Some of the guys are and some aren't just like everywhere. Haven't you seen Deadliest Catch?

They as far as I know, barely ever talk about what they do outside of crab fishing. So they certainly don't talk about going to DL, just complain about the weather and each other.

I have watched parts of the show, at times. I see shows like that, and do not complain about the price of fish anymore. I don't want someone becoming hurt or worse, just so I can eat tuna or shrimp or lobster. Yum, how I do like lobster tail. And calamari too.

How do you like the onslaught of reality TV filmed in AK? Is there some tax break for filming reality TV there?

How do you feel that those super tough crab fishermen aren't from Canada?

I think they are getting carried away with all the Alaska shows. The dumbest one has to be the one about the taxidermy shop. I really do like "Deadliest Catch" though. I have a better understanding now why we pay so much for crab. But, I don't think any of the cast is from Alaska. They all go home to Washington at the end of the season.

The show I REALLY enjoy is the show about coal mining in West Virginia. I think it is on Spike TV. Anyways, those guys are amazing. You could not pay me enough to do their job. Very good series though.

All the same, I would never expect to pay real low prices for sea food. Because the job of the catch, really can become deadly for the fisherman. After I watched The Perfect Storm, well I wished that I had already known the out come. The ending is so depressing, and true. I knew that it was based upon a true story, but I thought, surely there will be survivors?

The actual reason why prices for seafood is so high is demand. Not that crab fishing is dangerous. Most of that crab caught in Alaska goes to Japan.

It's a sad thing, but fish in general are an endangered species because of over fishing.

I enjoyed a lot of the Deadliest Catch but haven't kept up with it in a while. I've heard they had a big scene showing the Coast Gaurd in a new one which is cool. So I might check it out again.

I saw that coal ming show, it was alright.
