Wait... I forgot where the OP was.. but someone asked for teen girl ideas. I highly recommend doing an afternoon high tea at the Grand Floridian's Garden View Lounge. It have done this as a girls only treat several times. We had little girls with us, so we dressed them up in Easter Best complete with bonnet and gloves. I wore a sundress. For a teen, a lovely sundress would be perfect, although not everyone dresses up. It just adds to the specialness and the decor really complements a dressy look. The tea is wonderful, for the adult ladies I'd recommend getting the Buckingham Palace service which includes champagne and strawberries. Otherwise, there are all sorts of options. There are alot of different tea choices. The tea sandwiches are tasty, the desserts are very yummy! The atmosphere is quiet and elegant.

She'd probably also enjoy the Beauty and the Beast show. When I was a teen, I really loved musical shows. Still do!:lovestruc

I understand Shelly... and had I not stayed at a deluxe before I probably wouldn't have changed... but I have stayed at POLY, AKL, OKW, SSR, SOG just in recent years and will be staying at Boardwalk in August when we take Maggie. We really love CSR but they didn't have any openings so POR is okay with us!!!

I forgot you are staying at the BW in August! That's awesome! :goodvibes

Keep trying, maybe something will open up at CSR for November. But if not, POR is great!

Today is the first day of our neighborhood sale... my goal was enough to make enough to buy the 5 MVMCP tickets I need... well I have done that and more!!! Its been a great day... despite the rain... I am so excited... tonight I have to get more "stuff" out to sell... my table are empty!!!!

Congrats ~ Glad your sale is going so great!! :cool1:

We are also going during Jersey Week (Nov 2-9) :woohoo: and according to touringplans.com the crowd levels are for this week in November are: 1st - 1; 2nd - 5; 3rd - 4; 4th - 4; 5th - 1; 6th - 2; 7th - 2.

What Does It Feel Like?
Level
10 "At noon you can walk down Main Street U.S.A. without your feet
touching the ground. Super crowded!"
9 "Plan on 20-minute waits for the bathroom. If this is a '9' I'd hate to
see a '10'."
8 "Yay for the touring plans! We only waited 10 minutes at most
attractions but the crowds were big"
7 "It was crowded during mid-day but the morning wasn't that bad"
6 "Crowded but manageable"
5 "Reminds me of when I was here in the '80s"
4 "Must be the warm weather keeping everyone back at the pool"
3 "Didn't really need the touring plan, we ended up riding some things
twice with no wait"
2 "Wow, its like we have the park to ourselves"
1 "Is the park even open? Mickey, are you there?"

I hope this helps you to make your decision. Last year we went Aug 15 - 27 and was crowded and VERY HOT.

I hope the 2nd week is similar to the first week!

However, growing up we always did July4th and I sure as heck know it's going to be better then that! :scared1:

Thank you. I think we will change dates and go the 7th thru 10th. My DS7 won't miss much in 1st grade if he misses 2-3 days!!! Bad mom!

I have taken my kids out a few times now for Disney and I don't fret over it. (Even with my oldest now in middle school.) First they all do well in school for the most part and second Disney can be educational as well as fun so I consider it a learning experience :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: Seriously, my kids have always been able to make up what they have missed and I cannot for one minute claim that it wasn't worth every second and every penny. Just enjoy!;)

I'm home! The surgery went very well, I'm resting now with my leg elevated, a big honkin' bandage and ice packs around my knee, still feeling kinda dopey from the anesthesia and I have the perfect excuse to spend lots of time catching up on the DIS this afternoon! Thanks again for all your good wishes, much appreciated. The surgeon ended up removing the meniscus because it was too torn up for a repair job, crutches and pain meds for a couple or three days, some PT and ta da..time for a little nap.

Glad to hear it went okay. I hope you will have a quick recovery!!

Hello All,

I will be in Disney from Nov 27th - Dec 2nd, and will be staying at the Coronado Springs. I am taking my 16 yr old niece as a present for being such a great big sister and helper to her two autistic brothers. I was in Disney last year during Thanksgiving week and had a great time even with the crowds, so I am sure that it will be an even better time with less people. I am just hoping the weather is nice, we had a few days last year when we where wearing gloves and jackets. Any ideas for how to make sure a teenage girl has a great time would be appreciated.

