The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Easywdw is reporting today that Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade is not running from Sunday November 7th through Saturday November 13th at the Animal Kingdom. At the time, the reason for the cancellation was unknown. Now, we know that Disney is introducing its Cottontop Tamarins to a new habitat surrounding the Tree of Life beginning the evening of the 7th. In order for the animals to settle in a little more comfortably, the Parade is canceled in order to keep the noise level down.

The (possibly) good news is that Mickey’s Jingle Jungle Parade will replace Mickey’s Jammin’ Jungle Parade beginning November 14th. The Christmas version of the Parade was originally slated to begin November 26th.

SWEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEET!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

:yay::woohoo::banana::worship:

Mind you it means I have to modify an ADR .. but it's at Raglan Road so I don't believe it would be difficult to shift it back a few hours.

I wasn't planning on spending an entire day at DAK though ... UGH!!! Mind you I realllly want to see the Christmas Themed parade!

missed 6 pages again. Had a scary health episode yesterday. I was sitting here on the couch checking my DIS and email and my heart started racing, I got flushed and my hands were shaking like a leaf. and my blood pressure went through the roof. I know that because I called the doctor's office and the nurse told me to check my blood pressure and call her back. I have a cuff because I check occasionally as I am being treated (successfully) for moderate high blood pressure. I am normal weight and exercise regularly. My bP was higher than EVER..... by the time my neighbor took me over to the doctor's office (which is about 3 miles away) and then the nurse took it, it was down to normal. The doctor is speculating that my morning coffee caused this... however, I'm skeptical because there was nothing unusual about my morning routine. Had a bowl of Fiber One with Lactaid milk and a cup of Gavalia Morning Blend that I made in my Tassimo. It had pumpkin spice syrup in it. Yum! The coffee was prepared and 8:45am and I drank it while taking my nephew to the dentist. It took me an hour to finish the cup. Morning blend makes a larger cup and by the time I add the Almond Breeze for creamer and the syrup and Nutrasweet, it fills my Resort Refillable mug, which I use every morning for my coffee. Anyway, this incident occured at 10:30am. So I'm not sure how its related to the coffee or how you can have a reaction to coffee when you normally drink a cup every morning. It seemed to come in waves. I would calm down, and then it would swing back up again. I didn't think to ask the doctor if that sounds like perimenopause symptoms??:confused3 I'll be 47 next week. My DH put the symptoms into webMD and came up with panic attack. Which, the doctor asked me if I'd ever had. :confused3 Again... to have a panic attack, would you not have to be worried about something? A similar thing happened to me when I was calmly sitting on an airplane on my way to somewhere once. Never had happened before and never since, and I, at the time, didn't really think that I was that scared of the plane trip. So I tried to relax and had the stewardess bring me some tea. And I was fine. But really... I was sitting here at the computer checking email before my planned trip to the fabric store and then Target. Nothing unusual. I suddenly feel like those people on Mystery Diagnosis. I was doubting my doctor.. like... yeah.. all these people on that show are told one thing.. and it takes 10 doctor's to get at the truth often over years.

THEN... if THAT wasn't bad enough...... I'm recovering at home and I hear helicopters hovering overhead. You all saw it on the national news. One of my neighbors a few blocks away, in my neighborhood!:scared1:was arrested for a terrorist plot to blow up the Washington DC subway. :sad2: Several of my friends were interviewed as that said "he was a quiet, good neighbor who kept to himself"....had a wife and small child... she ran a group locally called Hip Muslim Moms.. though she wore full hijab..:confused3

CRAZY!!! I need my DISNEY!!! FAST!!!

I do not want to scare you, although I do think you have done that to yourself already but when I was in my late 30's there were a few times I noticed my heart begin to race as you discribed, at the time I put it off as a sign of menopause, well at 39 I had a heart attack, and my primary care physican told me I should have mentioned those heart racing episodes to him, oh well at the time I was working full time, keeping a 9 room house, dealing with 2 teenage boys, yes I was stressed to the max being super mom who had the time to run to the Dr too :rotfl:
Last December I was hospitalized after waking up with my heart racing and my sugar was up , bp up etc etc.

