Ya...I hear ya all with the whole clothing issue. I was a size 12 pre-pregnancy, and am now a size 14. You would think just 1 size off wouldn't be a big deal...but my old tops and pants/shorts don't have a prayer of being worn!!

When dressing up or when I want to feel a bit "thinner", I wear my Dr. Robert Rey Shapewear. Basically spanx....I got them at Sears. I always laugh at the pics of the women wearing them....like they need it!??!?

Oh I so glad I'm not the only one who is so not loving thier body right now!!! I was a 12 pre-TTC (between the stress and Clomid I put on 15lbs!!!) and was up to a 14 by the time I got pregnant. I bought a pair of 16 jeans because I was tired of pulling up my maternity jeans after Chase was born. Now some of my 14's are fitting again but not like they used to. I think I will stick to sundresses this summer. But then I need a shirt to wear over my top because I'm so pale skinned but I can't find any to fit my big flabby arms (WHEN did THAT happen :confused3 )

And just to get it out there....SWIMSUITS ARE THE DEVIL!!!! I was never one for a bikini but there is absolutly NO WAY I would wear one now. I am all for the swim dress thing.

I don't mind the stretch marks because I've had them all my life (except on my tummy).

I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one with bigger arms. I don't understand why the weight has gone THERE, I've been doing yoga, pilates, push ups and lugging around a 20 lb 5-month-old and the sleeves of my short sleeve shirts are tight. Don't get that at all.

I hope I can wear my swimsuit from before my belly got so big last summer. It's a tankini with a skirt on the bottom, but I'm worried about my flabby tummy.

I think that deep down I have a really great sense of style, but I don't have the funds or the body to pull anything off anymore.

:rotfl: Me too!!! If someone could give me a trainer, some lipo, and a serious wad of cash, I would look HOT!!! :lmao:

Alas, that probably won't happen anytime soon.

I went to the Galleria tonight (OT- but I am soooo sad my Disney store is closing), and found nothing. And my friend was of little help- she was on call for her job and of COURSE she got a call. :headache: So, we had to leave and I had not found anything!!!

I do have a dress that I wore to V's birthday party in February that I can wear. But, it's black and white and I ALWAYS wear black and white. It's what I live in. Black and white with the occassional splashes of red or blue. It's so boring. But, this late in the game, I may have no choice.

And normally I am against swimdresses (I generally think they draw more attention to fat than hide it) BUT- that one from Land's End is very stylish!! Not grandmotherly at all. Very cute.

V is staying the night at my mom's house and my home always feels so empty without her. :sad1:

I am **SO**glad its not just me -- I too have been feeling really frumpy and extra fat lately! I am an 18/20 and I am about 5 lbs off from my pre-pregnancy weight and while most of my clothes fit me again -- I feel like my stomach is horrible and bigger and flabby -- sometimes I think it looks like I am pregnant again with this big tummy -- I HATE it!!

Plus -- I have my regular jeans and my "fat jeans" that are either bigger or one size up and lately (even though my regular jeans are fitting) my fat jeans feel tight -- which is freaking me out!!!!

We bought a treadmill and I was so good on it at first but haven't used it in 3 weeks -- no motivation at all!

And I rarely go clothes shopping now -- I would rather shop for Izzy since everything looks good and cute on her!!

Glad to hear I am not alone!

Hugs,
Nicole

I went to Ross today, anyone have those stores? Anyway, they have the best prices. I bought myself three shirts and a skirt and Ellery two outfits and it was only like $40. I couldn't beleive it! Everything I got for myself was black though, I need some color.

Okay, DH does NOT understand the whispered urgency of "honey, we need to head home NOW. I'm leaking!" :scared:

We were at one of his college reunion events today, and all of a sudden I started leaking...and realized that I hadn't nursed Owen or pumped in the last 6 hours (we'd been giving him bottles since we were out and about and there were no good nursing locations). Now, it was a casual picnic event, we'd been there for nearly 3 hours already, and we live 10 min. away at most. The picnic was scheduled to end in less than 30 min., and it was past Owen's naptime, so I didn't think it was unreasonable of me to ask him to head home.

