Thanks everyone. I am hoping to save up for an embroidery machine and then I can do monogramming too.

Those pictures of Brady and Vaylie are soooo adorable! What cuties we have here on this thread!

Ash- that'd be cool- the new embroidery machines do SO much!!

I'm thinking of taking a "mommy and me" swim class with V this summer. We have a small above ground pool- just the pop-up kind, but it's nice enough to have when it's HOT out and we can at least all get wet!!

We live in a fairly rural area, so we don't have access to lots of classes or playgroups. It kinda bums me out. But, then again, I already feel like we are on the go nonstop, especially since DH and I both work full time. I;m not sure when I can cram anything in!

And, OT- but V looks like a drunk cowboy now that she's starting to walk. :lmao: It's too funny!

That dress is ADORABLE! Great job!!

I agree with the poster who mentioned that it's hard to find boys button downs in fun prints...we have a few, but usually they are either impossible to find or outrageously expensive!

He's so cute! I have the same outfit for Owen in red, and I just love it. Dh calls it his candycane outfit, though. Maybe if we had it in a different color he'd like it more, but I think it's fun.

Thank you! :goodvibes I love the striped outfit too! It's so so soft and cuddly. We have a onesie in red and white stripe and my DH is colorblind, so it looks black to him, otherwise, I'm sure he would say the same thing!

Oh my gosh, the pics are too cute!

Ash - The dress is beautiful! The only stuff I've made for Christopher so far has been flannel overalls (It's stinking COLD here :) ).

Kelly - swimming lesons sound like fun. I want to sign up for them in Concord, but the schedule never mixes with mine.

Brookelizabeth - I know what you mean about boy's shirts. I've been trying to find a cute button down one for Christopher for Easter, but no luck. And I haven't seen any good Hawaiian ones either. He needs to have his "Hanging with Daddy" outfits.;)

The pics are soooo cute! I love seeing everyone's kids. Their little facial expressions are really fun! :goodvibes

"Hanging with Daddy" outfits exactly describes why I love putting Owen in button up shirts! The best is DH has a bright red hawaiian shirt with red hibiscus flowers all over it, and I found one for Owen that looks almost exactly like it!! Unfortunately, he's so small it looks like it will be close to a year before it fits him. But I do hunt everywhere for reasonably priced, fun button up shirts. They are so stinking hard to find!

Hi ladies :) Hope everyone is doing well. We've been so busy lately, that I haven't had much time to get on here. Amanda's been a little under the weather with a cough, but she's much better now! I've been busy scrapbooking, and with a new project.. making Babylegs! Basically, they are baby legwarmers :) They're super easy to make. Here's a picture:

And of course, had to show the model :)

Hi DisneyGirl. Congratulations! I just wanted to give you a little advice. We have the Angelcare monitor and love it. I don't think I could have slept without having it. I definitely recommend it. It did beep one night a few weeks ago (the warning beep) and we went to check on Nicolas and his hands were over his face. Scary!

Another recommendation...try using a swaddler at night. We use the Kiddopotamus brand ones from Babies R Us. It should help him to sleep. We would get Nicolas wrapped up in it and then feed him for the final time, then once he fell asleep put him in his bassinet. That worked really well.

Good luck! And it does get much better! Hang in there!

We are trying the bassinet right now. I thought that if I could try it during the day, I might get more comfortable with having him in it at night. I think I am going to get the Angelcare monitor too. So far, the bassinet is going ok. It has vibration and he seems to like that.

Here are a couple of pictures. I can't believe he's already 10 days old. It is going way too fast.

Amber and Holly - love the pics of your little one's!!! So cute!!

Brady broke his first tooth today! Finally! :cool1: He has been teething for months now! Poor little guy has had rosey cheeks and a runny nose and sneezing all day. I think it's probably due to the tooth. Hopefully he will sleep ok!!

Argh! B has come down with the chicken pox. It's a mild breakthrough case from the vaccine (which he took 2 weeks ago, but it can show up until a month after they take it). He doesn't seem uncomfortable or anything and is his usual self but is contageous so we are under quarantine. So far he only has 3 actual pox.

Ugh- chickenpox. Hopefully it won't get any worse!

Amber- that pic of him sucking his thumb is so sweet.

kelly- V's nose runs like a FAUCET when she's teething!! Seriously. And I know a lot of books say that "runny noses" aren't symptoms of teething, but whatever- in my kid they ARE. And it took her a LONG time to finally break a tooth- she was over 8 months old.

Holly- I love the Baby legs. What do you make yours with? I have bought several from babylegs.net- and I have been buying them as shower/birth gifts because I think they're so freaking cute and HANDY!

Amber and Holly- So sweet! I'm loving the pictures!

I would also be interested on how to make the babylegs, I'm all about making stuff now. I made Ellery a tutu last night because I was lovin' the one of Vaylie in Becky's picture.

I did invest in an embroidery machine, I should get it next week. So I'll probably be monogramming like crazy.

Amber, love the pics of your little one! So, so sweet!

Ash, love that tutu! You are very talented!

I love Babylegs, too, although DH doesn't think boys should wear them. Whatever! I have 2 pair for Owen, and I think he looks cute with his onesie and babylegs and shortalls over them. Maybe DH will come around when Owen is crawling more...

Love the tutu! Man, you guys are so creative!!

Met with S., our mother's helper, and it was encouraging. She loves Owen and was so excited to be able to give him his bottle and hold him today. She doesn't quite believe me that she can pat his back very firmly and he'll like that better than a gentle pat, but then again no one really does. We've horrified many people with how firmly we pat Owen's back to burp him and soothe him. Once they try to soothe him, though, they quickly discover what we did - he wants a solid pat, and don't even think of rubbing his back instead of patting it! :rotfl:

Anyway, she said she's up for being put to work however I need her. She even said she'd wash our windows if that's what we wanted her to do! :) So she'll be over for 2 hours Tuesday, then can come up to 4 hours on both Wed and Thurs, and 2 hrs. on Friday this week. My goal is to get the house completely cleaned up, and then from then on I'll have her come in to help with some maintenance cleaning and some giving me a chance to take a nap/shower time.

DH is excited that the house is going to be clean again. He was trying to be understanding, but it was driving him nuts that things were so bad. I don't blame him; it's gotten really bad and I've been frustrated that I couldn't get anything done. I mean, there's dust bunnies that are literally the size of kittens (and with about the same amount of cat hair) roaming the house in herds! :scared1:

OMG, that tutu is adorable! Wish I was better at sewing, for I'd attempt one. there's no way I could make that, though! lol As for the baby legs.. I'll pm you later with the link of the site I found, that has instructions!!! :)

OMG! What beautiful pictures everyone has posted! I love them all!!!!!

Ash, you are talented! I really ought to try to get out my sewing machine again and see if I could make some simple outfits for Dom. I wonder if I could save some money doing that.

I think Baby Legs are adorable too... though I admit I don't like them on guys as much :rolleyes1

Bethany, I think it is great that you have help. Sometimes I wish I had some as well. It seems the time I have free is busy cleaning and I still can't catch up.

That part of the chicken pox vaccine scares me. I have had the vaccine, but never had chicken pox myself. As an adult it can be super scary. I think I need to get my tithers tested again for it before I give it to Dom. I want him to have it as much for me as for him.
