To all of you dealing with cancer in your families, I am truly sorry. I am a radiation therapist and see how difficult a journey cancer is. My prayers are with all of you.

My 3 year was diagnosed with asthma a couple months ago after battling frequent bronchitis and croup. It gets flared up pretty bad about once a month. Last night was a bad one. Breathing treatments every 2-3 hours. We are waiting on the pharmacy to fill our script for an oral steroid to help her out, yet again. Our older 3 kids (and my DH and I) don't have asthma so this is all new. We are hoping to get it under control before Disney. I would hate to have a flair up there. Although, I will be bringing the nebulizer and meds with us just in case. It makes me sad and worried to see her stuggle to catch her breath.

Poor little thing.... hope she is having a better day!!!

So I just saw my ticker and it says 66 days.... OMG where has the summer gone... DS starts his senior year next week... varsity golf already started... its going by to fast.... which is really a mix of emotions because I want our trip to get here so I can go visit Maggie but I want time to slow down because I don't want my baby to grow up and leave... okay... enough self pity for today...

So which park do you all like better for Christmas between DHS and AK? What about DHS's Christmas Parade (Holly Days) or AK's Christmas Parade (Jingle Jungle)?

I'm leaning toward DHS since we'll be there anyway for OL. I don't think we'll be able to do 3 parades (already planning to see Dream parade at MK). I'm not sure how "Christmas-y" Animal Kingdom is...I know DHS will have OL.

Thx!

How exciting for your first family trip! :cool1: I see your boys are the same age as mine. They are going to love Disney!!!:banana:

Right now..they dont seem as excited about the trip as myself and dh..LOL they are just ok whatever..but i think once we are on our way they will be super excited.

I thought I had all the the christmas celebrations and special happenings on my list and this is the first I have heard about there being a "Christmas" parade at DHS ? :confused3

I know the Christmas Parade at DAK will not start until after I am gone I think Nove26th perhaps??? not really sure

When does the one at DHS start? Hopefully while I am there since the OL start on Nov 8th
:santa:

I'm so sorry your little one is going through this. Our youngest has asthma (as do I) and had to be on breathing treatments for several years. But thankfully he seems to have outgrown it, he hasn't had any issues for about 3-4 years now (he's almost 9). I know it is very scary. I hope everything is under control soon and there will be no issues at WDW.

Sorry your little girl is going thru this...hopefully she'll be lined out by your vacation and even outgrow it!
well..just a few more days and I will be starting to get my list for small toiletries and snax--then start picking up a few here and there at the store!!! I bought some gum last week!!! one tiny item and it got me excited!!! LOL...I am starting my fall decorating...so things are moving along...anybody else decorating yet?

Thank you! She is doing much better this evening. I don't like giving her a steroid but it really helps get the inflammation down. We just need to find the right maintenance meds so we can prevent these flare-ups. She really needs her tonsils out too, but she seems too little to go that route yet. On a positive note, I got our "Countdown to Mickey Mouse House!" calendar made today while she was napping! Hooray!

Well, I saw it on All Ears and wdwinfo.com. Now I'm going to have to go back and check the dates. Maybe they stopped doing this. I know they did it several years ago...

Ok, it is official! I am obsessed! :surfweb: In the last 24 hours I have booked ME, paid off our airfare, and saved my shopping list on Garden Grocers. :rolleyes1 I figured I would start it now and add to it over the next month and then submit it at the end of Sept. I keep checking the delivery dates and Nov is still looking good.
Lots of excitement around our house.............My son made the Freshman Football team as their kicker. :cheer2: Not bad for a kid who has never played football before. He even beat out 3 other football players. Guess all those years of competitive soccer payed off. He made the snare line in the high school drumline the same day! :woohoo:
And...............my oldest got his drivers license. :drive: Oh my goodness, I am getting old! :scared1:

Wow! I've been away for a few days and had to read 8 pages! We were in NJ this weekend for a family reunion, which was a lot of fun. And work has been crazy. I also have all kinds of back to school meetings, etc. so my evenings have been packed. Glad to get a little Disney fix on!

I took this afternoon off from work to start back to school shopping. Even though the Kohl's receipt says I saved $64, I still spent $67 on one sweatshirt, one long sleeve button-up shirt, one short sleeve button-up shirt, one long sleeve t-shirt and one short sleeve t-shirt for my DS10. Did I get a deal? Can't decide, but he's happy, so i guess that is what matters. We also spent $48.50 at Old Navy for 3 prs of jeans. Back to buy shoes and school supplies tomorrow afternoon, plus start shopping for my DD12. Wish me luck!:lmao:

We'll be there November 9th offsite and going to DTD
November 10-18 Contemporary
Nov19-? if I can convince husband to stay a few more days, which is doubtful

Well I have started, in earnest now, my packing list. We had been planning on taking the crockpot and such to let food cook all day while we played and then come back to the campsite for dinner, but it dawned on me a day or two ago, if I just precook everything and freeze it, once we are at Disney it will just be a matter of reheating. Needless to say this will make my life a lot easier and cut back on the number of dishes I have to do while on vacation.

As well, I think I may have found a place offsite where I can rent us a golf cart for that week, at considerably less money then the ones you rent from Disney. :woohoo: (If you have never been to FW having a golf cart is a God send! FW is very large and in certain areas you cannot park your car, which leaves you totally dependant on the buses. But they have golf cart parking everywhere, so if you have one there is no need to wait to go whereever you want! :rotfl:)

Our new tent came in the mail and I think we will set it up this weekend to check it out. It is 20 ft long, 11 ft wide and just over 7 ft in height in the center. In other words, HUGE :lmao: Which should make it perfect for my big ole family. I will try to take some pics and post them so you all can see.

Well, now it is time to do some catching up on my reading here. I hope everyone is doing well. And may I just say woohoo as my ticker is almost at 1 month and so many days! :thumbsup2

I hope ya'll have a blast settin' up that tent...and yes!!! We need pics!!!! Good thinking on the freeze & thaw for vacation food!!!!

Thanks! We have camped a half of dozen times at least since we have been married and always used a two room tent, but this one is considerably larger (has three rooms, did I mention that in my post, anywho) so it could get interesting ;).