I told him I was leaking and we needed to go home, and he said "Okay, dear" and then proceeded to talk to his friends for another 5 min., while I'm desperately trying to figure out if I can discreetly change my nursing pads in the middle of all this and debating if I should wake Owen up to nurse and can I find a place to nurse him and will he nurse at all anyway since he had a bottle 45 min ago....

So I said to him again, "we have to go. I'M LEAKING!" And he again says "Okay, sweetie, I heard you. We'll go." And turns back to his friends... :headache:

At that point I told him to give me the car key and that Owen and I were going to go sit in the car with the AC blaring until he was ready to go, seeing as how the entire front of my shirt was soaked and I was wearing a jacket over the top of it and it was 97 degrees in the shade!

That was when he woke up and realized that it was time to go... :rolleyes1

I'm quite proud of myself, though. I managed to stay calm and not snap at DH, and just explained that in the future when I say "we need to go because I'm leaking" that it means we need to leave immediately, not in 20 minutes or even 5 minutes. I told him that it's not only uncomfortable, but also embarassing, and I need him to help me out by responding promptly next time.

He was a little defensive, but also appologetic and has since given me a bag of Ghiradelli chocolate from his box o'gifts as an "I'm sorry" peace offering! :rotfl:

Awesome! I love deals like that! I just hit the Salvation Army store and scored 7 pairs of shorts in my post-baby size for less than $25! :cool1: And only two of them have elastic waistbands... ;) :lmao:

I think I need to get a new haircut to help me feel more like a "hot mama" instead of a "melting mommy". Maybe that would help.

Well, my wedding outfit actually turned out kinda cute. I at least felt comfortable. And Spanx are my new best friend! Comfy and smoothed out all my lumps and bumps. I wore an orange cami with a white sweater and black skirt. And I actually bought a necklace!

AND- I'm totally PO'd at Britax. They just came out with a Cowmooflauge Diplomat!! Why couldn't they have had it a few months ago? Now I already have two carseats but I really, really wanted the cowmooflauge and when I got my seats that pattern was only on the Marathon. Now it's everywhere. :headache:

Oh well. Guess there are worse things in life, right?

Becky, I like the outfit! You look great! :goodvibes That orange looks awesome on you, and I love the necklace with it.

Bummer on the Cowmooflauge...

I know what you mean about the sleeves. It seems like any short sleeve top I try on lately is too tight on the arms, but still sometimes too big on the shoulders and/or chest area. Do all women who haven't had babies have enormous chests and tiny arms?!? And I'm not that small in either area. I felt like clothes fit me better when I was smaller. I am so tired of wearing all my pre-preggo clothes and they don't look the same as they used to, but I don't have the money to replace them. I guess I should just be happy that I can fit into most of them, but I'm not b/c I feel like I don't look good.

:rotfl: Me too!!! If someone could give me a trainer, some lipo, and a serious wad of cash, I would look HOT!!! :lmao:

:lmao: Love it, so true! If we were all rich, we could afford nannies and personal trainers and would look just like all those stupid actresses that are a size 0 less than a month after having a baby.

And I think you look beautiful in the wedding outfit - I love the necklace! Is that Vaylie you're holding? She looks so grown-up!

Okay, DH does NOT understand the whispered urgency of "honey, we need to head home NOW. I'm leaking!" :scared:

My DH is the same way, and it drives me crazy! I had a leaking problem in another area at a similar event, with no bathrooms around, and he wasn't taking my less than subtle hints. I wanted to kill him!

So, I've started posting on the TTC thread. Hubby dropped a bomb on me while we were at Disney. We were talking about DVC (something we've talked about many times) and he drops the "I was thinking, we should have another kid" bomb...so out of character for him.

One thing I love about it is that I'd be a stay at home mom again!! I don't have to work now, but with another child it would be useless. I work now for our luxuries. We will still hvae them, but I really need to pay somethings off and get the house back in order. I've been slacking, way too tired after work and with 2 kids.

