...and I'm making myself bonkers. I'm already booked for Nov. 29 - Dec. 4, the week after Thanksgiving. Now I'm second guessing myself (again) and am thinking about changing our dates to the week before Thanksgiving. I've been reading about the MK being super-crowded on the Thurs. and Fri. (after T'giving) because of celebrity rehearsals for the parade taping over the weekend, and how Pop Warner kids overran POR and POFQ last year and they begin to arrive a couple days ahead of Dec. 4. I've also been checking Jet Blue and Continental and airfares seem to be a bit lower the week before T'giving too. What do you think? HELP! :upsidedow

Well...personally? I was there on the 5th last year and we had to deal with the pop warner kids...I don't know about how many of them come in before that..they usually all come in together....we have been on the plane with them:the ENTIRE squad of cheerleaders...with just a few chaperones!!YIKES!
But, anyway, I would change it if I was that worried about it....that's one reason we changed ours from that time for this next trip....the CMs told dh that before thanksgiving is way slower than the first of Dec...

Does "Wishes" count? I love it! If not, I am going to go with "A Whole New World". It was suppose to be our First Dance song at our wedding. Had we not eloped. It fit our stubborn, we are getting married and leaving regardless of what anyone else says personalities! lol

WOW!! Do tell...!! So did you leave your wedding to elope? Or just did it before your wedding day? I was tempted at one point with all the planning and had a bridesmaid that ended up going crazy over shoes...so I was thinking..maybe we should just skip it and be finished!!!

Favorite song is HARD, I love so many of them...

I would probably have to go with "Part of that World" though.... as a matter of fact the entire Little Mermaid soundtrack ... I love all the songs. Funny that my daughter LOVES "Poor Unfortunate Souls" LOL

Originally we were going to go Nov 28th to Dec 5th staying at POR, then I checked flights and unless we left Dec 1st or later back in Feb Delta was going for over $1000 pp, then I read about POP Warner so changed to 2nd week of Nov since Jersey Week was the first but before I could book I rec'd a % off pin so we decided definately on Nov and AKL.
From everything I have read the park are not too bad during the day with the POP Warner kids you just do not want to be staying at the value resorts where they are or at the overflow moderate usually POR it seems.
I have not checked recently but I am pretty sure air fare will stay high and only go up as it gets closer to the Holiday travel time. I would say buy air as soon as possible I think you should be ok most boards on here say the first couple of weeks in Dec are good crowd wise and you will have all the Christmas Activities going on for sure, whereas I was on pins and needes waiting to hear the MVMCP dates and now have my fingers crossed that they start OL while I am there. Those are the two main things I wanted to do if I went in Dec instead of Nov.
Changeing now it might be hard for you to get the resort or catagory of room you already have booked

I love Disney Music but the first song that comes to mind is Beauty and the Beast, I use to play that cassette (dateing myself here) all the time , even taking it with me one year we drove down to WDW playing it and drove my DH and two DS crazy for 1200 miles each way:rotfl2:

Morning Ladies (& any Gentlemen!)
QOTD:

What is your favorite Disney song?

When I saw this question two things came to mind -

1. Zippity-do-da. It always makes me smile when I hear it

2. The whole soundtrack to Oliver and Company. I vividly remember playing this cassette and singing and dancing in my room

OK, I will give the long version to make it make more sense! LOL

My DH joined the Army right before he proposed to me. I was getting ready to start my Sr year of high school. We had been together since I was 12 and he was 15. 7th and 9th grade! So us getting married was a given. But that didn't stop everyone from trying to talk us out of it. They wanted us to experience life without each other since we had really never been without each other. But we were determined. No matter what anyone said, we were getting married. And the more they tried to talk us out of it, the more we were determined to do it. Go figure, huh?

We had planned to wait till Sept the following year. AFTER I had graduated. But, my DH recruiter came up to my mom and told her, if she didn't mind, and since we couldn't live together anyways because he was in training, she should let us get married before I graduated. So I could get on the housing list and get everything set up for EFM. Which is for people who have medical issues outside of the basic needs. I am a heart patient, so I couldn't go just anywhere... It took her a while to agree, but she did finally. Knowing it would give me a better chance at going somewhere with a good cardio dr. She agreed on April, I would graduate in May. I was in tech school for Cosmetology my Sr year, so I was already working on a career. She felt I had myself together. I am one of those old soul types of people. I could have gotten married at 12 and had a better marriage then most adults! LOL

Anyways, after the inital meltdown from my mom about her one and only child getting married before before she graduated high school and then coming to terms with it basically so my medical care wouldn't be slacking when we got to where were were going -right after Thanksgiving, my DH calls from Basic Training to tell us that he couldn't marry me in April. He had to go to another training and wouldn't be able to come home until leaving for his duty station. So in order for us to be on the housing list and EFM before he got his station, we had to get married ASAP. My mom flipped even more then the last time. We had bought EVERYTHING but the tuxes. I was having a Cinderella themed wedding. Everything in Royal Blue, Silver, and Sparkly! Then we asked what he expected us to do. And he said what about when I come in at Christmas. Like 3 weeks away! :scared1: I talked it over with my mom. She knew I wouldn't quit school and she also knew that I couldn't move in with him until at least June, so she agreed. The only kicker, we couldn't have our wedding. We didn't have time to get everything in. And every location we wanted was booked. So, on Monday Dec 22, 1997, me, DH and my mom (I was still 17, she had to sign for me!) hoped in the car and drove to VA and we were married by the sheriff at 9:15am! I was sick. And I am not talking, nerves. I am talking the flu. But I was determined I was getting married and it really was the only chance we would have. We were married in blue jeans and sweaters. I forgot the camera, so my mom went and bought a disposable camera. His ring wouldn't go on at first where his hands were so swollen from blisters from all his training. We all, including the sheriff, spent more time laughing that morning then we did saying our vowels. And to be honest, it was perfect!