Well welcome aboard!!!! And how sweet both of y'all!!! Not sure what exactly she's into...my 14yo son just loves all of it! Maybe get a guide book and let her start picking some places to eat and make your ADRs...unless this trip will be a surprise?

Hi, you can add us to the list!!
YAY I finally talked my hubby into going this year!!

He & I had 5days/6 night in Maui in May to celebrate our 15th anniversary (In June but the prices were cheaper in May & the crowds less) so we'd said no WDW until next year.

But then FD got extended and we've always said we'd like to come in Novemer and see it all decorated up and dd's ballet performances happen to be before Thanksgiving this year instead of the week after so................ I convinced him with ya'lls talk of low crowds (hopefully less then what we're used to the last two times we've gone?), lower temperatures then what we're used to in September(when we've previously been there), and the same exact price as Sept. trip would be with teh bonus of FD being extended!!

So, Me, hubby, dd-10, ds-6 ( ds who is 13 doesn't love it like we do and has asked to stay home with Grandparents ) Nov 28-Dec 2 at POP with free QSDP.

So very good to hear you are home and all is well, good luck with the crutches, I have always wondered how I would fair if I had to one day use them, I am such a clutz as it is I would most likely break my neck

BAHHHH.. you guys talk too much! I can never keep up.. :lmao:

Summerlady - glad to hear you are back home and everything went okay.. :thumbsup2
on the school thing.. I take my kids out too.. well only 1 right now since ds3 isn't in school yet, but I agree.. at a young age, they can catch up and I would rather have a great vacation during a slower time than an awful vacation in the summer due to heat and lines :thumbsup2

I can't believe its the middle of july!!!:banana:

Awww... thanks for letting me stay! :flower3:

We're glad you're still here! :goodvibes

You're welcome! :)

Hello... It is I, your fellow November traveler, that is apparently the idiot of the bunch. Oh yes, I am a idiot. Because apparently I don't get that whole thing about following rules after surgery! Yeahhhhh.... popped my stitches in my belly the night before last. Lucky for me, it was only the outer stitches and none of the internal. I have to go back in on Monday to make sure that everything is healing okay because they didn't do anything to it. In the mean time, I am not allowed to move very much.

My girls come back from the beach tonight and I am pretty certain DD1 has pneumonia. This will be the last vacation they will be taking with my FIL. If it hadn't been for my DH, I think I would have already went and got them. DD2 called home the first day in tears and it was downhill from there. So, I am extremely glad to be getting them home and in their beds.

I am way behind on this post.... like 10 pages or so, I think. Maybe more. I have really only been glancing and random posting the last few weeks. I know I have missed replying to a few things I wanted to reply to. I have been mostly checking in via my phone. And it is having a meltdown I believe so it is really hard to respond from it. I promise I will be back and posting more often again....

I did see this! ............

Silly girl!!! I did the same thing when I had surgery and popped some stitches which then got infected...ouch. So take care of yourself and lay low again.
Sorry to hear about your girls vaca at the beach. Hopefully your DD1 isn't too sick and bounces back quickly.:yay:

Oh I hate to hear you are having such a tough time, it's just so hard to "take it easy" when you start feeling better, but at least hopefully it was not anything serious and just the outer stitches.

Sorry to to hear that the kids are not fareing well, fingers crossed their illnesses are not serious either, mine never vacationed with grandparents or anyone other than us but I know I would have most likely been worried sick until they returned,

Good Luck on Monday, Hang in there and get well , we miss your posts!

So very good to hear you are home and all is well, good luck with the crutches, I have always wondered how I would fair if I had to one day use them, I am such a clutz as it is I would most likely break my neck

I can't believe how uncoordinated I am with crutches, just crazy! I'm now using just one, can't do it with both of them. Feeling pretty good actually, got some super pain meds and tomorrow I get to remove the huge bandage and ace wrap over the top of it and take a shower...can't wait for that! DH has been the best...taking great care of me, but I'm anxious to be able to more for myself in a day or two.

Thanks to everyone for the good wishes, I really appreciate you all so very much.

Px4! Take care of yourself, girl! Hope all is well for you.