I think knowing now what I do and having been through so much health wise, if I were you I would see a cardiologist, better safe than sorry.

I always drank coffee too and I tend to think as you that it doesn't make sense that would have caused it , although I do know once about 8 years ago when the high caffine energy drinks came out I bought a can and had drunk maybe half of it when my heart started raceing and I never did finish it or buy one again, so I suppose the caffine in the coffee could have been the culprit.

Anyway best of luck for good health from here on out :goodvibes

Oh as for the terroists, the first time they bombed the garage at the towers in NY I lived not far from
and worked with the ones involved with testing the explosives in the forest
You just never know anymore

When we were still going in November, I really wanted to see the Jingle Jungle parade at AK too and was disappointed when I read it would not start until Nov 26, I am happy you will get to see it after all :yay:

We hit the road Sunday, arrive at POFQ on Tuesday. I should be jumping for joy, right?

Let's see, our beagle is home from her doggie hospital stay and seems to be better than she has been in months. Lost five pounds (which is a good thing, she is fat) and is no longer on prednisone for a coughing problem, which seems to have gone away because of having less weight on her. She had another problem going on for months having to do with a scent gland (I won't post the words here because I'm sure they will get me flagged) that also seems to have gone away. All good things. Well, she hasn't wanted to sit and snuggle with dh for months, all of a sudden yesterday, she wanted to be in bed with him while he napped and in his chair with him last night. Do you know what this is doing to my dh? He's got his "girlie girl" back and now we have to leave her. (Last Disney trip was cut short by a day because he missed her.)

Dd next door is our pet sitter. Normally not a problem, but this time she is pregnant and having difficulties. She's at 11 weeks and has lost 30 pounds because she has been so sick. This morning she was too sick to take her dd to the bus stop (ten minutes away) so I had to run her down. She sees the doctor today and what he says may ultimately have an impact on our trip. There are other people who could help take care of our pets (dog + two birds), but she is closest for those 6 a.m. and 9 p.m. potty trips. And with all the issues going on with our beagle, she is the most familiar with what to do for her.

We booked room-only and I think that this is the last day I can cancel without a penalty. Both my dh and dd insist that I shouldn't even be thinking about this, but how can I put my fun and pleasure above dd's needs and the complication that the dog adds to the picture? Arrgghhhh.

Good Morning everyone!!!

It is a cool morning here in TN today!!! We are at 22 days..or 3 wks from tomorrow WOOHOO!!!!

:banana::cool1:

Today is our LAST day in the teens for the count down :banana:

Though I'm starting to worry I won't have enough time to pack now! I usually pack quickly and will do it the weekend before a trip - well that weekend is one of my roommate's birthday (he's 1 of 2 birthdays celebrated in Disney) and not sure if we're doing things with friends or not (I also plan on getting a hair cut and my nails done that day).

:cool1::cool1::cool1:30 days!!!! :cool1::cool1::cool1:

I look so funny next to all of you guys who are leaving next week or the week after. :lmao::lmao::rolleyes1

DD just found out that her supervisor was able to give her her birthday off!! She is very excited... she was having a meltdown yesterday so this came at a great time.... besides working 35 hours a week, she is taking 18 credit hours of college classes and studying for her GRE's.... she was just overwhelmed... we really want her to drop a class but she insists she can get it all done... sometimes I wish she would just relax and have some fun... she is finishing her BA degree in three years... she goes to school year round.. we were hoping that by doing the college program at Disney she would take a semester and just have fun!!!! Nope... she is crazy... I just finished tlaking to her and she is in a great mood... makes me feel much better... yesterday I was ready to hop on a plane... she was so upset... good thing for me she is able to get her meltdowns under control quick!!!!

I also called TSA at the Syracuse airport and no luck on bringing the pumpkin pie in my carry on... its considered a gel so they won't allow it...

