This is kind of off-topic, but I can't beleive how big Ellery is getting. She's 6 months old and is wearing size 18 months clothes. She weighs 22 lbs!

Those last two she's modeling some more dresses I made.

AAAHHHH! Ash, I LOVE the last dress!!!! LOVE it! And Ellery is adorable. I can't believe she weighs 22 lbs!!! :rotfl: V only weighs 21, and she has almost a year on Ellery!!! :lmao:

Now, in all seriousness, what do I have to do to get that bottom dress for Vaylie?

After seeing Owen's room, I thought I would like to see other people's nurseries/kid rooms, so I'm sharing pics of Vaylie's room.

If we have a boy next time, we're in trouble.:rotfl:
(and sorry if these stay huge... I resized them but it doesn't seem to be "taking" on photobucket... :headache: )

Becky, Vaylie's room is cute!! I like pink and green together, and I love the hidden mickey! ::MickeyMo

Denise, I think it's great that you reached out to your mom, even though it's hard. Mo has a great mommy!

And I LOVE all the pictures of everyone's babies!

First I love all the pics of your nursery's!!

Ash and Jenny-Your little ones are so cute!!! Love the dresses :goodvibes And those little swim trunks are adorable ::yes::

Denise-I hope your Mom responds to you but if not at least you tried

Here is a pic of my Mom and her two new babies. After the year she had in 07 it does my heart good to see her happy again.

I haven't posted in so long....I have a lot to catch-up to!!

Denise...LOVE the pics of Mo! He really is getting so big and so handsome! I think that sending pics of Mo to your biological mom was a great thing to do and very nice of you. Like you said....to be able to look back and say you did your part is very imporant, and will be nice to be able to tell Mo. Hopefully your MIL will be able to meet Mo soon....I love how you put her on speaker phone! Mo will recognize her voice!! Oh - and we have a KozyPal shopping cart cover (http://kozypalcartcovers.com/store/Default.asp). I love how you can pick your own fabric - and they are super soft and big to fit any shopping cart!

Bethany - That was so cute what your DH said!! My DH will have random thoughts like that every once and while, and they take my breath away!!

Jenny - Great pics of Noah and Mickey and your DH! Looks like you guys had a great time!!! Did he like being in the Baby Bjorn? Brady loved it back when we went when he was 5 months old. By the time we go in September, he will be too big for it unfortunately!

Ash - Ellery is such a great model for your dresses. Hopefully I will have a girl next - and then maybe you can make me one of yoru beautiful creations!!

Becky - Vaylie's room is awesome!!! I love it - especially the hidden Mickey in the wall. Nice touch! :thumbsup2 You aren't in too much trouble if you have a boy - just paint the dots blue and put up new curtains and you are ready to go!! ;)

Nothing much new with me. It has been HOT HOT HOT these past few days up here in NH. We went to our lakehouse over the weekend (it has central air) and have been living in the rooms with window AC's here at our house. Brady has enjoyed playing in his little pool, although is constantly trying to climb out. I have figured out that by putting the pool on the grass, it provides a built-in gate. He really disllikes touching the grass, and as soon as he tries to crawl out and feels the grass, he picks up his hands and goes right back in the pool!! :rotfl: His 9 month (really 10 month, though) appointment was last Friday. He weighs 21.8 lbs and is 29 1/2 inches long - hard to believe in a couple of months he will be a year old!! Time flies!!!

He loved it this time. We went between it and the stroller so that he didn't get bored with either one. We actually borrowed this on since we had received the ergo carrier as a gift since he was big and it doesn't allow for forward facing in the front position. Well Noah is a nosey body and wants to see whats going on so that just wouldn't work. We are hoping when he gets a little bigger and can be on our back we can use the ergo carrier. We go again in October so we may try it out then.

At our last appointment the doctor made a comment abou Noah leveling off. LOL He went from 95% to 75% but he's still a big boy at 4 months he's 16lbs 9 oz. I guess he could be bigger since he started out at 10lb 7oz.

I'm working on my resume, and I just hate doing a resume. Really, aren't they kind of BS? I mean, I can make "straightening shelves at Wal-Mart" sound like rocket science work at the domestic violence shelter, if I use enough fancy language.

Ugh.

But, I feel like I should send one (even though it wasn't really requested or a requirement for this job I'm applying to). But, my work at the sexual assault center looks better on a resume than just in the "work history" section of the application. I have to get on this!

I need all the luck and pixie dust you all can summon! :rotfl:

I really want this job.

Just thought I'd share....the Jon and Kate Plus 8 where they go to Disney World is on TLC right now! :goodvibes

I am so wiped! I just got hit by the flu for the 3rd time this year, and haven't done anything for the past two days. I am so tired of being sick this year!

Ash - Ellery is so cute and so big! Alex is 16 months and weighs just over 22 lbs, but the boy is solid muscle, lol. I love the outfits you made for her - I want a girl to play dress-up with!

Becky - I hope you are feeling better! V's room is so cute! I love the hidden mickey! And I like the suggestion to paint the circles blue if you have a boy next time, that would be really cute! And get on that resume lady!

So I took the first step today....my biological mother who knew I was pregnant back when it happened has never called or responded to Mo being here.

Best of luck to you Denise. I am going through a similar situation with my father, and just reached out to him last week for the first time in over 3 years. No response yet......but I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.

