The New Lizard Lounge

Good Afternoon everyone! :wave2:

I am so jealous of all of you who are having hot weather! It's lovely here, but not summer by any means, only 73F today......oh well, it is what it is.

I wasn't, at all, impressed with the Christmas decorations at the Contemp last year. We try to visit all of the resorts, just to see what they have done, an I must say we liked the Contemp least of all....just very cold.

*Singing* Summer time, summer time, sum summer time, Summer time, sum summer tiiimmmeeee. Yeah! Okay that was bad singing. Sorry!

:wave2: I'm back. Totally against my will, but I'm back. I'm sorry I didn't get a chance to get online to say "HI." We were busy from sun up to sun down. I need a vacation from my vacation. I LOVED it! I thought the service at WDW was terrific, but cruising aboard the Magic is even better. ::yes::

Pre-Cruise: Arrive at AKL - we got in early this evening. That's never happened before so we happy right off the bat. Up to the lounge for some yummy treats. Nothing special today we're hitting AK first thing in the morning. I must say I didn't like the pool view CL room. Definitely request savannah. I don't think they have many pool rooms but they are smoking rooms. We were lucky it didn't have an odor but we smelled it when our neighbors came home since it was a connecting room. AK - We got there right at opening. We headed to Expedition Everest. Grabbed a FP then hit the stand by line. DS loved it of course. Dinosaur & Primeval Whirl then back to Expedition Everest. We head back to the lodge for some pool time before going to FW. Joey gave me the insider tip where to find the red river hogs and we finally get a glimpse but it was raining and we only had 15 minutes before leaving to the Hoop Dee Doo so I didn't get a chance to take pictures. Hoop Dee Doo was so much fun. Oh, I want to do it again. We came all the way from VA to get some chicken in us. :rotfl2: I got to meet up with Sue from IPO before we left on Saturday. She happened to be working in the lounge that morning. I hadn't seen her in a while so that was very cool. Down to our traditional Boma's breakfast. YUM!

Embarkation - Ok I got there a bit late - 10:45 a.m. and this place is buuussssy. Oh my! We got boarding #9. I want to be in that concierge lounge that's roped off with boarding #1 please. Okay, okay - I need to stop that! I did snag the spa villa with the wrap after getting onboard. All the sea days are taken of course, but I snag one for tomorrow on our way to Key West so that'll work. I'll get to that in a moment. You'd think a Cat 4 would be okie dokie. I'm really just a spoiled brat. I'm beginning to wonder what I signed myself up for. I thought the split bath was a grand idea. Until I saw it. LOL! There is no way I can do my hair in here. I'm so glad I brought that extension cord after all. The good thing is that they have ample storage space. Another brownie point for the DCL. Dinner at Animator's Palate first. Hey, look at that I'm getting my sea legs. :thumbsup2 I was really rocking in that room earlier. Our server is Sachin, Asst Server - Kendall and Host is Efren. Drink of the Day - Bay Breeze - These are butt kickers. Whew doggie! I feel the burn baby. Good news - no water downed drinks here so I won't need to buy a bunch of them. Another brownie point for DCL.

Key West - I have that spa appointment this morning. I forgot my camera. Grrr! Let me give you the run down on this. It's a must do! You get into your bathing suit and robe upon arrival. You sit out on the balcony in a comfy chair and put your feet into a nice foot soak. I had Jolene as my therapist. She was great BTW. She came out to do a quick foot scrub which felt really nice. Then you get to hop in the jacuzzi for some alone time. I was watching the water change to a beautiful crystal blue while soaking. Then it's time to do the wrap. I choose the one for stress relief/muscle relaxation. The paper panties are just so cute and oh so flattering. :joker: I'm on a floating bed. It's the only one they have. Now this is all in the same room. I'm painted on, wrapped up and then the bottom gently comes out from under you. You feel weightless. It's so cool! And relaxing. Then it's time to shower off outside. Yep, in the buff outside. The curtains are pulled, but if I can see people at port I'm positive they can see me. Hurry, hurry - get this stuff off of me. :rotfl: The water really is beautiful here. Then I get back inside where you get a full body massage. Awesome! After this you get your robe back on and head outside to sit on the very large padded lounger. Jolene brought out the tea and sliced fruit to enjoy by myself to wrap the session up. Totally worth the money. :thumbsup2 :goodvibes Oh, yeah - we went into port and did the Conch Train tour. We bailed at break time to grab a seafood lunch and beer. ::yes:: It was a good tour but a bit long for us. It wasn't the wiggly kid syndrome, but the wiggly parent syndrome. We of course had to get a slice of key lime pie. Picked up some juice to bring home so I can make my own. We were so pooped that we skipped dinner tonight and opted to order room service and just chill.

