The NEW Official November 2010 Countdown & Planning Thread ~ Come join us! (Part 2)

So, ok, it's almost 3:30am, and my DH wants to leave around 8a. I'm still gathering things together, and I need a shower before we go. As much as I hate to start this trip without being well-rested, I'm thinking I may just not go to sleep? DH will do all the driving, so I can always put the seat back and snooze on the road. I just worry that I'll be really groggy and dragging in the morning if I try to go to bed at 4, 4:30 in the morning.

Everyone heading out, have a magical trip! We are at 11 days. I go to pcik up our Girl Scout cookies this morning for my troop. It'a a small troop so only 58 cases, but with leaving in 11 days that seems like plenty. In the next 11 days I have to collect the money for 150 boxes and take DD8 to sell all the extras at Burger King next weekend. So that will take plenty of my remaining time. Also, yesterday we got a phone call from the electric company. They can't believe our electric is so much lower then our estimate (again.) I don't know why they won't alter the estimate, we are always below it and have been for every time we have had a reading for 15 years! I am really good about power, I don't have any on during the day (the house is bright enough.) I changed to all energy efficient bulbs well before everyon else. Anyway, they are convinced we are usng so much that our meter is flipping, which is insane, but anyone they are coming out for an "investigation" to see how many lightbulbs we use and stuff on Tuesday. :scared1: They will be in every room in the house so I need to get some organizing done. Nothing is dirty, but messy... I can't deny some rooms are. (5 people, under 1200sf, hard to always keep it perfect.) So that is this weekend. And packing.

Well have a great day everyone and happy travels to all our you heading out!

LOL! I love how they can't believe you don't use that much power... that they're actually going to come and check??? Yikes... :rolleyes1
And mmm, GS cookies... my daughter isn't in a troop anymore, not many active cadette troops here, and she's got a lot of other stuff, but I sure do miss the easy access to the cookies! :lmao:

Safe travels to all of you leaving and currently there! Have a Magical Time! And cherish every moment and make lots of new memories!

I had to laugh as I read your post about the electric estimate, I know one year I decided to go on the budget plan and they did the same thing to us at the time I told the person on the phone when given the monthly amount that it was way too high but he insisted based on the appliances and a/c units we had it was correct. At one point they even came out and changed our meter saying it was not working properly. I have never gone on the budget system again - Good Luck I hope they lower your estimated usage to a more realistic figure.

Poor you!! That is absolutely crazy! I personally, wouldn't stress over my house at this point--you have tooo much to do. If they want to check you light bulbs they should be looking 'up' mostly anyway:thumbsup2 LOL :yay: :cheer2::cheer2::dance3:1 WEEK:dance3::cheer2::cheer2::yay:

Well, hopefully today, since it's so pretty-dh and my older son can hang lights and blow out the garage for me...I am NOT getting in all that stirred up dirt-just make my sinuses go all haywire again..Plan to groc shop at some point today. Between me and 2 kids sick in a row, I have only been out of this house all week run uptown to our NP!!!! I gotta get out--we are out of bread and milk:scared1: Tragic in this house to have no milk:laughing:
So...I am hoping that I can get the last few toiletries and snax and Pack'em up!!!Won't do clothes til Wed at least...wanna keep an eye on the forecast.

one week til we get on the autotrain...8 days til we arrive in Disney
Everyone in my house is feeling good today:thumbsup2 I usually always scrub my house from top to bottom before a trip but this time I think I will just tidy and clean the bathrooms. I don't want to get sick from all of the dust either:confused:

I have only packed some toilletries and odds and ends so far. I packed a bag of surprises for the girls since I am decorating the room for them on arrival..I can't wait. I am going to get some Mickey heads from HOme Depot to put on the room door and have it say SURPRISE

I need to get with it, have not really done any prep! I took our shirts last night to get airbrushed the guy won't have them done until Friday. I really hate going to the "market place" as they call it but that is the only place I can find the airbrush guy. We are having matching shirts done for MVMCP. I will post pics when I get them back.

:cool1:13 days:cool1::banana: We went shopping last night and got some new clothes..Im going back today to get a few more things..LOL

Hope you all have a great day and those that are leaving or just left stay safe and have fun :)

I have had the doors and windows open to allow a breeze the blow the germs out the last 2 days!! well,...I lied..I did clean the bathroom!! Did some drawer/cabinet organizing yesterday...that and going thru the toiletries for the trip wore me out!!!! today looks better!! much to do!!!!

Popping in from POFQ. Brrr . . . cold today! We spent the morning and early afternoon at Epcot and I think we must have chosen the coldest place to be today. Our resort is much warmer than the park was. 60s and windy are the weather for Saturday and Sunday too, then up to the 70s Monday. If you are coming today or tomorrow, bring a jacket and long pants. Might go see Yee Haw Bob tonight at POR instead of trying to go to a park in the cold wind.

Brrrrr! Hope the weather warms up for you soon! Are the Christmas decorations up at POFQ? Are they playing the usual jazz or Christmas music now?

No Christmas decor here at the resort. But they are up w/Christmas music at DHS and MK. Kind of overwhelming to leave a park one day and there is no sign of Christmas and come back the next to be greeted by Christmas decorations and music. Amazing what they do overnight.

So I pulled out the girls clothes today and I think I packed WAY TOO MUCH!!!! Weather appears to be 70's during the day and 50
's at night. So I am thinking mostly capris and pants...tell what I have to much of.
This is what I have for each of my girls.
1 pair jeans
1 pair cargo pants
4 pairs capris
2 pairs shorts
6 t shirts
6 long sleeve t's for layering
2 hoodies
3 pair of pajamas
2 bathing suits, 1 cover up
1 pair each of sneakers, crocs, flip flops.

Now that I look at it, it doesn't seem like too much:lmao: it takes up a lot of suitcase room though;)

I'm doing laundry now for me and I'll pack my stuff tomorrow or the next day.

ha ha...edit to add that I just looked at the extended forecast again and it changed to be 80-81 degrees everyday with a low of 60...I guess I should stick to my original plan to wait til Wednesday to pack..

13 days for us too..even though my ticker says 12!

I was a shoppin' fool yesterday!

I got this hat for Hannah yesterday at Target:

I've been so devoted to my Disney planning these past few weeks (months!) that I've hardly noticed that Thanksgiving and Christmas are coming up so soon! All that instant Christmas is going to be disorienting for me next week. Last year we arrived at POFQ on Nov. 6 and the resort was decorated except for the tree in the lobby. Maybe they'll do that overnight, too, while you're there. :)

13 days!!!! We are under 2 weeks!
I have soooo much left to do, but the upside is that I just realized that i am off Thrusday but the kid has school, so I will be able to get a lot done then.

Thats about what I have packed for DS...minus the capris.;) I have a pair of shorts, pants, long sleeve shirt, and short sleeve shirt for each day. I figure we'll need to layer the shirts in the mornings. He wont be in the long sleeves very long and will be able to wear it that night. Thank goodness he's not a messy eater or I would have to plan on doing laundry while we're there.:thumbsup2 And we're driving so I can take the kitchen sink.:lmao:
