Theme is all about personal preference. I feel connected to the SSR theme because my great grandparents and grandparents used to stay at the real Saratoga Springs in Upstate New York on their vacations in the 1900's and 1920's and we have some really great photos from my grandmother's album taken back then that look ALOT like the ones hanging in the resort rooms. I find it a very charming resort. But then, I'm more turn of the century charm than futuristic shine (BLT). OKW had a nicely themed pool. We also found at OKW that there wasn't a good place to eat the quick service food INDOORS. We ended up eating breakfast at a picnic table by the dock, which was ok because it was October, but it would be horrid if it were summer! Saratoga has a nice indoor eating area with outside tables too.

Yes, absolutely. That is what is so great about Disney - there is definitely something for everyone! :goodvibes

I guess I'm more of a futuristic person. I would love to stay at BLT!! But I also love those beachy type resorts too - Love the CBR and OKW theme. :beach: When I'm in FL I want to feel like I'm in FL!! (Probably because I am from PA :rotfl:) Sun, sand, hammocks, and palm trees! :cloud9:

But it is my goal to give each and every WDW resort a try! :cool1:

Boy, a lot has gone on in this forum. I haven't read it since Friday morning. I just started a college course (homework & quiz both due on Sunday), my son had a Baseball Tournament this weekend, and I am working on my resume for a new job . My son's team won both games :cheer2:and the tournament continues this week. Doesn't it always seem that everything happens at once?

I just looked at my countdown ticker - only 3 months & 2 weeks to go :love::love:

I really have to join touringplans.com. My sister was there once in January and she called me from her cell phone to tell me that she was at DHS and there was nobody around! And that was during marathon week. What is Jersey Week? The whole state of Jersey goes? Why? Never heard of this. Our school are always closed the first monday and tuesday in November for election day and teacher conferences. Is this the same week. I've thought of going to Disney then, but 4 days is so short. We usually go to Colonial Williamsburg since its only 3 1/2 hours away. Your last comment has me worried. Before our November trip, we're coming down (a side benefit of taking my son to college in Florida) Aug 11th through the 19th! Last year we came down mid July and it was the time that teen tour groups from South America come and there were hundreds of groups of teens dressed alike and with a chaperone flag bearer chanting and shouting everywhere!! They were WORSE than the heat (which was pretty bad---but honestly.... its like 100degrees and super humid here in Northern VA today)

We also went in mid-July, it was worse than August because of the tour groups. It is very hot in August, but just make sure you have a lot of water. We brought from home qt size coolers and filled them with ice each day and filled it with the water from the soda fountain machine. We used our mugs we got from the resort, so no one would say anything to us. We also brought a small soft-side cooler and gallon ziploc bags and filled the ziploc bag with ice from the ice machines by the rooms. We used this cooler to keep the water bottles we got from breakfast cold.

I hope the 2nd week is similar to the first week!

However, growing up we always did July4th and I sure as heck know it's going to be better then that! :scared1:

The second week of November is better than the first week. It ranges from level 1 - 3, with a level 3 being on Nov 10 & 11. :dance3:

DS 16 is getting his widom teeth out tomorrow. He acts as if he is just going in for a cleaning.

Any ideas on what to feed him? I've bought: pudding, mashed potatoes, Zestas, ginger ale and MIL gave me enough cans of chicken noodle soup to get us through a nuclear attack.:)

You have the best bascis for teeth pulling. My personal favorite when I had teeth pulled was KFC mashed potatoes and gravy (the gravy helps it from being so plain) and their biscuits (they are soft enuff that they just fall apart and help you to fill a lil full a lil longer.) I hope all goes well.

Congrats to your DS! :cool1::cheer2: My DS's soccer team won their tournament last month and he was beyond thrilled. I thought he was going to sleep with his little trophy! :rotfl:

Good luck next weekend! :goodvibes

I'd get some ice cream!! :thumbsup2

We have backpack style coolers (they look more like backpacks) that we got from the University of Maryland Alumni Association (says right on it) for renewing for 3 years!! They're great. We'll bring those with us for August. It won't be critical for November. November weather is all over the place... I expect, like Nov 07, shorts during the day, jacket and capris after dark. Crowds weren't bad the week of Thanksgiving07 until the day after Thanksgiving, but even then, it wasn't as bad as July or spring break.

