Hello everyone! :goodvibes

I haven't been on here in a few days, looks like I missed a lot!

I hope everyone is doing well and still super excited about their trips!!

I have quite the update...

While we are still doing a mini DisneyMoon in November...DF surprised me...and we are going to the Magic Kingdom..

.............TOMORROW!!!..............

:cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Our APs came in the mail and he surprised me by saying that we should go and see the Electric parade before it's gone!

WE ARE GOING TO SPEND THE AFTERNOON AT MK TOMORROW!!!!

How FUN!!! You and everyone in the Orlando area..heck all of Florida are so lucky to be sooo close to the WDW!!

My kids loved Kim Possible, I have 2 boys 11 and 6. We only had time to do one of the adventures. It is actually one of the things my DS6 is looking forward to most.

Hmm. . . I really don't remember where I got that! :rotfl: Actually I think someone else posted it when they saw it on some other site and I copied it to the front page of the thread. And several people that got that Monster Pin said that it was listed on there as starting on the 8th. Someone posted a link to the Monster Pin awhile back. But no, it is still not listed on the WDW site and when I have called and asked when the OL start no one seems to know. . . :confused3

well thanks anyways...hopefully they post an official schedule sooner than say the week before huh?

I'm pretty sure it will up and on before Thanksgiving...it was last yr according to someone's pictures I saw...I just wish I could have a better idea of for sure or if any nights they lights won't be on...kwim?

keep to my Plans A and B for now then.

Here's what I think regarding Osborne Spec Lights... The time changes on Sunday Nov 7th so the sun will start setting one hour earler and that is why and when they will put the lights on because DHS usually closes by 7pm that would hardly give you anytime to see the lights in the dark before we "fall" back. And last year the started Veteran's Day week. So hopefully they will officially announce the same this year.

Yes, it would make me feel better if it was official.

Last year they started on Nov 10th. But last year DHS closed at 8:00 that week. . .

The cheaper fares were either at night (I don't want to lose a day on the way down - I want to fly in the morning) or they were not direct. The layovers are too long. I may have to suck it up, though. My husband's the shopper, so I delegated this task to him. :rotfl:

Hang in there. Typically the air fare fluctuates. I've been flying SW for several years, and no matter what price I've paid to start with, I've always gotten a credit because the price dropped!

I also got a pin and it lists OL dates as 11/8/10-1/4/11. Really stinks that my pin does not include the week of Thanksgiving when we will be there:sad2:.

Cyndi-Thank you! That is kinda what I was thinking when I was searching everywhere for an IMG code on snapfish and all I could find were links.

I LOVE the passport idea. We have never done that. I think we might try the Kim Possible Adventure while we are at Epcot. It looks like something my 12 year old and 9 year old twins might enjoy!

We did the Kim Possible Adventure in Jan and we loved it! My DD8 and DS5 did two of the missions but then wanted to do something different. I think they got tired of sharing the phone, excuse me, the Kimmunicator. So DD11 and I finished the rest of the missions, while DH took them to do kidcot spots. There are some really cute interactive things, and I think it was more fun and easier because she did not have to share to see what was on the screen. I think next time we will let each of the kids do one whole misson being in charge of the Kimmunicator, then switch off. And even if you do all the missons, you can still do them again because you don't do all the interactive things that are in each country, so you might have something different the next time you play. The kids are already talking about playing again.

Hello all! And welcome to our new members!

Sorry I haven't been around much the last few days, we've had a lot going on. We're leaving this afternoon to go camping for Father's Day weekend, I've been watching my nephew (9) yesterday and today, plus we'll have our cousin's daughter (18) and her friend staying here Sunday night after we get back from camping, so that hasn't left much free time for the computer.