Lesson #1 - Deck 10 is not skirt proof. It's definitely a no skirt zone. Story on why I know this later.

More to come and hopefully with pictures. I'm looking into booking our next Disney cruise. I'm considering cutting our Hawaii trip by a day or two in order to get another 7 day cruise in. :rolleyes1

VAGal, welcome home. I knew you would fall in love with the Disney cruise. Isn't it amazing? The spa villa sounds incredible, what a way to spend the morning. I tried to purchase a pack of those lovely paper panties, but can't seem to find them anywhere :teeth: . Deck 10 can be pretty iffy. DD and I made the mistake of coming up on the wrong end when we had our Palo dinner. We figured, what the heck, it was a nice night and we could just walk across the deck. Huge mistake. I imagine many folks in the area had a good laugh as we struggled across the deck, holding down dresses and trying to push our hair out of our faces. When we finally got ot Palo, we looked like we'd just been through a wind storm, but neither of us could stop laughing about it.

Make sure you book your next cruise early enough to snag a mid-ship category 3 suite, or one of the 1's or 2's. The extra room is wonderful and having a triple verandah is the way to go. Concierge service is a nice plus.

I'm doing the  happy dance, as I'm finally done with school. My goodness, it's been a long year. We took off for Cape Cod right after I got done on Friday. Well, us and every other Massachusetts resident. Between traffic and flooding on the roads, what should have taken an hour, took us 3 hours and 15 minutes. We met up with DS on Saturday, he had spent the week on Marthas Vineyard with a friend. The weather was crappy, but DD loved swimming in the hotels pool and both DH and DS came home with gold medals from the skating competition held on Saturday :woohoo: .

Off to do some food shopping. It's amazing how much we go through when everyone is home from school. Hope everyone has a good week.

Just checking to see how all the Lizards from the northeast are doing. I know some of you have already been flooded out and now it looks like you are getting some very heavy rain again. I hope all of you are OK and that the sun shines on you very soon.

I think I've pretty much settled on CR MK view for Christmas regardless of the hotel decorations. I bring my own tree so I'll decorate the room and we'll visit the resorts that do the decorations the right way. I'm looking forward to a little tlc by the concierge lounge this trip. I just hope that my parents health holds out and I can actually enjoy it rather than the over night trip I did last year. As long as DD and DH have a great time it will be OK though.

We're going in September to celebrate DD's birthday, my birthday, and our anniversary. (sept, aug, and july in reality). I haven't even started planning that trip yet. That will be a weekend trip so I don't usually plan to much on those. My DD wants to take a friend this time so I have to think a little on that -- it's kind of scary taking someone elses child to WDW and I'm not sure if I want to do that or not. We'll see.

Again, I hope all is well with everyone. Pixie dust to all.

VaGal: Glad to see you had a great trip! I never got to meet SUe, but I wanted to. She was the nicest person to talk to, and now you know me.....I can talk! She really made me feel taht any money spent on CL was well worth it, and she was right! Now you have me wanting a cruise....no I am trying to figure out how to get Buddy on a ship. It's going to take some time, but I will get there :thumbsup2.

Tammi: Hooray! :cheer2: School's out! Has it stopped raining there? We are in for another day of "downpours" here, and I have heard that there are Mom's who are home with punchy kids threatening to burn down the weather station at our local news station. :rotfl:

Minniesummer: You decorate your own tree? I have trouble with this little task at home, so I am impressed!

