I just registered!
I am so excited! Everything fell in to place that I can go and participate in the Princess Half!!!

My name is Amanda and I will be making this trip solo unless I can talk a friend in to joining me. I look forward to meeting some of you during the weekend. I am flying in Thursday and flying home on Monday morning. Wish I could stay longer but I am a college student and this way I can arrange my schedule so I wont miss any classes. (I will be in class that Monday night)

I am going to ask to join the FB group now. :dance3:

It will be a short trip for my DD and me too. We are flying in Thurs night and out Sunday afternoon, but I am so excited. Training hard to be sure to finish. Planning on my first 5K in a couple of weeks to judge if I'm really on track with my training.

Princesses!!! Be sure to check out the RunDisney FB page tomorrow--looks like they might be revealing our medal!! Looks like princess colors in the sneak peak picture. :goodvibes I wanna see some bling!!

Wow!!!!
Great job in finishing!!!!!

Thanks so much for sharing! An seriously? You are one TOUGH MUDDER!!! Way to go! :cheer2:

Thanks!!! It was an experience like no other. That's for sure!!!

I'm having some concerns about my knee (my IT issues) and trying to decide if I need to skip Hot Chocolate or not. I wanted to do it to get a time to submit but I am a little afraid my knee just isn't ready for it. I have a 10K in December I can submit at the expo but I really wanted to do this one. I just don't know if I would be doing more harm than good at this point. Between pain, Tough Mudder and rain, I haven't had time to really work my new shoes to see if that helps and I'm running out of time. WWYD?

Woo-HOO! :yay: I can't wait! Thanks for the heads up!

Did my first training session tonight.....30 mins (1 min run/1 min walk) and completed just a bit over a mile. Not terrible, but a long way from the 16 minute mile I need to get to.

Felt great after and still have 4 months to go to break that 16m/mi time!

We too are going to have a relatively short trip. Flying in on Friday morning and leaving on Monday evening. Just booked Victoria and Albert's for our Sunday night celebration dinner! I have always wanted to dine there and have always had kids along so this seems like the perfect trip to give it a try.

You are going to LOVE V&A! We did it on our honeymoon in January. It was the highlight of the trip.

I am jealous of you all-- we are flying in Fri night and out again on Sun night-- couldn't get any time off work this year.

Congratulations!! Sounds like a perfect honeymoon choice;) Which dining room did you do? I think we will just do the Victoria & Albert's dining room and not the Queen Room or Chef's Table - though they both sound incredible!

We just did the main dining room since it was our first time there. Next time we may do one of the others.

OK, I have a question about the expo. I have never been to one before. Is it an all day thing? Will I want to go both days?

Hi, ladies!

I just registered for the Princess 1/2. It'll be my first marathon. Prior to this month, I literally didn't do ANY exercise. I've gone through years of wasting gym memberships, exercise equipment, quitting fitness programs, etc. and gained about 35 lbs. in the last 6 years. I've been struggling with motivation. Even high blood pressure and my doctor telling me to exercise because I'm pre-diabetic didn't motivate me. But my obsession with Disney, which is unhealthy for my bank account, is finally turning into something healthy!

I'm currently on Week 4 of Jeff Galloway's 22-week training program and a long way from doing a 1/2 marathon under 16 min/mile but things have gotten better since I got outfitted in the right shoes and some awesome accessories (shin sleeves & hydration belt) at my local running store.

In the meantime, I'm also running the Castaway Cay 5k next month during our cruise. It's a good short-term goal until I get to the Princess 1/2!

Honest. Drop down to the 5K and do the Hot Chocolate just for fun.
It may be hard to get a good time in the 15K anyway with the crowd.

Showing your Dec 10K to get a better placement at the expo is super easy.

Hi there! I just registered for the Princess Half yesterday and I'm so excited too!!! I'm not doing the Galloway training program but I'm doing a training program too. It's 12 weeks so I'll have to modify it a little bit to stretch it out but assuming I can deal with these shin splints I hope to be set by time it rolls around. That's awesome that you're going to to do the Castaway Cay 5K!!!! I did a Dream cruise last year and I fully intended to do it but I didn't keep up the running so it didn't happen. :sad2: But not this time! Have an awesome cruise and enjoy the 5K - it looks fun!

The Expo....it is best to get there the first day and get what you want, stuff sells out. I can't think of a reason to return.
I'm going to post this video one more time, the first past has some expo footage. If you stop the video you can see many booths to buy shoes, running clothes, and there was free stuff too. I think this years expo was the best so far. There are also photo ops. Plan to spend some time to take it all in.

Your post sounds very familiar:rolleyes1 I am trying to use the Calloway program too. First run last night....made it through and felt pretty darn good. Gotta admit that I am a tad worried about 3 miles on Saturday but trying not to psch myself out about it;)

Glad to see other posting who are going through the same struggles...we can do it:cheer2:

I would just run as much as I can and then walk the rest but (and this is going to sound dumb) I would hate to end up with a really bad time on the 15K because I walked most of it. I'd almost rather not have a time for it. I know, lame...like me! LOL!
