What restriction does your MIL have that limits her to the 1st or 2nd floor? If walking is an issue, it really isn't that bad at any point in the lodge. It is a short walk to either elevator. Also, I am not 100% certain but I believe all rooms on the 1st and 2nd floor are either woods view or courtyard view. In fact I think I even remember that the standard rooms are 4th floor and higher. Perhaps another of the WL Vets will verify this for me. Also, if you try for a handicap room, request one with a tub if that is a concern, because most have the roll in showers. You will love the WL if you haven't stayed there already.

I finally did it! I booked a trip of 15 via very helpful AT. We are going to stay in WL 1st time!!!! I am so excited! Now, I just have to keep my figure cross for some discounts or upgrade!
We are going to be there for 9/23 to 10/3/04. Thank you for all of your help for planning this trip! I fell greate and hope MIL, FIL will LOVE WL as much as I will..... (BTW, they are staying DLX room so they better enjoy it. LOL!!!!) Thanks.

The reason my MIL has to stay on 1st or 2nd is for Mental issues. She has anxiety attacks, worries she can't escape from the building if she is any higher. This is my ILs 1st visit to WDW and I don't want her to worry about anything. I am really hoping my ILs discover the magic of WDW.

I am thinking about requesting a handicapped, 1st floor for her and FIL. She uses bars in her bath at home. Walking will not be an issue for her. She plans to spend alot of time at the WL. If she is in a handicapped room near Artists Point and Roaring Forks it would help with her diabetes. She could get food and drink quickly if needed.

We are looking forward to the WL. It is our 1st visit. Thank you for your help.

If she doesn't mind paying for a Courtyard view then might I suggest room 1027? Dw and I had this room the first time we stayed at WL almost 10 years ago and it was great. No more than 50 ft from Roarin Forks and AP was just up the ramp. It had a king bed with handicapped shower. Also, the balcony door opened to a pation on ground level and you could walk right off the patio and get to the pool without going through the lodge itself. Hope you and MIL have a wonderful trip.

Your going to be at WL almost the same time we are.I understand your excitement Our trip is booked 9/25-10/2. We booked a courtyard view.
Originally,I had wanted a woods view, but there was no availability for it when I called.I could have checked back and changed it, but now I think that we will really enjoy courtyard.

Hope to see you there! Well, my TA made a mistake and booked standard room. We wanted to Woods View. Don't know if I want to change since I already told FIL how much total was and I am afraid he would get upset with me if I tell him Woods view price.... Anyway, either room, we will be there!

During that time period the Lodge may not be at !00% occupancy so there may a good chance that you may receive an upgrade. Any room at WL is great so relax you're going to Love staying there.

Yep! We live about 45-50 minutes west of Atlanta.

Are you driving or flying? Flying is the only way my dh will go. He spends too much time on the roads with his job, and refuses to drive for vacation too.

Still trying to get a room May 21 & 22 I wished I had never changed my org reservations and just told the CM I would pay Rack Rate for that one night. Bother, some times I am too smart for my own good...but I can't remember last time I paid Rack Rate.
The Poly doesn't have anything available, nor AKL, but they do have a room at the Giant Toaster available. I will get back to you when I know I have a room somewhere.

It was taken at Vero Beach when we were there last October. It is our favorite place to go-tied with WL.

DH took it out on the porch where you can sit in the rocking chairs and listen to the ocean.

Have you ever been to Disney's Vero Beach Resort? It is unbelievable!

We were using a new camera so some of them don't have very good resolution. The Halloween ones are also from VB.

It's the perfect place for anyone who loves the beach. We could easily spend 2 weeks there without setting foot in Orlando.

VB is just so special to us. We actually get upset when we have to leave. It's so hard to explain but we just both love the beach and anything near the beach.

I could live at the VB resort and be very happy! Our kids love it. Every time we go, we are treated like family by the CM's and they stop to talk to us, give the kids little gifts and just make us feel like we are the only people there.

Can you click on any of the photos from our website? DH took them and they look wonderful on his Mac. Do some of them appear blurry to you? You really want one for a poster? I can e-mail you one if you like.

Any time I get stressed, I just look at the pictures from VB.

Yep I switched over to a code and received a new rate of $155.00 a night down from $283.21 the CM org said no codes where availible so I had her check each day...Saturday (the day of the race) had no codes avl so I changed my arrival date...until Sunday at the Lodge. Now I need to find a new home for a couple of days or just wait and arrive Sunday a.m.) But Majestic's last few days where going to overlap so we wanted to meet-up last September we where also at The Lodge the same time but I missed him and FloridaCat...So I am homeless now but I will make some MAGIC happen soon. Hope to meet you also FloridaFam.

Actually, the race is on the 23rd. You're talking about the Florida 1/2 Ironman, right?

It looks like a lot of people are checking out the day after the race.

There is a small chance I will be cancelling a concierge room for the night of the 22nd. Do you want me to let you know if I do? Maybe you can snag it. Is there anything available at WL on the 22nd? Or is there just nothing available with a code? I tried to apply a code to our reservation on the 22nd and it was not available.

I guess WL is going to be pretty busy that day.

Also, have you tried booking the code online? Have you tried travelocity? I saw Poly GV Concierge available for $340 in May. (the price with the BBY code)

So, as of right now, you check into WL on the 23rd?

I had reservations for May 21-29 at The Lodge...they just didn't have the discount codes available for the one night May 22, So I changed my arrival date to May 23rd. So they had room available just not at the Florida Resident Rate.

We are DVC Members but when I can get a great code I can talk my DH to take an extra trip or two, we are only a few hours away, and I am very flexible as to when we go.

It looks like you will be there for WL's Anniversary. I wonder if they are going to do anything special?

I've called more than once for a code on the 22nd. No go.
