One day when I went to get up little G. I discovered she'd pooped during her nap, then woke up and quietly played with her poop like it was finger paints! :faint: :scared: :crazy2: She'd smeared it all over herself and the pack-n-play...it was all over her face, in her hair, caked in her ears, all over her arms and legs and was soooooooo gross!!!! I told her parents I needed hazard pay after that! :lmao: They agreed, and gave me a gift certificate for a manicure and pedicure, deciding that a facial might bring up bad associations...

Ok, now that's gross! My mom says my little sister did the same thing and even wiped it on the wall! So gross! :crazy2:

AHHH! :lmao: Ok, now I'm thanking my lucky stars she didn't do anything worse!!!! :rotfl:

Man, she just woke up in a full-on temper tantrum!! I am actually thinking it is sort of funny, because I heard her crying and I went in to get her. Ok, I start to pcik her up and she slaps at me. Whoa, nelly. So, I open the shades and I'm talking to her and she is flinging herself around in her crib, being thoroughly pissed off (talk about waking up on the wrong side of the crib).... I pick her up, it continues, she is flailing and slapping me. SO, I set her down on her floor and walked into the living room.

She followed me WAILING. She even slapped our dog!! :rotfl: I was like, "Good grief, what'd the dog do?" She was just mad. She ran to the computer desk and knocked stuff off. By this time I was just laughing in disbelief. I picked her up, set her back in her crib, and told her I'd come get her when she could act like a "civilized toddler." :lmao:

SHe cried a few minutes more and now she's happy as can be!

Kids are so strange.

We just got home from a weekend at camp with Christopher. He did really well, for having his naps all screwed up, having to sleep in his pack and play (which he HATES), and a 3.5hr drive up and back. The only thing we found is kind of difficult is how get around between camps. It's all on camp roads (basically snowmobile trails minus the snow), so no one drives from camp to camp. Everyone has 4 wheelers, golf carts, etc. Not something I want to do with him. It's a bit of a hike when you have to carry him the whole way... But, if we can spend 5 days with a 13 month old with no electricity, we can do anything!!

He spent the weekend perfecting crawling. There's nothing safe anymore. :) And he had a blast playing ball with his Grandpa.

Becky - not the dreaded poop!!! I'm praying it never happens, but I'm sure it's coming.

Becky - Alex gets the same way when he wakes up sometimes, it's the strangest thing. It seems like if I go get him too soon after he wakes up it is worst. I think he likes to sit in his crib and get ready to be social for a few minutes.

Jen - I'm very impressed that you took Christopher camping already - you are a brave Mommy! Glad it went so well!

Ok ladies wish me luck I have to go out of town today for work and I won't be back until tomorrow night. I was doing real good with leaving my little man until this morning. DH will be fine but having to leave Noah was not easy. I didn't want to mess up his routine too much so I didn't wake him up when I came to work this morning so I just peaked in on him and said good bye. I just keep telling myself its good for DH to get some bonding time since Noah is starting to favor me more but I'm still so glad that this is not a regular thing for me and that I only travel a couple times a year.

Hi everyone. I haven't been here in awhile. We moved to FL last month and we are still geting settled.

Becky, that story is too funny. :rotfl: I was telling DH about Vaylie pooping in the tub and your DH didn't do anything because it was Father's Day. DH said he is a smart man.

jennyL, good luck. I feel bad running to the store without Spencer; I can't imagine leaving overnight. Be strong.

Here are a few pictures of Spencer:

Jen- hats off to you camping with a little one. You need to get a BOB stroller to get around in without having to carry Christopher everywhere. They are off-roading machines.

I'm not so much a camping person. My parents burnt me out on it, I think. But when Vaylie gets a bit older we'll probably give it a whirl- I'm not brave enough to attempt it now. :rotfl2:

jennyL- Good luck, and never fear- everything will be fine. The first time I left V overnight at my moms I was so worried, but she was fine. And then I was a little sad because she was fine without me.... :( But it's good for them to get used to other people, and it's good for you to get a little break now and again.

Amber- Spencer is adorable!!

Hey guys- long time! i am so super busy with work and William that I lost track of posting on the mommies thread----heck, i think i stopped posting on it in like Dec right before i went back to work in Jan. anyways- miss you guys- Hi Ash, Elaine, Bethany, Denise and others that were on the mommy to be threads. Is Carla still around- when was her second little one due?

so here is an update on me since it's been a while.