But you know, still to this day, we have never got to celebrate our wedding. No honeymoon, nothing. We can't even celebrate our anny without something going wrong, him being in a different country or training or someone being sick or bringing home our first on our 2nd wedding anny! But like we joke, its telling of our life. And in 50 years, when we are old and grey we will have some good stories to tell!

That was such a wonderfully beautiful story, I had a smile on my lips as I read it and a tear in my eye at the end.
Thank You for shareing it with Us here

Subbing to this thread! We are headed to WDW on Sun., Nov. 28, through Sat., Dec. 4. First time staying onsite at Boardwalk Villas...so excited! Plan on MVMCP also.

Trying to decide where to make ADRs here in a few weeks. Thinking of Coral Reef, Biergarten, Boma and Ohana's for TS dinner. Then Sci-Fi for TS lunch and either Cape May or 1700 Park Fare for TS breakfast. Would love to know your thoughts on any of those!

:welcome:

We have been to Coral Reef. It was very good, just not our favorite. We've been to Sci-Fi a couple of times and love it. We will be going back in November! We did Cape May for breakfast once and plan to try it for dinner this time. And we went to dinner at 1900 PF once. The food was just okay, but the service and characters were fantastic!

I love Baloo - he reminds me of my husband :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

:lmao:

Morning Ladies (& any Gentlemen!)
QOTD:

What is your favorite Disney song?

I of course love every song that was written by the Sherman brothers! They top the list....and then the others all fall in right behind them! But...one of my top favorites would be 'When You Wish Upon a Star"...

tying with A Dream is a Wish Your Heart Makes

Awesome QOTD!! :goodvibes

First thing that came to my mind was It's a Pirate's Life for Me and Wishes! :cloud9:

...and I'm making myself bonkers. I'm already booked for Nov. 29 - Dec. 4, the week after Thanksgiving. I would definitely move it up if you have the option. :thumbsup2

Shop :rotfl2:Never too early to start :rotfl: Lots of time to find good bargains on clothes....I just bought 5 T shirts for myself today from the Disney Outlet and last week picked up a tinkerbell zippered Jkt for the trip, they have some great prices , lots of boys t-shirts too and you can take off an additional 15% with the code OUTLET15

I have also started shopping. I like for my two boys (11 and 6) to having matching shirts (not sure how much longer my older one will allow this, but until he puts his foot down...). I do it mostly for the photos, I make a scrapbook and the last few trips i've done a disney photo book, and they always look so good in matching shirts. I love to take pictures in Disney, I usually take about 300 on a week long trip. The kids actually know all the usual spots and stop and pose without being asked.
Anyway, I got some really cute shirts at the Disney store for 4.99. And right now they have adult shirts online for $8.50- a couple of really cute ones I might like for myself.
My favorite Disney song is "When you wish upon a star"

At the end of April, I bought 2 of those Tink jackets for the DGDs from the Disney Outlet, they're so cute! I also got a dark blue fleece hooded pullover with Eeyore and Piglet (very small, on the pouch pocket) for myself for only $7.99, down from, I think, around $40. The Tinker Bell jackets ended up being $9 each with a 20% discount I used from here: http://www.retailmenot.com/view/disneystore.com

I would definitely move it up if you have the option. :thumbsup2

I'm going to talk to DH when he gets home and run it by him too, I'm sure he'll just tell me to go ahead. I wish someone else in my family would do just a little bit of planning with me, good thing I have you all here. Then I'll call in the morning and see if I can change to the new week using my pin code discount. Thanks. :flower3:

Thanks for your help. I don't know if Pop Warner peeps are going to be at POR again this year or not, but the dates are just too close for comfort. I'm calling tomorrow to switch to the week before Thanksgiving and hopefully, I'll be able to use my 35% room pin for the new ressie, if not I guess I'll have to stick with the week after.

Does anyone know if Remy is still at Les Chefs de France??? I thought I'd see if you knew before I headed over to the restaurant board. I'm a tad intimidated about posting there.

My ADR day is tomorrow! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

Favorite character - a simple question w/o a simple answer. Gotta break it down:
Favorite Live Action - Mary Poppins
Favorite Mickey & Friends - Minnie
Favorite Pooh & Friends - Piglet
Favorite Princess - Belle
Favorite Animated Human/Non-princess - Alice
Favorite Animated Non-human - Duchess

Favorite Song - I can give a simple answer for this one. "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", for it's pure silliness!

My upcoming trip milestones: Tomorrow is my six month mark! Tuesday is ADR day! Woo-hoo! :cheer2:
