I'm also not sure where to take him since we moved. There are all of the same chains out here, but I'm not sure I really loved where we took him before, so I'm thinking of switching it up. Does anyone have a favorite chain, or do you mostly use local photographers?

I'm pleased with the results we've gotten from Kiddie Kandids, and I like the way they do packages so I can buy whatever sizes I want of any (or all) of the poses. I certainly love the results from private photography studios better, but I can't afford to do that on a regular basis. At Kiddie Kandids there's no sitting fee, if I only want 3 sheets of wallets that's all I have to buy, and they let me do two different outfits at each sitting. They have some props and seasonal backgrounds, but not a lot, but I've also brought in things from home for some of Owen's pictures.

In June (when Owen is 18m) we're going in for a family portrait from a specialty photographer because I won a gift certificate at a raffle last fall. The sitting fee alone is $350, and an 8x10 is $100!! :scared1: The gift certificate I have will cover the sitting fee for 2 of us and an 8x10, but it will cost us $35 to add in the 3rd family member and then if we want any other prints I'm sure it will cost us an arm and a leg. (or at least one limb... ;)) But this photographer specializes in young kids and her work is amazing, so I'm excited to have her do our first family portrait.

Mines a local photographer. I actually think she is cheaper than a chain place but i have not actually taken caleb to a chain place. We used JCPenny before Trent and I were married in 2003 and had pictures taken of Trent, my brother and I for my parents 25th and I thought it ended up being pricey. What I like about where I had Calebs taken is that 1) she is a co-worker of my mom's---she does this on the side. 2) she does more (and better imo)poses than a normal chain place. 3) I got all of those pictures for a $10 sitting fee (I am in a baby grow program every 3 mos of 1st year so i got a discount) 4) I will probably get the package which I think is (1) 8x10 (2) 5x7 and (4) 4x6...there might even be (8) wallets too but I can't remember from the last time i ordered. I think the price was $69.00

There is one other local photographer I want to try. she does more anne geddes type pictures but she is a little bit more expensive, though not by a whole lot.

Christina: What lines are we looking at the vertical ones?? Or on the 2nd photo there is a faint horizantal one. Which one am I looking at...cause I DEFINTIELY see the vertical ones on both photos. Is that it??

Amber - I am so jealous that you can just pop into WDW. Orlando is not going to work out for us otherwise the kids could hang out at WDW all the time together!!

Bethany - WOW that's scary. Glad you guys are ok and Owen slept through it. I don't know if I could handle that. At least with hurricanes we get notice.

I need to do 2 year pictures. I haven't done any in a while.

The TWO verticle lines. The Equate test is the one with the horizontal line to make it + when you are pg and just - if you are not.

Hey Ladies!

I'm trying to remember the last time I was on and posting and I think it was about 3982149783274983208392 pages ago on this thread!! It's good to seem some familiar "faces" still here though!

Things have been crazy busy the last few months. In December, we went to WDW with my parents -- it was Colin's 3 trip already! We're currently going through withdrawal and are very seriously considering a trip in September for free dining!

I also had my gallbladder out (a nice little side effect of having children! My mom was the same after my sister) 2 days before the New Year (didn't have any plans so thought it would be a good time for emergency surgery!).

Colin is nearly 21 months old already and I'm not sure where it's all gone -- he's starting to talk up a storm, and such a little character. In the last week or so, he's added "I love you" to his repetoire, which just about melts my heart every single time! I *heart* him! We're starting to think about #2, which is exciting and incredibly scary at the same time -- I thought the decision to start trying for #2 would be tons easier than #1, but I'm not finding it that way at all!

Hope you guys have been keeping well! I've missed you!

Mel - Long time no see!! I can't believe Colin is already 21 months. Alexander is going to be 2 in less than a month!! Are you on facebook? A bunch of us have met up on there ... let us know if you are! Show pictures of Colin!! Regarding deciding on #2. We started TTC #2 in October deciding that we wanted them closer together than further apart. It wasn't until the last few months that I started to get baby fever and Dh admitted to it last month!! Good Luck in the decision!

Hi ladies. I need to go and catch up but wanted to ask a question. Have any of you looked into a chiropractor to help with ear infections? My neighbor took her little girl when she was told she was on the path for tubes and now the doctor says he can't believe they were even on that path. Noah has his first really bad ear infections right now but he's had some mild ones before so I'm exploring options. Has anyone heard of this or tried it?

No I haven't heard that...but one of my friends from hs is a chiropracter and I was talking to him on Facebook and apparently chiropracters can help with reflux too! Who knew??:confused3

From what I have read, chiropractors can help with ear infections as well as other things. Apparently, if you are not aligned, then the fluid can't drain from your ear and that leads to the infection.

You'll find conflicting stories as some people think chiropractors are quacks. I have only been for a back issue (and it helped) so I can verify the effectiveness of treating an ear infection.

YAY CHRISTINA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay::dance3::woohoo: I am so excited for you!!!!!!

As for chiropracters and ear infections, I have never heard of it. But, it does make sense!

Mel - Great to hear from you again!!! I can't believe Colin is already 21 months...I think I forgot he was about Brady's age!

Oh - as for pictures - we bring Brady to The Picture People and they have always done a really nice job! :thumbsup2

Yeah Cristina -- I am psyched for you -- what awesome news!! Are you having a blood test? Did you call your doctor? This is so great! I will definately think pink for you!

So you are #1 - you are the kick off girl -- now we will have a string of other pregnancies in the next few months/this year! I just know it!!

YEAH!!!

****************

Hi Mel - good to see you again! Glad Colin is doing well.

Hi to all! Sounds like everyone is good.

****************

By the way - the string of babies being born around the time of Izzy's birthday (Oct 21) and my birthday (Oct 30) keeps getting bigger....we already have my brother and sister in law (Oct 29th) and my husband's brother and sister and law (Oct 28th) and on Sunday we found out that our best friends are due Oct 31st!!

What was in the water in February? That's a lot of babies within days of eachother!!

Have a great day all!

Nicole

Congratulations Christina!! I saw your ticker on a previous post before I even saw the annoucnement!

Hey...Nicole...lets hope not all of us are pregnant this year (ME:scared1:) LOL!

Just got back from Calebs 6 mos check up. He is 28 in (90th %) and 18 lb (70th%) Doctor said to give him stage 2 food now (half fruit and half veggie) and only 4 oz of formula so maybe since he will have more food in him that he will spit up less. Lets hope. I am tired of being covered in spit up. I guess it could be worse though from the other end.:rotfl: HE said Caleb should have 6 teeth by the time he is a year old. That means only 4 more to go.

Tommorow is april fools day! I am thinking I am going to tell my mom that Caleb starting crawling or that he said "Mama". I don't know which one would be more believable at this point...probably the crawling. I always get her bc she is so easy. :lmao:

Brady is a HUGE ketchup fan! It's funny....we have this Mickey Mouse plate with separate parts for the "ears" (I think Michelle has this plate too - I've seen it on her blog!) and whenever I put ANY food on the plate, he wants to dunk it in the ear I put the ketchup in when he has chicken nuggets. The other day he was eating his grilled cheese and pretend-dunking into the ear (even though there was no ketchup in it) before EVERY bite. It was really funny!! Finally I just put ketchup in the ear for him...he thought it was fantastic!!!

I am sooooooooooo congested these past few days. I can't tell if it's allergies or a cold. Either way it sucks!! :sad2:

quote]hope you are feeling better Kelly! i know that plate- i love it. Will won't try ketchup yet- he isn't interested! lol

i was hoping that everyone could give me some ideas for what to do for easter. we are planning on having the nieces and nephews over for easter and doing a big easter egg hunt for them. they range in age from 10 months old to 7 years old. what kind of things should i put in the eggs that would be good for everyone?
stickers, sweettarts (Will love them), little race cars etc. It's hard to find good stuff for the little ones that isn't dangerous or too small.

Hello ladies!

the last half of last week was TERRIBLE!! Zoe had a ear infection and sore throat, so we got her Antibiotics and was pushing fliuds, etc. Thursday, she basically refused to eat and had an upset tummy...I swear I changed like 15 diapers on her that day.:scared1: At least she managed to stay hydrated. Friday, a little better, and by saturday night we did great. I got a haircut and we wnt to dinner..my children love seafood, and they both decided that they like ketchup now. I swear Zoe ate almost a whole decent size piece of fish herself! They at shrimp and sam even enjoyed a scallop! So alls well that ends well I guess....
ouch- hope you guys are feeling better! too cute on the seafood! :goodvibes
Kara - Those pictures are beautiful! He's getting sooo big!!

****
I need to take a break from my TTC boards. I am going nuts. I started getting super faint lines on tests yesterday afternoon
Christina- that is awesome- so the new siggie- congrats!!!! :thumbsup2can't wait to hear all the updates on baby #2!!!!!!!!!;)

We spent yesterday at AK and DTD. It rained in the morning so by the time we got there, all the people had left. We tried FOTLK again and Spencer LOVED it!
what cute pics- looks like he had a great time at FOTLK!!

DMickey - I think I see lines, I hope they get darker soon! :goodvibes

We still haven't taken Alex for his 2 year portraits yet. I took him for his haircut last weekend, and I don't want it to look too freshly cut, know what I mean?

We also didn't have any luck with the last 2 sessions at 1 year and 6 months because he was so mobile, we couldn't keep him still long enough to get a decent picture! :sad2: But now sometimes when I get out the camera at home to take his picture, he stops what he's doing, looks at the camera and says "cheese" so I'm hoping we may have better luck.

I'm also not sure where to take him since we moved. There are all of the same chains out here, but I'm not sure I really loved where we took him before, so I'm thinking of switching it up. Does anyone have a favorite chain, or do you mostly use local photographers?
we used portrait innovations and i liked them the first time, then second time was bad. it depends on the person you get really, i guess. His day care has a photographer come in that does an AWESOME job, so we haev been ordering those. he comes in about twice a year. Will is always smiling and i don't even have to be there for it! ;)

welcome back! Glad Colin is doing well- sorry about hte gallbladder, what a mess.

well not much going on here- just working as usual! Will is adjusting to his new class at day care and seems to like it- it is even more structured in the 18m-2y class. They sit in a circle and do different music, math, crafts etc. I think he is going to learn a lot. We lucked out finding a good place (montesorri).

Denise- did you start the new job? i've been thinking of you!

Nicole- you are right- Christina is the start of the TTC#2!!! you're next? :wizard:;) I might bring up the subject with DH after our DEC trip. see how open he is then.:confused3:wizard: He LOVES William, so i know he would like another. I just see his eyes light up everytime Will does smoething new.

Life has been busy here. My husband started a new job and I was just getting caught up in life and all that.

We finally got the approval for our vacation we had planned from waaay back. So we are going to WDW in May :)

Christina I am so very happy for you! I hope this pregancy goes well for you.

Good luck with Caleb on the solids. We had severe reflux issues with our DS and honestly it wasn't until his stomach grew more (about 9 months) that everything got really better. There will be an end in sight I know though for you :)

I need to fly... we have a lot of Disney stuff to do before this trip.

Hi ladies- no time to chat, but I was catching up and saw the news!

Congrats Christina!!!! :woohoo: :cheer2:

I'll pop back in later!

is one of you girls on here named Amanda Z?? (not going to give out your whole name if you don't want it to...that is if you are on here!) I got a friend request on facebook but don't reconize the name so I thought it might be a diser?? Because I know there is another Kara Arter but she is in California and I am not sure if she is on facebook or not??

Or did any of you other girls get this request??