I love watching Jon & Kate Plus 8. Love it. Even though she can be a bit of a hag sometimes- in all honesty, I would be too if I were the mother of 8 children (especially having 6 under age 5). Heck, I'm a hag now and I only have one kid. I just can't even imagine....

Yuck- I hear ya. My kidney infection is getting better. I hope you feel better! I'm taking ginormous antibiotics- can someone please explain why pharms think I can swallow such HUGE pills? Can't we break them up a bit? I would rather take two small pills than gag and choke on one huge one.

I don't know my biological father (I know who he is, and where he lives, but no contact my whole life). And when I got married I sent him a letter, because I felt like he had missed out on everything else in my life. But, I never heard anything. I don't even know if he got the letter, although it's never been returned. Someone got it.

Especially now that V is here, I feel like he's missing out on something so special. I know his wife denies my very existence, though, and I don't want to cause problems...

My situation makes me even more grateful that DH is such a wonderful Daddy to Vaylie, because I didn't have that growing up. It's a cool thing to see. :goodvibes

BTW- I finished updating my resume. It will be in the mail tomorrow!! Cross those fingers for me!

Ugh, I hate those giant horses pills! Seriously, isn't it better to be able to swallow the pill than throw it up from choking on it.

Sorry to hear about your father. I feel the same way about the part of your comment I bolded. I'll never understand how a parent can just walk away like that. My parents were married until I was 12, so I know my father, but he has since quit contact, b/c I "remind him too much of my mother."

Sorry to hear about your father.

Thanks, but it's ok, really. I mean, he never was around, so there really isn't much to miss. But, as a kid I feel like I got a little gipped... Whenever Mom said no, I couldn't go ask Dad. :lmao: Then again, I never heard "Wait 'til your father gets home" either.

And my mom, even now, has never spoke ill of him. She still thinks he's a good guy, really. Just a tough situation and they were both fairly young (my mom was 19 when she got pregnant with me). He didn't want a kid, she decided to keep me, so she released him of any and all responsibility. He offered to get married, but they both knew that was a bad idea.

So, I really harbor no ill wishes about him. I just think its sad, really- more for him than me.

I don't understand this in the slightest.

Wow, we're really getting kind of serious around here! Time for cute baby pics to cheer us up!

i will keep the cheerfulness going....Zoe, my leetle peanut sat up on her own twice!! She nor Sam have really been able to sit up, but lately she could balance for a few seconds using her hands to tripod. Well, she and Sam have both bee getting on all fours and rocking, and Last night Zoe kinda whipped her leg around when she was on all fours and got into a tripod sitting position. She did it again this morning and just sat there grinning for a few minutes!! How coo these babies are!!!!!!! :lovestruc :lovestruc :cloud9:

I am soo proud! And they were 7 months yesterday!

I know this is a new moms thread, but I thought maybe you would be the best group to answer my questions. My DH and I just found out we are expecting. :goodvibes :cutie: I am only 4 weeks along, so I haven’t had my first appointment, and I have a million questions. I thought maybe you guys could help me with a couple of them that can’t wait for the appointment. First, this is our first, and I’m 36 years old, which automatically makes it a “high risk” I guess. :confused3 I don’t want to be overly cautious or concerned, but I do want to be informed and healthy. So my questions are:

A lady here at work said I shouldn’t vacuum or mow the lawn (push mower) during the first trimester. I think it sounds crazy, and my mom said they didn’t change a thing when they were pregnant – if they wouldn’t have vacuumed, the house would be a disaster :) I usually just push the front lawn, and we want to mow tonight. I enjoy it….. is mowing okay?

Also, my DH and I fish tournaments together. Now I know being in the boat is fine, but with tournaments, you fish whether it’s sunny, rainy, calm or windy, and sometimes the waves get big (3 or 4 foot to 8 or 10 foot). I have no concern with the up and down, but sometimes if the lake is churned up, and the waves are coming just “right”, you can take some bumps and get banged around a little. How much of this can you take?? How big or hard can the bumps be safe?

One more thing – I read you shouldn’t eat bacon. I had BLTs two nights in a row. Is this true, or one of those over cautious things??

I might have to stop reading until my appointment when I can get all the information straight from my doctor. In the meantime, can anyone give me their experience or knowledge on the above questions?

Thank you!!! I’ll try not to bother you with too many annoying questions. :rolleyes1

First, Congratulations! party:

I will try my best to answer your questions, and maybe some of the other ladies can help out where I can't. Oh, yeah, there is also a "Mom's to Be" thread out there with ladies who are currently pregnant, and they may be able to help you even more.

I have never heard this before, but I know I personally would have taken advantage of it if I had! :rotfl: I'm sure that I vacuumed when I was pg, but I never had to mow the lawn b/c we had a townhouse. I think it would be considered similar to exercise, so most doctors recommend that you don't increase strenuous exercise during pregnancy, but you should be able to keep up what you have been doing, like jogging, or mowing the lawn.

I don't think there is a specific measurement to how much bumping you can take, but I would try to avoid fishing when the water is too rough. Although I'm not really one to talk since I went jet-skiing during my second trimester. :scared1: DS turned out ok, he just falls. A lot. On his head. But I think he gets that from his father. :rolleyes1

Ok, I haven't heard this one either. Where did you read that? Did it say why? I heard you shouldn't eat lunch meat b/c of listeria, but it is ok if it is heated, so that shouldn't apply to bacon.

Again, congratulations, and best of luck to you! I hope you find the answers you are looking for!