Nancy: I am obnoxious when it comes to Christmas and trees. I actually put up a nine foot tree in my living room, a three foot tree in my dining room, a 5 foot tree in my family room (the only live one), a 4 foot tree in DD's rrom, a two foot tree in the master, in addition to about 70 foot of decorated garlend over all the sliding doors. I usually do a specific theme for the tree in the living room but the last two years have been everything goes -- use every ornament in the attic that is not designated for a tree in another room (about 10 boxes of over 100 ornaments each). My DH has banned me from ever buying another ornament until all of these get broke. It's really sad because the only storage space we have is the attic over the garage and the entire thing is taken up with Christmas stuff. That could be why we have no room in the rest of the house.

Hello everyone!

Bonnie, welcome back! It sounds like you truly loved the DCL—I can’t wait for more details!

Tammi, schools out—woo hoo! Enjoy the summer and the break from the hustle and bustle of the school year.

MinnieSummer, you’ll have to tell me what you think about the CR. It’s the only deluxe I have never stayed at, so I’m anxious to try it (especially with those new renovated rooms that look so good in the pictures). We’ve already got this December’s trip planned, but we’re considering CR and the Poly for December 2007.

I’m also thrilled to hear that I’m not the only person obsessed with Christmas decorations! I’m probably the only newlywed with a full tree of ornaments, LOL. Plus, I collect Dept. 56 villages (three different ones), Steinbach nutcrackers, etc. I’m such a sucker for Christmas stuff—I’m the silly person who jumps for joy when they put out all the Christmas cereal, paper towels, etc. at the grocery store. :teeth:

Oh, Bonnie! I'm so glad to hear it was "all that"! lol! You've just been on my dream vacation... Thank you so much for the description of the Spa Wrap treatment... That sounded unbelievably relaxing! I have to try to calm down before I start dialing Disney Cruise Line! :Pinkbounc Can't wait to hear more and see pictures!

Welcome Back!

Congrats, TammiMac on surviving another school year! I know you must be ready to just back down and take some time off...

Waving hi to everyone before I head out of the Lounge!

WOO HOOO Tammi! I bet you're a happy camper now that you have some rest! I agree that the kids tend to eat way more in the summer than during the school year!

Elizabeth! Miss you! Don't ever stop with that collection!

Hello to all those coming back from trips, and those about to embark on them!

Bonnie>> The spa wrap sounds heavenly! I look forward to more details about your cruise! I must do DCL. I do believe I did not get the true cruise experience on RCL

This is a post and run, but know that I'm thinking of all of you!

Debbie

 Hi there dear friends. I sure have missed you all. So how is everyone doing?

Bonnie - You are back from your WDW/Cruise trip. :cheer2: You have beem missed. How what it? Tell me all about it. Have you done a trip report yet?

I hope everyone is great.

I was hopeing to sit down and write a nice long post, but DH just walked in and I have to go.

Happy 4th of July pixiedust: :wizard: pixiedust:

Angel

I ran in early to straighten the lounge. I hope everyone is enjoying brunch!

Happy Fourth of July!

Debbie

Like Disbug, I thought this had been dismantled - I'm happy to see it has not been.

Happy 4th of July everyone and stay safe!

I envy the next LL trip - but I shall think happy thought for you all - I know you'll have a GREAT TIME. sans water guns but I believe you'll find other ways to entertain yourselves..... :cool1:

I hope the weather stays non-humid for y'all this year too! As Bonnie can attest, it's a little too humid here in the Commonwealth.

I wish I could go but I am preparing for houseguests this summer - a dear friend of mine is coming in July for a much needed relaxing break as she tries to determine which direction her life is going to take. I have another dear friend coming in August (and a fellow LL), I hope that the fruits of the place will take their time to develop - it's so much fun to make jam! :stir:

I'm wondering if, in honor of my friends, I should Mickey Mouse the back-40???? Any suggestions?!

Okay, I did my first every official trip report on the boards. Here is the link:

I hope everyone had a Happy 4th! :wave2:

Working on booking my next cruise. Geez, I'm a total cruise convert now. It's not on DCL because the Magic is sailing in Europe by then. 3/4 nights just aren't going to be long enough. I just know it. 7 nights weren't long enough and I'd love to book a 10, 12 or even 14 nighter. ::yes:: However, it's another adventure and we have 10 people rounded up including my sister out of NH. We never get to vacation together like this so it's a super special treat. My sister and I plan on doing a Disney vacation together too. Maybe in 2008 if the stars will have it.

