johnsonet - I know a lot of people say they have better success in getting an upgrade by making no requests. That doesn't work for us, we sometimes forget to make a request, and have never been upgraded at check in, lol. In that respect, we have no luck!

I usually request a building or the top or bottom floor.
The one time i did not make any requests we were upgraded and we had booked more than one room. Did that make a diffy? I doubt it but its what we experienced.

Does anyone have pictures of the seating area at Gaspies? My DH is Pooh sized and has a hard time sitting in booths or chairs with arms. I was looking at the "rate and review" section of All Ears and they show one picture of the seating area it looks like the chairs are bolted to the floor...is that right? If that is true I hope there is more seats available that can move and do not have arms. I read that you can eat outside. How is the seating outside? I would haste to have to eat outside every time we have a meal there. Any pics would be great.

I had a corner TPV room in BPK once; loved it!

We never make requests and have been really blessed with our room assignments. Like Mr. FOLS, I don't know if this makes a difference or not.

BTW, I ask myself that last question everyday Mr. FOLS

I am sorry I don't have a photo, but the chairs are not bolted down at all. I remember borrowing chairs from one table to another. They also do not have arms, the kids move over from one to other with ease!!

The outside chairs do have arms (that I remember) but are also not bolted!!

Its just tables and chairs. I dont think they are bolted to the floor.

We never eat inside, so I never really looked at the chairs there. It is a small area in the arcade. You will find most people eat outside. I love sitting outside by the marina. You have to keep an eye on the birds though, they have been known to steal food.

Def not bolted down..... i have even moved a table inside to accommodate a larger party! The tables out side are nice but, yea, the birds are annoying and will eat your food if you let your guard down!

Thanks for the Conch room view pix, Cinderumbrella!! I won't be terribly disappointed if we aren't in MK view room (since I didn't request and pay for same) but nice to know what we will be seeing...

Mandy I have seen this with the birds!!! They will swoop down and grab stuff right off the table if you leave anything unattended...

So anyone dining outdoors at Gaspies...BIRD ALERT!!... they will try and share your meal....

We do both. I love sitting by the Marina in the morning and having breakfast. We usually do the GF Cafe on check out day and maybe one other, but it is too much food for me to eat everyday.

BlueSkies, Great idea on the cabana, but it will just be DH and me. I don't think we would want to sit there for 4 hours. It would definately be more fun with more people. Now if you want to come down in May instead of June and join us, it would be a great way to spend the afternoon.

is the Deluxe room bigger or is it just a king bed?
Because there both the same price

If you get a deluxe king room, it will have a king bed and extra seating area, sleeps 2. The regular deluxe club level rooms have two queens, with extra seating, sleeps 4. Depending on the season, std. CL and deluxe-king CL rooms can be the same price or about $5/night difference; deluxe CL rooms range $5-$20/nt. higher.

Like Maxie86, we do both. Many mornings, I'll send the kids down to Gasparilla's to grab some quick breakfast and bring it back to the room. A couple of mornings, we'll do GF Cafe, or head over to Kona Cafe at the Poly. We love both GF Cafe and Kona for breakfast, so we usually leave some time for that - but, if you're park commandos, the breakfast items at Gasparilla's are decent.

That is a great idea to try out Kona too!! I tend to like a bigger breakfast and only snack for lunch. Park commando days are gone we now have a toddler underfoot.

But we had a delightful lunch at GF Cafe today. Great as always.

Blue Skies, I forgot to print out a copy of allears posted menu before we came down. Would you like me to ask them for a copy to send to you. I would offer to scan it but I have no clue how to do that. Otherwise, I'll make some quick notes. Is there anything in particular that you would like to know about Citricos current menu?

It was cold here this am but it's a beautiful 60 or so now. The rental car said 61 a bit ago. Off to California Grill tonight. Can't wait. We never miss it.
