March'ish?

That's a pretty good time to catch the wildflowers in California; but I guess you see enough of those where you are.

Not in March, it should still be snowy here. Flowers bloom late May, June and July.

I'd like to show DS things, like SF, a city, the coastal landscapes, and green farms/orchards not the brown farms near us.

It would be easy to spend a night in SF, cable cars and China Town. Monterey for the Aquarium would be great but maybe no practical time wise since the trains don't pass through it. Even a baseball game would be fun, though wouldn't work in March(preseason).

Do you have a favourite place to stay in SF?

I prefer near Union Sq, because I always like to walk up Grant and under the dragon guarded entrance, it set up the feel that it's like another world since you can't see anything else from there. It's also nice to have the cable cars nearby with the option to go up either spur.

I've stayed at a handful of places that are part of the Kimpton Chain. If you aren't familiar it's a small chain of boutique hotels. I've found some to be excessively great, and some not as fun. Depends a lot on the employees, the hotels are all nice to very, very nice nice.

I haven't stayed at any of the Kimpton chains....or at least I don't think I have. We normally stay in Silicon Valley and catch the Cal Train in. But I have stayed at the Hyatt Regency at the Embarcadero and also at the California Hotel (year ago).

I love just walking the streets of San Francisco.

Kimpton isn't big. I'm guessing maybe 50-70 hotels, all in the US. SF has 10, and I've stayed in 5 of them. They are all subtly themed.

Sean - that is one heck of a day! :worship:
I wish I could be that lucky.

I lucked out big time!

Sean, can I read your blog? :surfweb:

Please do! There is a link in my signature.

Sounds like a cool trip Matt.

Studio tour sounded like a hell of a day off.

I'm think it may be better to wait until school end. Too much thinking about going to A's games when I was a kid. During DS's Spring Break it's the beginning of the season and waiting until June I could easier be in the bay area during a A's or Giants game.

It was, I'll never forget it as long as I live.

I want to hit up some Angels games once the season starts. Baseball games are always way more fun to go to, they don't do much for me when I watch them on tv.

 Hi Sean. Nice to see you're having fun. Is SoCal working out for you? Getting any photography in?

Heyo PIO! I'm loving it out here, the weather is great, work is amazing, and I get to play in the parks all the time. I haven't taken the camera out in a few weeks because it's been so crowded but once the holidays have fully disappeared I plan on having a photo only day in the parks.

I'm envious. I would love to be able to have access to DLR for those night time shots; with no one around.

I live in the Bay Area when I was young so those are my teams. Though the Angels is a fine alternative.

I love going to baseball games. Football is ok, basketball so so. On tv Football is great, baseball not. I don't like basketball on tv.

I'm a Cubs fan since birth, the Diamondbacks are my hometown team, the Angles are conveniently located 5 minutes away so I guess I can become a fan.

That's what I'm looking forward to.

How are things in the southern hemisphere?

Cold. It's supposed to be summer here. I had to pull out the fleece the last three days and we've turned the heating back on again. Today hit mid 60's. Tonight will be low 50's. :sad2:

Who would have thought that we were about 100's on the 2 Jan?

(ps. I think it is Dis Twilight Zone. Running s-l-o-w).

I'm sure that's who the chatter is about backstage.

So what would the normal temperature be? 75?

That's about right. Usually we expect about 26 C. I think that's about 72 F or close enough.

You just need to combine those day and split them in half. Should be about right.
