The New Lizard Lounge

Thank you. :flower:

Daddy picked her name. He's a triathlete and Kona is a special place to him.

She's a big, cuddly baby. :flower:

Yay!! Congrats, Floridafam! So glad to hear you and baby princess: are doing well. Hugs to Kona and her mom!

Forgot to add: Yes, she IS big! A sweet, healthy, girl. :cool1:

Floridafam - Congratulations

What a beautiful name for your new baby girl. My DH and myself have been to Kona. It is a truly "special" place, just like your little one.

You sound like you are feeling well. I hope you are getting as much rest as possible. Give Kona a extra little cuddle from us all! princess:

Angel

Congrats! What a beautiful name! Sleep well and enjoy your new little one!

GREAT NEWS :cheer2: :cheer2:

I just got off the phone with the head pathologist at the medical institute my DH had his surgery at. The biopsy is clean! They got it all and there is No need for any further tests no lymph node biopsies, no CAT scan, no PET scan, and no MRI’s. :cloud9:

I have not written because we were getting conflicting information. And just didn't know where we were headed. It has taken us the week to get it all straighten out. He will have to be checked every three months for the next 5 years to make sure there isn’t anything new. And he has to stay out of the sun, use sunscreen and wear protective clothing and a hat. But that is no biggie. DH can not return to work yet because of double vision from the swelling of the eye area. But the doctors think it will go away in the next week or two. He has been enjoying being home and playing with the puppies. :)

I want to thank each and everyone of you for prayers and positive thoughts. :grouphug: Your friendship and support has meant so much to my DH and myself.

I am heading home tonight to grill and open a really good bottle of wine to celebrate and thank God for all our blessings and good friends.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Deb~YUP...Somewhere just outside FLINT! He has family there, and only visits once in a BLUE MOON! They have been asking my DF and DM to stop by, so after a reunion in Maryland last weekend, they headed to Michigan. I believe they are returning home this weekend. ;) Did anyone WAVE back??!  (Can you SEE me?!?). :teeth:

Enjoy the weekend, with so much wonderful news...it's a DONE DEAL! :cloud9:

TGIF...DF99 :wave2:

Angel, that's WONDERFUL news! Now you can spend time with your granddaughter and new puppies without all that worry crowding out the enjoyment.

Leaving out some breakfast treats before I head out to work in the yard. Oh, I wish I were idling along the Poly paths, enjoying the lush landscaping!

Angel-what wonderful news! Well worth a few bounces and happy dance! :cool1: :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :bounce: :bounce:

My Mom could use some more prayers and PD. She developed a bacterial infection in the hospital and the antibiotic has really agrivated her colitis and now there is talk of removing her entire colon. She has resigned herself to surgery in order to come home but she doesn't yet know that it may be permanent. Her doctor has been on vacation for the past 9 days so maybe he'll offer some hope when he sees her today. I still haven't been able to see her because I am just now getting over this cold/flu thing I have. Hope to visit her on Wednesday. My siblings and I have been painting her house so she'll having something nice to look forward to when she does get home.

SO...I really need a break and where else to escape from reality especially with an AP burning a whole in my pocket. I have a friend who will travel with me and another friend who will help out DH with the kids. Thinking of going Sunday 6/5 to Tuesday 6/7. So am I crazy to go for just 2 nights? Airfair is just $135 non stop and great times (get to check out the new terminal at Logan) and I was able to get any resort I asked about at AP rates. My heart is saying go home to Poly CL but my head is saying I should try BWI CL since my travel partner likes Epcot the best. My practical side is saying to go non-CL maybe even try the Swan. What would you do? Would it be worth going for a 2 night escape? Poly CL? Poly non CL? BWI CL? Swan?

floridafam, congratulations on your new little princess, Kona! You’ve got me jealous—I could hold the little newborns forever. My friend just had a baby about a month ago, and I didn’t want to give her back to her momma, LOL! I think the baby days are still a ways away for me, but they are true blessings indeed!

Angel, wonderful, wonderful, wonderful news!!! I am so glad to hear that the scans were clean! I think you should definitely have a special evening out with your DH to celebrate!

lovesdumbo, my prayers are with your mom. I’m so sorry that she is having an infection on top of colitis. I think it’s wonderful that you painted her house—I think having things to look forward to really helps with the healing process. You should definitely get away for a long weekend. I was able to do this (thanks to the kindness of my parents) when I was really down in the dumps after getting downsized. We only went for 2 days, but it was really the spirit refresher that we needed. And it was made even better by the fact that I got a new job just before we went. As far as the resort goes, I think it really depends on how much time you plan to spend at your resort. If you want to spend most of your time in the parks, I would definitely do the Swan. We recently stayed at the Dolphin and loved it! Those heavenly beds are as wonderful as everyone says! If you plan to spend more time at your resort, then I think BWI CL sounds like a good option since it’s close to Epcot and has such a wonderful cast.

