The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

Drum Roll Please................My first day plans have changed since this morning but I am done finished now after getting together with DS and DH and pinning them down on what was important to them, Ddil was at work but she already had put in her request to eat at 50's Prime Time on our DHS day so we are all set. Ok maybe there might be just one more change if I can snag an earlier ADR at CP for our MK day:laughing:

For our first day now arriveing MCO 9:14 , ME to AKL Late Breakfast at Boma's unless we arrive late, in which case we shall just grab a bite at Mara's.

Hang around the resort, visiting Kidani and the stores at both Kidani and Jambo and our night will stay the same MVMCP for DH and myself, HDDR for DS and Ddil

It feels so good not to have any plans still up in the air anymore.:cool1:

Just had to say reading all the posts about you that have kids about to go for driver's licenses brought back some memories. My boys were 10 years apart so by time I had finally relaxed over DS #1 having his license, it was time for DS# 2 to get his.

I somehow survived and you will too but I do have 2 funny stories , first one my DS#1 failed his first test, as I sat waiting for him in walked the tester coming up to me and asked if I taught DS to back up, then took me outside to show me my DS's rather poor attempt at backing into a parking space, he was a tad crooked, almost hit another car :scared1: and DS blamed me :rotfl:

I was teaching DS# 2 how to drive up at our local Industrial Park since it was not too busy after 5 o'clock and had everything you could want, stop signs, yield signs, streeets , parking lots etc etc , all of a sudden this police officer is behind us and pulls us over, we stop and he wants to know what we are doing, I guess he assumed we were up to no good prowling around the Industrial Park after hours  I explained to him I was teaching my DS to drive before taking him out on "real streets" the officer laughed and said then he was gonna get out of the way acting all scared to be around a mother teaching their DS how to drive.
:lmao:

We are arriving late on Friday night so it will be unpack and bed. We will hit the MK bright and early Sat morning for a full day!

We are arriving to WDW from our Disney Wonder cruise. We have to be off the boat by 9:30am, I think. We are renting a car(which I haven't booked yet!) and driving to WDW. I do want to go to the grocery store, but haven't decided yet if we go before we check in to BLT or after. Our room most likely won't be ready, but we could unload the car to make room. Any suggestions? We have 32 days before we leave and I still don't know exactly what to do about that yet.
I do know we ARE going to HS and see F! That is mine and DS must do!! I also want to see the Osborne Lights! Are those on every night?

So we got our ME package today...
Which caused a whole bunch of trouble since DS really wants to fly but we are driving. He thought the luggage tags meant we were surprising him with plane tickets!

Anyone know how many days out they mail the vacation package enevlope?

Why would you get a Magical Express package if you aren't flying? :confused3

We are driving also, leaving about 3 in the afternoon and driving through (may pull over and sleep a bit). We should get in to SSR by lunch. We'll head over to DTD for lunch and shopping while we wait for our room. Then a nap and off to MK and the MVMCP for a late night and lots of fun! Sleeping in Sat. and hanging around the resort for swimming, etc. We will head over to DHS in evening for Toy Story and Osborne lights.

Didn't I tell you the other day to STEP AWAY FROM THE COMPUTER? :lmao:

I get the whole having a plan thing. DH wanted to just wing it a few days at the end, and I was pretty much having panic attacks over it. With a plan, you know what to expect. Other then the unexpected. But atleast you have a plan of action and can adjust if need be.

Our first day plans:
We are flying in on Saturday evening and staying at the Sheraton near MCO. Early the next morning, we are taking the shuttle back to the airport and picking up the rental car, so we can drive to Winterhaven and visit my grandparents. My grandfather was just moved to a nursing home and my grandmother lives in an apartment nearby, so I'm not sure exactly how or where we'll visit, but visit them we shall! Then its off to do our food shopping and from there we'll drive to BWV! I can't wait to hear the first person (probably at the front gate) say "Welcome home!". By now it will probably be mid-afternoon Sunday and hopefully our room will be ready. If not, we'll walk around the Boardwalk. We've never been to Beaches & Cream, so maybe we'll have an ice cream. I'll let the rest of the family decide whether they want to go to Epcot Sunday night for dinner (we're getting APs so it won't be a "waste" of a ticket day) or to ESPN or Big River Brewing. We all like both.

We'll be there in 39 Days!!! :banana:WHOOOO-HOOOOOO!!!

I haven't received our DME tags. When should I call to follow up?

We're driving down, too (for our 2nd time) and right now the plan is to arrive by 5pm on 11/20. We'll just hang around SSR, eat dinner and call it an early night.

I did step away and then I had this dream or did I just dream I walked away :confused3

:lmao:

We winged it last year with the exception of the night we had ressies for HDDR and let me tell you I will never do that again being at the wrong park at the most crowded times with no place to eat is a nightmare :rotfl:

I am sure your son can not wait to get his license, it is such a "right of passage" for young men.
When my DS were learning they had to be 15yr 9mo to get a learners permit to go on the road.
They are talking about raising the driving age here in Ct to 18, in recent years I know they have passed laws that for the first year the new driver has to have a parent with them for the first 6mo and parent or immediate family member the later 6 months after getting their license and restrictions on what hours 16-17yr olds can be on the road.

Our first 2 days plans are on Weds. 11/17 drive to my aunt and uncle's house in Columbia, SC after work. We'll spend the night and get an early start on Thurs. 11/18 towards WDW. I hope my aunt doesn't insist we eat breakfast with her. I love her dearly but it takes her forever to cook anything. She will not let us help her. I may just bring several breakfast items with us. We are used to getting up very early and may tell her we are leaving by 6:00.

I hope to arrive at the GF by 1 or 2. It will give my DH time to relax before MVMCP. I hated to buy tickets for the day we arrive but we will make it work. I figured MVMCP would be much less crowded on Thursday than on Friday.