I had to share this here because I know you guys will get it. WE are 3 weeks out from our trip. There was torrential rain this morning and I drop DD at shool while it is still dark. Well, While moving the car I managed to back it into a tree!!! My firt thought was "oh, no DISNEY!!" Well, the dealer says they my be able to just pop the bumper back in as nothing broke or cracked, the brackets just popped loose. I am taking it in after school today. Keep your fingers crossed for me! If they cannot, I am gonig to have to pay my deductable to get a new bumper. We can do it, but it is NOT what I want to deal with right before our trip.

I so understand about leaveing your dog, I worry everytime we board ours and call to check on her everyday while we are away. Just a thought , are you driving? Is it an option maybe to take her along and board her at the new kennel in Disney? That way DH could go visit her everyday and it would ease his worries somewhat. I board at my local Best Friends and they are wonderful with the animals, I always set up a playtime for our Bella and she loves it there.

CRAZY!!! I need my DISNEY!!! FAST!!!

I started having heart palpitations in 2001. Because my paternal Granmother died from a heart attack and my Dad had had a heart attack I went to a cardiologist. He hooked me up to a heart monitor for a week (I think...maybe less than that). The diagnosis was mitral valve prolapse aka a leaky heart valve aka heart murmur. It was very mild so there was nothing really to do for it. He just told me I would need prophylatic antibiotics whenever going to the dentist or having surgery. It rarely bothers me but once in a while I will have anywhere from a day or two to a month where I have heart palpitations. There have been a couple of times when I've had chest pain and gone to the hospital but it always turned out to be nothing. If I have too much caffeine it will cause palpitations.

Why is it people tell you one thing, then do another? :confused3

A lil history - We are renting a golf cart for our trip to Disney. At FW, everything is very spread out and in certain areas you cannot park a car so a GC is the way to go. Anyway, we are renting one from off property this time because it will save us right around $200 give or take few. Great right? :thumbsup2 The guy tells me they will send the charge through a week before hand and that he would call to let me know the charge was going on the card. That works for me!

Well since my arrival day is next Saturday, I was expecting the charge tomorrow (the last business day before the one week mark) and had planned on moving the money over to my checking account today. I don't know about everyone else but I live on a tight budget and payday is tomorrow so I did not have a lot left in the account. Well they decided to charge it yesterday without telling me anything and now I have overdraft fees charged to my account!! :scared1: I am ticked to say the least! :mad:

Had they simply contacted me first, I could have moved the money from our vacation savings and there would have been no problem. But now, I have fees I cannot afford to pay and will effect things we had planned. :headache: I called them and of course got a voice mail. And I am quite certain they will tell me it is not their problem. I would love to just cancel it all together, but at this late notice I doubt I could reserve another for that price and even with the overdraft fees it is still less than the Disney cart, but this just is not right to me! Unless they do something to make it right (because I am a firm believer you do not tell customers one thing and then do something else) they will not have to worry about me sending any business their way and I will make sure others know not to rely on what they say.

With everything else going on, I REALLY did not need this! :eek:

Uggg, I feel for you. When we got back from our last trip my DH got home and paid a bunch of bills online, tired. Our morgage didn't go though so he assumed he made a mistake and repaid several days later. Well didn't they both go though on the same day and bounced EVERYTHING! I was Christmas shopping and using my bankcard for everything. I even used it for a $1 drink at Target! Each had a $38 charge! We had over $700 in fees and the bank wouldn't give us any of it back. I have never gotten over it, it was like throwing $700 out the window. Still makes me sick. Hope it doesn't get you down too much. :hug:

Trackey75..that really stinks:confused: Look into an overdraft account. I have one tied to my checking account so I never have to worry about bouncing a check..also with my debit card, if there is no money in the account, it is declined.

Thanks! $700!!! :scared1: WOW!!!! That had to be horrible! Especially at Christmas to boot :sad2: Well, that definitely makes mine not seem so bad ;)

I guess what bothers me most about it is, we already had to cut back so much from our original plans and really really tighten down on our budget to still make it happen and this just makes it so we have to tigthen down even more. :sad1: Oh well, I guess I should stop complaining. At least we are still at a point where we can go (if everything wasn't already paid for though boy would we have a problem) and as long as I have gas money to get there and back I shouldn't complain.