Angel: Yay! I'm so very happy to hear it!! Thank goodness.

Lovesdumbo: I'll keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers.

I hope everyone had a nice relaxing weekend. We have been having some beautiful weather here in Michigan, and it made me long for my vacation! Today I sent the GF IPO an email requesting info about renting a car for a day for a trip to see relatives in Tampa while we're down there. Anyone have any rental car companies they'd recommend? I'm only looking at one day, during the middle of our trip, so I'd like to find a place with locations either near or on property. Anyone know of any common discounts you can get? I'm an AAA member, USAA member, all-around-nice-person. . . :rotfl:

Setting out some fruit and yogurt dip along with various crackers and cheeses for an early afternoon snack. Iced tea or lemonade, anyone? :)

Lots of P and PD for those that need it. I am living vicariously through others' plans!

Hello Everyone: Just dropping by with some goodies to enjoy this evening. I am putting out fresh shrimp cocktails, stuffed mushrooms and warm artichoke dip with fresh baked bread. There is also a big pitcher of margaritas and several bottles of Napa Valley Camus wine. I also included a large micro beer selection for those who prefer. :sunny:

I feel we need a Happy Tuesday party :cool1:

:grouphug: Thank you all for your good wishes and prayers! DH is feeling better and we both are so relieved with the good news. Keep us in your prayers as he went for his 3-month heart echo yesterday and we are waiting for those results. But, the technician said his heart was very strong. :cheer2:

Lovesdumbo - Your mom has been in our prayers and we are sending good wishes, positive thoughts and as much Pd as I can fill a semi-truck with. I hope she is healing and will not need any surgery. Please keep us posted as to what all is happening. I can only imagine the look on her face when she sees that you all have been painting her home. :) What a wonderful thing to do. And yes, you should get away for a few days. It really can make a big difference when there is so much stress going on.

EAD79 How is your new job? I hope you are happy and enjoy working there. Your Disney trip is not far off at all. Where are you staying?

Steveanddonna - Can you tell me what all is planned for your May trip? I can’t attend, but I can enjoy it vicariously. :flower: I have not been able to get into that other site you gave me. I don’t know what my problem is, I get started just fine, but I can never make it "through the magic window." :confused3

Debbie - #1Hockeymom - HI How are things going at school? I heard from my kids in Rhinelander, Wis that it was 82 degrees there yesterday. :goodvibes That sounds like spring to me

Have a good evening everyone and enjoy the goodies. Remember don't drink and drive.

Angel :wave2:

It has been in the high sixties, then seventies, all the way to EIGHTY(today) since this weekend! I heard from someone while picking up dinner that it was supposed to snow this weekend. C'est la vie, it is only April afterall!

P and PD for those that need it! You can never have enough people praying for you!

Debbie

Thanks for the excellent treats last night. Angel. It was just what I needed after a long day. Wish you could make it in May, but it'll happen when it's meant to. Let's see, for the May meet we have EMH at MK one evening, Breathless Illuminations cruise on another, Norway princess breakfast, dinner at Brown Derby, dinner at Boma's, Discover Wildlife excursion at AKL (this is the new all-concierge safari), I think a pool party or 2, and some looser plans at the beginning and end to try and meet up with other Lizards whose trips don't quite coincide entirely with the meet. Now I'm thinking I'm going to be exhausted when I get home! I also plan to meet up with one of my Florida friends for lunch one day. I'm bringing my laptop, so hopefully I'll have time to post tidbits occasionally, and some pix, too, along the way.

lovesdumbo, continued prayers and PD for you and your family. I've been there and it's tough; knowing you've made someone's life a little easier, a bit better, makes it all worthwhile, though. As for your potential trip, I'm going to go the opposite direction of ead79. With everything you have to contend with, I'd go for the comfort of familiarity and stay at Poly CL. (Gosh, who'daguessed I'd say Poly? :teeth:) I'm always up for adventure and discovery, but sometimes we need that feeling of "coming home" and this sounds like one of those times for you. Consider that warm "aloha" as you enter the Hawaii building and the genuine fond interest of the CMs there. Imagine relaxing in the dimmed lounge, enjoying Baileys & coffee and a key lime tartlet, as the EWP glides by the windows and you anticipate the beginning of Wishes. I say go with your instincts.

Gotta get back to work - don't want any projects left hanging in May!

AP's Burning A Hole In My Wallet :cool1:

Guess what?

At 5:00 AM this morning DH said "lets go to WDW before our AP's expire." So naturally, it took me maybe 30 minutes to get dressed, pack a lunch, drive to work and call Disney (normally a 2 hour project) :goodvibes

I booked a trip today for late September into early October for 6 nights at the Poly, lagoon/concierge, then 7 nights at AKL concierge. We are going to celebrate our anniversary and DH birthday! :Pinkbounc :rockband: :dancer:

Got to get back to work! Here's to AP codes coming out for the fall. :drinking1 ::yes::

Got to get back to work!

Angel
