geez..I haven't been on here in a few days and there were a million pages to catch up on;)

I agree about the Grays Anatomy finale..that was crazy!!!

Some interesting news today..it seems we are going to ALASKA at the end of August...well my husband is kind of king of finding all things cheap..so he just happened to come across flights to Anchorage for 246$ round trip including all fees...he told his mom and she said lets go.. she is paying for our flights:thumbsup2 I am one freaking lucky girl:banana:

I am very excited about this...also nervous. Not sure if we can afford it, even with her paying for the flight..oh well I guess you only live once..guess I'll have pick up some extra shifts at the hospital.

Wow...a trip to Alaska, how exciting is that ! You are one lucky girl, Andrea !

I am officially "done" , I think with my ADR changes, I switched up two of mine yesterday from dinner to lunch after seeing the price difference between the two, I had ressies before at both places for 4:05 right after dinner started so for a change of an hour, not to mention F&W will be going on and who knows we might not want to eat or eat much anyhow whats done is done now :rotfl:
I do so hate this second guessing when your making plans and it is worse when you travel with grown kids trying to coordinate planning the daily activities while on vacation. I should be getting good at it , DH and myself have traveled to Vegas, and Disneyland and last year to WDW with our grown DS and wives but for some reason it is not any easier yet :confused3

My mom and stepdad took me, my brothers and sister, our spouses and kids all to WDW in 2006. Total of 14 people all together. They paid for everything! We weren't on the dining plan since we stayed at SoG. But, when it came to meals my mom clearly stated, you want to eat for free, then you eat on my schedule and get here when I say. And you know what.... we all showed up -early even! LOL

Are you only going to Anchorage? We lived in Fairbanks. I HATED it! If you like seafood, check out a restaurant called Sea Galley if it is still there in Anchorage. It is amazing! Talk about fresh seafood! If you make it up to Fairbanks, you have to try Chena Pump House, The Turtle Club and Two Rivers Lodge. My mouth waters just thinking about them! Also, alittle place called the Cookie Jar. Its sandwiches and fries, but so so good!

I love it, but I would show up too if the meal was free :rotfl2:

It was the night EMH they changed on my week, which did affect my tentative plans but I just switched DAK for in the morning on Friday instead of going later in the day or plan 2 now head to DAK the morning of our last day, it will all work out as long as Disney does not change too much more and mess up my schedule :lmao:

Yeah, we're there the same week. We're not park-hopping, and I want to catch as many evening EMH as possible in case DD needs to go back to the hotel and have a mid-day rest. I just swapped my Monday and Friday plans around, and since we won't have been at MVMCP the night before bumped my ressie for Donald's Safari Breakfast up from 9:30 to 8:30. Got the same 12:30 ADR at Play & Dine on Friday that I originally had on Monday. Assuming there are no more schedule changes, I am once again DONE!

We are flying into Anchorage...not sure where else we are going. My husband wants to spend a couple of days in Homer, Seward, and somewhere else that I can't think of...possibly do Denali national park...thanks for the tips, I can't wait to try the seafood in Alaksa:thumbsup2

Question about MVMCP: Is it possible to eat dinner at the Crystal Palace with the Pooh characters and catch the second parade???

That is awesome!!! I have always wanted to visit there. (We have even teased the kids that we are going move there, hehe.) Make sure to take plenty of pics and share with us when you get back.

Going by last years schedule I would have to say yes, last year the parade was 8:15pm and 10:30pm , the fireworks at 9:30pm

I guess the start date of November 8th is official for the start of the OL, it is posted on this promo for the Monster pin that is going out.(scroll to the bottome of the page)
But I do so wish they would update the DHS calendar.

That's great news!! :santa::cool1: I sure hope it's true.

I see it's not updated here either. http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/pa...s/osborne-family-spectacle-of-dancing-lights/

You could do dinner and do the late parade @ MVMCP, but if you can you should do an early dinner. We always do the late parade, and while people are at the early parade you can walk on to many rides. You are paying a lot of money for those tickets, so I wouldn't use any of the party time to sit and eat.
Andrea- My husband so badly wants to go to Alaska. I think we might do a cruise next summer. Very jealous- have fun!!
Is anyone else a DVC member?

Anyone have a good idea on which Pirate Party is best one. Have 2 DS's age 4 and 8 that love pirates.

OK, I've been working feverishly on my ADRs which I am hoping to make on Tuesday. Critiques welcome!! I am trying to find a balance (aren't we all?). We are also on the regular dining plan.

Arrive Sunday Nov. 28 -- MK, MVMCP (no ADRs)
Mon Nov. 29 -- Ohana's bfast, MK day, Mama Melrose/fantasmic package for dinner
Tue Nov. 30 -- DHS in morning, Epcot at night (No ADRs)
Wed Dec. 1 -- Epcot in morning, Boma for dinner
Thur Dec. 2 -- Tusker House bfast, AK all day, 1900 Park Fare for dinner
Fri Dec. 3 -- whispering canyon bfast, dtd t-rex lunch, MK til closing
Sat Dec. 4 -- no ADRs, leaving for home

Something occurred to me last night. This trip, it will be the first time in 30 years I have not went under the Magic Kingdom sign on my arrival day. Even when we stayed off site, we parked at MK. And when we stayed at All-Star Sports, we arrived that morning and went right to MK. It makes me sad. I know, silly thing to make me sad. It is like I am breaking a mandatory tradition!

DH told me not to even consider changing resorts again. That he would drive threw and turn around before checking in, if it was that important to me to go under the sign and threw the gate! LOL

Thank you for posting this! I have been wondering when they would start. As far as updating the calendar.....do you think they are going to extend hours? I know that they close at 7pm every night we are there except for one EMH night when they stay open till 10. I have just been assuming it's the night they stay open till 10 that we should plan on being there to see the lights?

Honestly I don't have a clue never having traveled in November before, I wish I did , right now I have planned to head to DHS on the Fantasmic Night and go see OL while it is taking place, since sunset is 5:30 (most should be waiting for Fantasmic, since it starts at 6:30)and I read they throw the switch about 6 for the lights. I have read on here on another thread that they usually route the people from Fantasmic over to the OL after they are over and then allow everyone to stay later even though the park is "technically closed" true or not no idea .......anyone know ???:confused3
