The new KFC Colonel

Just saw Norm as Colonel Sanders. No, and just no.

I don't get it. Why would KFC execs think this is good for business? :confused3 Maybe because we are talking about it? But it's not in a good way! Idk.

I do know this, their commercials are not changing my mind -- Popeyes kicks the pants off KFC. ;)

DH and I are bummed they changed over to Norm McDonald. For some reason we really enjoyed Darrel Hammonds 5 buck box song and we would sing it all the time. I'm guessing they got so much negative feedback they're now back paddling to undo the damage. The Norm McDonald version is definitely more "respectful" but boring. Ah well.

The claim is that Darrell Hammond wasn't forced out, but that the transition to a new actor was intended all along. At least one article I read was that there's going to be a new guy in spring.

Hammond does look more like the Harlan Sanders. This whole campaign is just kind of some strange performance art I guess.

I think they are just cycling through comedians. I don't think Norm is "new", just next in a series.

LOVED the Darryl Hammond Colonel and we'd laugh every time when he got to the "big ol' coooookie" telling about the $5 box.

Do NOT like Norm McDonald - he's like a New York Colonel Sanders. It'll be interesting who gets the gig next.

We saw Norm last night for the first time. I was starting to wonder if Lorne Michaels is the one making the new KFC commercials. A bit weird to use two different SNL alum.

When they first brought the Colonel back, I said to my husband that it looked and sounded like a really bad Saturday Night Live skit. Then we realized that's basically what it was. He was just horrible.

I don't care about the colonel -- they need to work on the taste of their chicken.

I can't remember the last time I had KFC, all I remember is the nasty greasy taste.

I just don't like Norm McDonald in any incarnation, he is just not funny to me at all.

Yet another one.

This one is the "Extra Crispy Colonel" as portrayed by (I kid you not):

George Hamilton

They always run out of extra crispy wings….
Commercials just creepy all the way around