So tonight we need to have a serious chat...do I start my last pack of pills or not?? I go to the dr's in June, so I can get my refill if needed. But I already got started on prenatals, just in case.

Anyone here have 2 about 2 years apart?? That's what we wanted w/our kids now, but we waiting until he was 2 to start trying, then had 2.5 years of infertility. We had custody of my niece over the summer who was 2.5, when Brady was 4 months and I really didn't have any issues. Luckily my hubby is good and a huge help w/kids/house, etc etc. One of my employees husbands hasn't changed more than 2 diapers and it was only because no one else was there to do it. They have 4 kids all under 5.

DH and I had hoped to have all of our kids really close together (like a year apart or so). Clearly, since Christopher is almost 13 months, and I'm not pregnant, that went out the window :) We're looking at a couple of options for who will work. My parents watch Christopher on the days our schedules cross, but I'm sure they wouldn't want 2 little ones to keep up with. One option is that we both stay working for the fire department, and I let my PA license go. That means that 2 days every 3 weeks we work the same day. That can be swapped pretty easily. Or, I go back to work FT as a PA and Brian is the stay at home dad. No idea which one will work better. Too much to think about - the numbers make my head spin.

Has anyone heard from Syrreal? I don't think I've seen/heard her around here lately.

beck, you look cute! i don't think i've ever seen a pic of you before. nice to be able to put a face with the name.

haircuts really can make you feel better. the one thing that i do like about myself right now is my hair. I got a posh spice, shorter in the back and longer in the front kind of bob. It always just falls into place which is awesome!

Thanks for the compliments ladies.

I haven't seen Syrreal either, now that you mention it...

Pollito- yes, that is Vaylie!! Can you believe how "little girl"-like she is, and not so much baby-like anymore?

I actually went to Babies R Us last Thursday and started tearing up a bit, because I won't need to go there much longer. And although I NEVER listen to country music, I just happened to turn to a country station in the car and this song made me listen- it's called "You're gonna miss this" by Trace Adkins. Listen with a box of kleenex though, good grief. The end is all about how this lady has two kids running around screaming and crying, but this guy reminds her that later in life she's going to miss it, even if she's frazzled now. Last Thursday was a weepy day.

And yesterday we went to the zoo- it was beautiful outside! And the zoo was way crowded, but we had a wonderful relaxing day. Now I have to work today thru Saturday (6 days in a row sucks), but then I am on vacation!!!! YEAH! I have 10 days to spend with my hubby and Vaylie! And sleep in and play outside! So, I just have to get through this week.

I think I can... I think I can....

And if money or hyperemesis wasn't an issue, I'd be pregnant right now. In fact, I think hyperemesis is God's way of telling me I don't need to be Michelle Duggar- I love kids and would have a whole clan like the Jolie-Pitts if it were at all feasible.

But, since money IS an issue, and hyperemesis could be an issue, we're only having two kids- and I want to wait until Vaylie is older in case I get sick- that way she'll be better able to understand why mommy is in the hospital (if it comes to that again).

My oldest girls are 2 years apart, and to tell you the truth, I wish they were 3 years apart! LOL There are times when the close ages are a blessing, bu they also bicker ALL the time! :sad2: I think it's the whole same sex thing. I doubt we'd have these issues if they weren't both girls!

Becky you look very cute and put together!!

As for more kids...I always wanted 3 or 4 but the reality is maybe 2. In 2 years we will evaluate our situation and if it is finacially feasable we will start trying. It took us almost two years and an IUI to have Chase so I'm giving myself a little more time for a second one.

Well my Sister is about to pop anyday now and the Dr says she could have a 9 pounder in there :scared1: She is small in stature so I'm not sure how that is going to work.

Have a great day everyone!!!

I consider myself on the small side, though I wish I were smaller! LOL However, my youngest DD was nearly 9 pounds, and it was quite shocking to me! LOL I'm sure your sister will do fine. How much did she weigh at birth? I was 8lbs 9, and I"ve heard that a woman typically gives birth to a baby the same size as she was at birth!