Not much happening right now other then not wanting to clean up my desk like a good little worker. I'm also preparing to see some of the lizard girls sometime in the very near future ;) so I better get some spunk back into my step. LOL!

I think we do need a lizard cruise meet. It'd be perfect and oh so family friendly with all the kids club facilities and things to do onboard. :cloud9: Last one to Serenity Bay is a rotten egg....~runs away from Denise with that oozie she's carrying.~

~Whispering from the shadows - Is she gone? Can I come out now? Good.~

Where was I? Oh, right:

I need to start scrapbooking. I have so many regular pictures and momentos I want to make one. I don't know where to begin. Who wants to point me in the right direction on how to begin adventures in scrapbooking?

DISBUG - What is WWTBAM-PI, if I might ask?

OOPS! Sorry GoofyJoofy! Somehow I missed your question! YIKES! My bad? :confused3 WWTBAM-PI! Is the acronym for the MGM attraction "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire~ Play It!" I hear it is being done away with! I really loved it!

Bonnie! I promise if I come on a Disney Lizard Cruise to leave the ouzie at home! Sheesh! :rolleyes1
(*reminder to self: pack only the water "pistols"...) Glad you had such a great time on your recent trip!

Just got back from the Keys... DD17 and I went down to Key West for the last few days and had an absolute ball! That is one hopping town! We tried to see POTC2 while we were down there, but it was sold out both days. That would have been neat to see it then. popcorn::

Hope everyone had a Happy 4th! So what's been happening lately??

Well, Denise, I've been working my fanny off for starters. Crunch time, crunch time, crunch time! Well, at least I wish I could work a bit of my fanny off but anyway.

Want to know what I loved most about Key West? The food and drinks. :teeth: I think they have some very gorgeous water down there. I just wish we had been more coordinated. We want to go back and tour the lighthouse. We didn't make it there in time - missed it by 15 minutes. Shoot! I'm sure we'll be visiting again. It's just a question of when. ;) We also made our key lime pie. It was deeeee-lish.

Oh, and we're going to disney world! :Pinkbounc :rotfl2: :cheer2:

I'll let you bring your whole arsenal. I'll bring the camo war paint. :smooth: You never know when we might have to go undercover and escape all the paparazzi. :smooth: Have ya'll got your gorgeous, rhinestone sunglasses to hide behind yet? I need to pick mine up this weekend. We will look simply fab-u-lous, darling. :teeth:

*waving hello to the lizards!*

I hope everyone is doing well!

Has anyone seen the info about the new hard-ticket event at the MK called the Pirate & Princess Party? It'll be this January, February, and March, and it looks like fun! It seems to be similar to the other parties like MNSSHP and MVMCP. I can't wait to hear reports from those who go to the earlier parties in January. DH and I might consider it for our trip.

Yeah, I caught wind of that too. It really irks me because I would've tried to go. But I don't think I'll be doing a WDW vacation next year. GASP! Did that just come out of my mouth? :faint: We are cruising then with Hawaii I just don't know if I can squeeze a 3rd vacation out. I might be able to do a long weekend but DH doesn't have any more time he wants to willingly part with. There must be wiggle room for hunting season. I can't wait to see the trip reports and pictures too. I bet it's going to be a lot of fun.

On a side note - maybe we should just plan on a mini-meet during that time. The devil made me say it!

No WDW vacation next year? :faint: That simply won't do! Our spring trips to WDW are really just long weekend trips. Perhaps you can squeeze in a low budget quickie trip next spring.

*subliminal messaging begins* Bonnie needs to go to WDW next year. Bonnie needs to go when Elisabeth is going so they can all go to the Pirate and Princess Party. Bonnie's husband either needs to use his time off and come along or give Bonnie the go ahead to leave him at home, LOL. *subliminal messaging ends*

Weird? I feel like booking a spring trip sans hubby. A budget trip, too! What's up with that? :lmao:

You just never know when things like that will just pop into your mind. ;) Maybe you could get to try out a moderate--I know you've wanted to try one before.
