rooms tons and love) and just booking two rooms. It is really going to come down to the suite itself as to which we end up doing since we love the atmosphere and lounges at both of the resorts. Thanks for the help.

All rooms have two queens and a daybed. Suites have different configurations.

Thank you for the feedback, Martha...I was wondering about the ground floor rooms and being able to go out the patio area. That does sound appealing.

I am also wondering, if you or anyone can tell me if there is an outdoor playground area at the Polynesian. If so, does anyone have a picture? Where is it located?

Just wanted to introduce myself as I will be frequenting this thread over the next few months!

My daughter and I are planning a getaway week and are staying at the Poly. I stayed there once many years ago. I let my DD choose the resort we will be staying at as its her birthday gift and she wanted to try the poly.

Great info and great pics! Can't wait to read more!

Does the Kona coffee come to you for room service? I tried this stuff on our recent trip and it was YUMMY

Oh goodie!!!!! Do you know if you can have the yummy Kona coffee delivered to your room? I fell in love with this stuff when we ate at Ohana's breakfast. I drank 2 pots of it (DH helped)

DH's company put him at the Poly during the builder's show this week; he's checking in tonight.

Lucky me--I get to go and join him on Thursday for 2 nights at the Poly, followed up by a week at SSR. I've never stayed at the Poly before, but I'm really looking forward to it. Especially when someone else is paying for the room!