:lmao: I know! I was all prepared to have to tell AT just how it was, but then they were really nice about it!! :upsidedow:rotfl:

Messing with Disney time is cause for outrage... AT has changed our flights MANY times... but I did what Shelly did and called and told them that the change wasn't going to work for me. In each case they put me on a flight that would work.. it almost always was one that cost considerably more than I orginially paid...but never a charge to us.... Jet blue just changed our flights for our Nov trip... we leave 5 minutes later going down...:rotfl: but our flight back we get an extra 45 minutes in Disney!!!!:yay:

We are within and hours drive too but the cost of just parking for a week and the cost of the room with free parking , we just feel it is a better deal for us , even last year when we stayed in the city since we were flying out of JFK....I am usually so stressed out from doing all the last minute things, taking the dog to the kennels, packing and getting to the hotel, I hit the pillow and pass out, strange bed or not , bad thing is I can't doze off on the plane ride :rotfl:

With what they charge for leaving your car at the parking garages this might not be a bad deal... and if they shuttle you right to the airport even better.

Another question for the experts.
How is SSR? It looks beautiful! DH family said the buses take forever and that it is worth the extra $$ to stay at BC or BW. I need some help!

I have stayed at SSR and OKW... I agree with what everyone has said about OKW with the walking... there are some sections that its really a crazy long walk to the main pool and dining... you really need to use the internal bus. As far as SSR... I think it is a lovely resort.... but I didn't like the pull out bed at all... it was very uncomfortable... and while we had a great room for walking to DTD and the bus stop we were far away from the main pool and dining. I don't think I would stay there again if I had to pay for it... wait... I didn't pay the last time... thanks to my sister who is a DVC owner... the rooms are very nice though... and the boat ride is great...

My DD wasn't very hungry after having hers out.. I acutally bought her some of the large jars for baby food... like the Hawanain delight.. and the sweet desserts... she loved them...

We love traveling in November... but like some have said the weather can be all over the place... We usually pack some of those little stretch gloves from the dollar store and bring some underarmour cold gear with us to wear under our other clothes rather than bulky coats... it has worked for us...

My DS wanted straws for drinking, he was miserable and barely ate just drank and slept a lot from the pain killers
I wish your DS all the best

Great ideas. I'm going to mention them to DS.

Breast clinic called today and the radiologist wants to do another mammogram tomorrow. I told them I couldn't because of DS's oral surgery but I did schedule one for Weds. I could tell it upset my DH. He mother had breast cancer when he was in college. I'm trying not to worry until I have something to worry about.

You will be in my thoughts Wed, best of luck

I think maybe I'm feeling a little too well? :confused3 Not that I'm complaining about it and I wouldn't mind another day or two of DH waiting on me hand and foot , but I'm hardly even limping even without the crutches. Weird. The best thing today was being able to take a complete shower!

that's what usually happens.. then you move around to much and you get hurt!! take it easy!

I don't know. I had thought about it. But like you said, all the ADR's are already set. Plus I just wanted to try their pizza, hate to make an ADR for pizza.

i can finally get excited... we booked room at 40% off after getting a PIN in May.... however, we always had the option of cancelling.. My hubby isn't as disney crazy as i am, and he's been gasping at the idea of going kidless... Quick 3 days but still... :)

Anyway, I finally booked airfare today and bought Christmas Party Tickets.. So we'll be there from 11/17-11/20 and doing the party on the 18th.. !!
I have NEVER been any time except the summer, so I'm very excited for a cool/crowdless trip; and much needed alone time with Hubby .. will be so different without the rugrats.... Hoping for a bounceback when there so I can take my kids back in August ! My daughter is 2 and she is a very strong willed 2... so she really isn't ready yet...Hope by 3 she is!!!

Please don't worry! I just had the same thing happen to me. I was TERRIFIED because my mom is fighting Stage 4 Breast Cancer (and Stage 4 Colon Cancer) right now. They called me back, did more films, had me wait, did more films, had me wait did MORE films, then sent me to ULTRASOUND!!! By that time I started to cry!!! The doctor came in and held my hand and explained that they were just being really carefull and I had nothing to worry about. It was really scary, but ended up being nothing. So don't worry unless the doc tells you to. :goodvibes

I agree with Trublue... please try not to worry... there are so many reasons to need to be re-tested and we pray it all comes out well!!

Yeah...soft opening of that pizza place!! via...something... it opens Aug 5th through the 10th of Sept. as walk-in only. That means we'll actually have a chance to try it next month. If we get in, I'll let you all know how it is, because I won't be making an ADR for November as my DH loathes chasing around ADR's all day.