William is truly a blessing. As you know, we did fertility treatments for a year before going to IVF and luckily it worked the first time and our little angel was born oct 30th. He is almost 8 months now. I went back to work after 2.5 months home. He is in a montesorri that he loves and they love him. he is truly the best baby ever- so happy, laid back and rarely fusses. He slept through the night at 2 months in his crib upstairs. The first few months were hard, he didn't take to the breast, so i pumped for 2 months until i went back to work and now he is formula fed. We love every minute with him and as miserable as my pregnancy was, i can't wait to do it again, if it is an option for us (since we struggled the first time). DH wants to wait a few years though.

William is so close to crawling. he does the army crawl and just moves so fast that way. He loves his jumperoo and just started eating the baby food meats this week and tried bitter biscuits (what a mess!!). He is HUGE!! He weighted 8.6 at birth and now is 99th percentile on head size, 97th on weight and 97th on height, so he is tons bigger than kids his age. He looks like he is 12 months!! We are already planning our first disney trip in Dec 09, so a year and a half from now- my parents are treating us all to the Wilderness Lodge for 10 days in early December- he'll be just over 2. We cannot wait. I keep a blog for him- you can see it at

Spencer & William are adorable - such happy babies! :goodvibes

JennyL - I know how you feel. I travel for work too, but managed to avoid it until DS was 7 months old, but I was gone 3 nights. That is the longest I have been away from him so far, but I have done that 3 times. In a couple of weeks I will probably be gone for 4 nights. :( I hate being away from him, but I know that he is well taken care of by Daddy, Grandma, and Mimi (his baby sitter) while I am gone. And he always seems so happy to see me when I return! :hyper: Except the last time, he yelled at me when I walked in, then ran away. But came back less than a minute later and hugged me than sat on my lap sucking his thumb. :goodvibes

Hi all

LOVE the pictures -- what handsome little guys.

Michelle -- it is so good to hear from you ---- I was wondering how you and Will are doing! Glad to hear all is well.

Izzy will be 8 months old on Saturday. She too is big for her age. She loves to eat. As a matter of fact -- she tried a meatball (no gravy - rinsed that off) the other night and she LOVED it -- so cute and funny to see.

I can't believe how fast time flies!

Hugs to all
Nicole

Here are some recent Izzy pictures!

I am in the process of putting Sam & Zoes pictures online, if you follow the link in my siggy you can see them! Zoe is sitting now, and she is getting into a sitting position from the floor all by herself! Sam still is not sitting..he is too busy and would just rather roll everwhere!!!

i had to travel for work already as well.....i actually was almost on the road for 3 weeks straight it seemed.....Will and I both travelled to Columbia, SC in early March to see my dying grandpa. This is the grandpa that gave us the $10k to do the IVF which created William. Grandpa hadn't seen him yet in person, and was very ill, so I decided I needed to go and take the baby. So I flew alone with a 4 month old (what an experience!) and arrived at about 3pm and saw Grandpa. He had been taken off the ventilator the night before and had 'rallied' that night before we arrived. but when we got there, he looked awful- couldn't speak, but nodded and acknowledged we were there. about 7 hours later, he died with us all in the room praying over his bed. It is like he waited to pass until we got there, so he could see Will. A week after that trip, I then had to travel to Orlando for about 4 nights. Then the next week, it was Vegas for 3 nights. DH managed on his own just fine, although I was worried, since he hasn't been around kids much before. He figured it out. I did call a lot!!! and i missed my little man. I would go on his blog every night and watch his videos of him laughing, since i missed him so much. I also made sure work knew i could stay longer than 3 nights basically. I would usually stay 4-5 nights for these trips (tradeshows). But i cut it back. Now I am hardly travelling at all, so it is better. But it is very hard when you have to.

Hey guys, so glad to be back, i missed you! thanks for the welcome back!! Nicole- she is simply adorable- too cute on trying a meatball. i am so afraid Will will choke, so i haven't given him many solids.....we've done mashed bananas, bitter biscuits etc. But even the small part left on the biscuit he will try and stuff all in his mouth when it is too much. tips on what real foods i should start trying with him? is she crawling and into everything?

Denise- your LO is adorable as well!!! such a blessing to have such happy healthy babies!

DS loves those Gerber puff things. And they will disolve in their mouths if they can't chew them yet, which makes it harder for the babies to choke. Although DS still found a way when he was about 5-6 months old. It was very scary, but luckily didn't last long, and my mom was there to help so DS is fine.