I saw a few pages back there was a discussion of flying vs. driving. We live in the Baton Rouge, LA area and are driving. I've been advised by my other family members that it's about a 12-14 hour drive. We probably could do it in one day, but to ease the burden on DH (he drives for his work) and to keep DD from getting so antsy, we're splitting it in two. I have a cousin in Crestview, FL, so we'll drive the 5 hours to his house on Saturday, then get up early and drive the other 8 to WDW on Sunday. We hope to get to CBR around 3 or so, we've got ressies that night at Akershus. We'll do the same thing in reverse coming home. That Saturday we'll eat breakfast at Crystal Palace, go shopping & eat lunch at DTD, then get on the road for Carl's house. Stay with him again on Saturday, then finish driving home Sunday.

Regarding the issue of the Osborne lights, has anyone else noticed that the EMH at AK and DHS have flip-flopped again for the week of the 7-13? It's back to the way it originally was - Monday eve at DHS, Friday eve at AK. Thankfully, when they flip-flopped the first time and I re-did my dining ressies, I didn't cancel the original ones, so I'm glad I don't have to worry about re-doing them again. I think I'm going to hang on to both sets of ADRS for awhile until I'm confident the hours will stay put.

Sounds like you have been busy busy!! We have a full weekend ahead of us as well. We have a wedding tonight. A graduation party tomorrow. And then of course Father's Day Sunday. We'll have to see what DH wants to do for that!

No, I haven't even looked at the hours. . . So they switched those AK & DHS EMH around again??? That's weird. . .

:banana:Yesterday I got our SW flights!:cool1: I had to wait for that Visit Floridia code, but it saved us $125! I was just $2 over budget for flights.
I love Disboards!:lovestruc My DH keeps asking if I got my dis fix in today.:rotfl: But he doesn't complain much since I have already saved so much $$$ on this trip so far from tips that I have found here.

Yep. Hadn't looked at them in probably a month or so (my ADR date was 5/11, and I think the first switch was about a week later), but something told me to look at them again, and I'm glad I did. Double-checked my ADRs to make sure I hadn't cancelled the original reservations, and they were still there. All I can think is that maybe they put the PM EMHs back at DHS on Monday to coincide w/ the first day of Osborne lights?

Yes I noticed that yesterday when I went to check to see if the OL were listed yet. I had previously changed ressies for earlier times so seeing that I pushed our dinner ressie on the Friday night 40 mins later, I know we won't stay DAK till close if it is EMH but this way if they are open late that night we can take our time leaving , our dinner ressie is at our resort anyhow...but I wish they would make up their minds about the hours :rotfl2:

I totally agree! For us, changes in EMH mean changes in parks. (I've got us at EMH parks whenever possible in anticipation of DD needing to go back and nap during the day.) On our AK day we'll do breakfast at Tusker House, and on our DHS day we'll do lunch at H&V, so for now I'm hanging on to reservations at both places each day, until we get closer to the date and I'm confident things aren't going to move again.

which is why I am not looking at anything!!! I will want to change my stuff around if I keep looking...I will wait till closer to time..... I am still thinking I might change my days around a little bit...we typically do DHS on a Monday...I did it a different day this time...I feel like I need to go back and change it....do any of you tend to do a certain park on the same day of the week each time? I think though with the crowd levels being predicted to being so low, it doesn't really matter what day I do what!!! Hopefully!! I just really want to avoid any park that has an EMH time....I think other than that we are good!!
Packing: do any of you use those packing folders/sleeves or cubes? I think I am gonna get the folders for dh for sure...that man just hasn't mastered the art of packing...he tends to overpack and stuff is just horrid looking in that suitcase!!!! I love the stuff by Eagle Creek....I think it will help us get along a lot better if he has those!!!:rotfl: I stress over stuff like that and think about it everytime I walk in and see those clothes hangin out everywhere!!:headache:

I have used the bags that you zipper shut and roll to remove the air, my last couple of trips.(I have 2, I use one for tops and one for bottoms) I find them hard to remove the air from, getting weak in my old age  but they do save space in the suitcase.

Well, luckily I don't think the whole DHS/AK EMH thing affects our plans in any way. But the whole thing is very strange how they keep changing it!

I don't use any packing accessories. . . I have started to roll the clothes rather than fold them. It seems to take up a little less space that way!

Could you or someone on here tell me about the visit Florida code for Southwest and how to possibly get this?
