I got an email this morning about this new Disney Main Street Online store. You're supposed to be able to buy things that you can only get at the parks. Has anyone else checked that site out yet? Do the prices seem inflated to you or do you think they run the same as they do at the parks?

karebear 1,

Could you tell me the web site? I would love to check it out!:D

I did browse through when I saw the site for that reason. I thought I'd pick up some momentos I thought I could live without while we were there..............they can stay there till next time. I can't remember specifically but in general everything I saw was inflated. I think mickey ears were about twice what they are in the park. I think embroidered with a name was about $25. I think they are promoting free shipping if that would help. Not that much available at the moment either. Clothes were to me very expensive. Basic mickey tee was something like $30?? Wish they would drop prices, I would buy if more reasonable. :Pinkbounc

I'd like to check out this website also - could you post the website address or pm me please

Thank You

I think they were selling the Pal Mickey for 89.95 and it is 49.95 at the park.

You can even get Pal Mickey on Ebay for less than $89.95!

Hmmmmm So what's the deal with this site? Is it owned by Disney or just by someone trying to make a huge profit? Seems like if it were owned by Disney there would be a link from the DisneyStore.com site. I think we're better off calling the WDW merchandising #.

On that site there is a page to click on if you want to b e a seller for them.... you can earn 6% if you do! So, that explains a 6%mark up, but what about the rest of the mark up? I was really hoping that this would be a real Main Street- with all the stuff they sold on Main Street -at MS prices. I am very disppointed! Won't be buying anything there, that's for sure.

Just FYI... this is NOT a site operated by Disney. Someone is reselling merchandise purchased from the parks, and adding a substantial markup.

It's easy to buy anything from Walt Disney World that you forgot or later wish you had purchased. You'll be charged the regular price plus shipping. Just call Disney's own Mail Order Department at 407–363–6200 and order over the phone!

I have never seen the PAL Mickey before and I just checked it and it looks cute!! How much are these in the park and can they be ordered directly from Disney?

Summerluvv - you can buy them in wdw for about $50.00 or you can rent them for $8.00 per day. Mickey is interactive throughout the park , but does very little after you bring him home.

Ahh..that's pricey!! Thanks:)

I thought the license plates weren't that much all expensive (some of the other stuff....yes!). In fact, I ordered one for DH he had liked in the parks but didn't want to spend the money on. Considering the no shipping, no tax and 5% off DIS coupon, it wasn't bad at all! :)

The prices do seem high. But the last time I went to Disney was in 2001 and I had a family portrait done. I wanted a frame for it, but decided that I would buy one when we got home instead of paying the high price. Big mistake! I couldn't find a disney frame anywhere. I figured the disney store would have one, but no!!!! So, I decided to pay the price and get one from this site, because I'm not sure when I'm going back again.

My guess is that someone saw how often Gifts of a Lifetime is recommend on sites such as this and thought they would move in on the territory. GOL adds a reasonable value added mark up but this site goes a little extreme...$3.50 antenna toppers for $9.00, $16.00 baseball caps for $29.00, and $22.98 for a VHS sing-a-long tape! I don't think Gifts of a Lifetime have much to worry about in the way of competition.