I have some of those and will have to actually try them tonight. i just need to keep an eye on him while he is eating it. He really has the pincer thing down and can hold stuff really well.

i guess he just loves to eat. He shows an interest in when we are eating and especially drinking- he wants our cups. I've been giving him a sippy cup for a while now with juice, the one designed for infants to try but he makes a mess with it and ends up gnawing on the handle or bottom. lol

oh and at 6 months, he was 21lbs and 28inches tall. i can't imagine what he is now at almost 8 months.

Bethany sorry to hear about Owen's sleeping problems. I know how hard it is- I struggled those first few months when Will had his schedule switched and slept all day and up all night. it was killer. I think being a bigger baby helps Will sleep better maybe now too. He is teething and it is waking him up. we have tried to get a routine going and then let him cry it out some and it has worked. i rock him and feed him his last bottle at 7:30 or 8pm. sometimes he falls asleep in my arms, but i usually try and put him down awake so he can learn to put himself to sleep. I'll let him cry it out if he cries for 15 minutes or so. If it is more than 15-20 minutes, then i go get him. But now he doesn't cry much at all if ever. that first time of crying it out was NOT easy......it was like that Mad About You episode.

And usually he stops crying after a bit and then plays or passes out. Same goes for middle of the night- we stopped offering him a bottle months ago. Instead, if he is crying, i wait and see if he goes back to sleep on his own- and usually he does within 10 minutes. I noticed that he was starting to 'train' me to come up there, when in all honesty he was fine and wasn't hungry. If longer than 10 mins, i go up there and pat his back and turn on his music. I try not to get him out of the crib, I know he will expect that every time if i do. And i don't want him waking up every night expecting me to hold him or feed him.

It was hard to do, but now he does great and puts himself back to sleep, no bottle, no holding. Last night, he woke up at like 3am, which is rare, he usually sleeps striaght through from 8pm-7am every night. so i watched him on the video monitor and he cried for 5 minutes, then stopped and just played and rolled around. then he found the rainforest music thing and hit the button and it started playing and he curled up fetal position (he sleeps on his tummy since he learned to roll over) and passed out. it was like he knew the music would come on and he went right to sleep. it was too funny that he has the music thing figured out and he passed out immediately when it came on.

I'll hope things get better with Owen, I count my blessings everyday that he sleeps so well right now. I knonw that doesn't always happen and we just lucked out for some reason. hang in there and i hope it gets better for you guys- you are still nursing right? if so, how long do you ladies plan to nurse?!!!!!!

i have a friend with twin 2 month old girls who is nursing and plans to for a year!! what a trooper! :worship:

DS does the same thing, and has done it since he was able to reach the button. I love that Rainforest thing! :thumbsup2 Sometimes I hear the music go on in the morning before he starts babbling, so I know he is up.

I LOVE all the baby pictures! They all look so cute, and everyone is getting so big!

Thanks for the encouragement! :) We've been trying to do a modified cry-it-out with Owen, but unfortunately he's reverted to making himself sick when he cries for more than 15-20min (not to mention that the neighbors have commented that he's got a powerful set of lungs. I said you should try being in the same room with that scream...:faint: ). DH said it's like Owen's a 2 month old again with his sleeping these days.

Still, he's otherwise a pretty easy going baby, so I figure we'll deal with this and get through it somehow.

Yesterday we took Owen in for his 6 month photos, and he was a smiley boy! Here's the best ones in the unedited form - I can't seem to get the link to work to show the cropped and cleaned up images.

DH picked out this shirt for Owen 3 months before he was born. It was the first time he bought any baby stuff, and his way of saying that he was coming to terms with having a boy instead of a girl (DH always said he only wanted girls - no boys). Now of course, Owen has his daddy wrapped around his finger, and DH just melted when he saw the photos of Owen in his "special daddy shirt". :goodvibes

Being all Mr. Casual dude...

550039208_15.jpg
Our funny toe-grabber...we had a terrible time getting this shot because he either wanted to eat his toes or else he wanted to roll over! But this is my favorite from all the photos we took.

550039208_23.jpg
He was in fits of giggles when the photographer caught this one - his Nonna was saying "Ga!" at him, and that just hit his funny bone and he wouldn't stop laughing. I like this one because you can see his dimples!

Bethany, Owen's 6 month pics are adorable! I wish DS we could have gotten a decent photo of Alex at that age when they are so smiley and agreeable. But he was crawling already and would not sit still! So frustrating!
