Thanks for the tip that you can get a Marina view when booking a Garden Room!! I'm going to call in the morning and have that noted on my reservation.

Which building should I request to be close to Gaspies? Need my morning coffee and I'm usually the one getting the Mickey Waffles in the am while the kids are watching playhouse disney!:happytv: Is that Conch Key?

Now regarding asking for high floors, I'd like one, but don't want a dormer room which is smaller than a standard room. Will they NOT give me a dormer room since we're requesting a crib? I don't want to have too many requests on file, they might not look at any of them!!

Thanks for all your help!

I already started shopping for the trip! Got myself a cute pair of sneakers today and ordered the kids new beach towels from disneyshopping.com. Two for $20 plus 19% came to 2 for $16!

Tink,
Those pictures are amazing!
We have a GV room booked for 9/27-10/1
I would love to have this as a view! WOW This really is a GV room??
What building is this?? I have a request in for a monorail view/high floor. I would like to add what ever building this is to the request.
Thank You.

You are very welcome... We always stay in Conch Key... Mom likes the boats to the MK... It is a GV... I ask for the Marina... it's the top floor although I've stayed on the 3rd as well. We had one of the dormer rooms and although someone said they are smaller - it didn't seem so to me because of the vaulted ceiling.

Our room was 7513... and it's nice because the Marina is nice and quiet most days...

Good luck!!!

Hello,
I am new to the disboards. I will be staying RPC for the first time in Sept. We are close to our 180 days for dining reservations. Does anyone know the ipo address to contact. How long does it usually take for them to respond back after you contact them? I have gotten alot of great info from here. We plan on requesting castle view 4th floor. On a side note I just purchased Bare Minerals from everyone on this board talking about it. I am wearing it for the first time today.

Hi, the IPO email address is

Grand.Floridian.Itinerary.Planning@disneyworld.com

I just used it last week so I know it works. They got back to me within 48 hrs. Happy planning.:goodvibes Welcome to the DIS. YOu chose the best resort.:cloud9: Enjoy! ps...I also went a bit crazy purchasing BM for the first time due to all the recommendations here. It hasn't arrived yet. I hope I can use it easily!!! Anything that comes with an instructional DVD intimidates me!!

Goofygal - How neat!! I once saw a China pattern with my name, too.:goodvibes We have had a dormer room once. They are really great! I honestly did not notice any size difference at all. The high ceiling adds charm IMO and they are very cute and cosy. For proximity to Gaspies Sago or Conch w/marina view. Those are actually the marina view buildings and Gaspies overlooks the marina. So there ya go. :thumbsup2 I have gone nutso shopping for our spring break trip. That's part of the fun.:rotfl: OMG...just saw your link to the shoes - how cute!!!

Thanks Channing. I don't think that is the address I had so Iam glad I asked. The RPC trip will be our 3rd trip to Disney this year. We are staying Polynesian lagoon view club level at the end of the month. Then again in May for a short trip with friends. My family loves the Poly but the Grand is my favorite. We have stayed Sugar Loaf but never RPC before. I only ordered the Bare Minerals foundation from QVC. I think I now need to go back and order some of their other products. I loved reading about all the products that everyone here recommends. I might need to try the mineral veil next. Can't wait to hear how you like everything you ordered.

Hi everyone! I have one more question. Do all the rooms have private balconies? I thought I read somewhere that they do not.

Hi everyone! I have one more question. Do all the rooms have private balconies? I thought I read somewhere that they do not.

yes they do!! They are separated by a divider panel - there is about a foot on the bottom where you can see your neighbors feet, haha. - like a bathroom stall door type thing... & you can hear them if they are out. You can't see them or what they're doing unless you get down on all fours and look under:rotfl: .... Same thing at the YC if you've stayed there before. It's not like you'll all be out there sharing the same balcony, looking at the strangers staying in the room next to you, and forced to make small talk;) ....I would call them semiprivate....the dormers have more private separate balconies.

Hi, Sarah.....yes all the rooms have been redone. :thumbsup2

Enjoy!

clownfish 1452, Did you stay in Big Pine Key last year? If so, how was it and how are the GV room views? I am trying to figure out what GV building I want to stay in before I call about my reservation.

Hi everyone! Thought I would check in and say hi! Havent been on in a while! Hope all is well with everyone. :goodvibes
We didnt end up going on my $10 fare trip but that is okay becuase we are going for 12 days in May! Havent decided where to stay yet...I am sure a few days will be spent at the GF! :thumbsup2

We stayed in a GV room in Big Pine Key last October and were very happy.
Between us we had 3 rooms at the end nearest the main building so used the outside stairs rather than the lift so it was easy to access both pools/beach and the main building. We could also watch Wishes from the balcony. The walk to Gasparillas was fine but we did valet park the car as the self parking was a bit of a trek.

We were slightly anxious about staying in a GV room as when we stay at the Disneyland Hotel in Paris we stay on the Castle Club floor (like RPC) but the lack of perks in Florida didn't make a stay concierge worth it for us, plus we stayed for 2 weeks so the cost would have been:scared1:

Anyway we really enjoyed the GF and the GV room so much we are going back for 2 weeks in August:thumbsup2:

This thread it great and I am still planning a few nights at GF and will be calling today since it is during the week of Christmas.

I did price it on the WDW website. The only rooms they have on the GV, LV and MK view. No others are listed. Do you have to call to get these?

I am still on the fence as of what to do. Since it is our Anniversary and Christmas...I want to make it extra special, but I do feel a bit guilty since we are also DVC. We will be using our points to finish our the rest of the trip at BCV...this way we are getting the both of both worlds!

Also:
What building would you request for GV, for LV or MK view??

I am also looking at the main building rooms but the prices are not coming up. I am sure they are quite scary :scared1: during the week of Christmas!

Good morning...

Hubby and I are staying at the GF for 6 nights to celebrate our 10 year anniversary in July (we were married in a Disney fairytale wedding) After reading all these posts I just called to request my GV room be a Marina view, so thanks for the heads up!

My question is...
When we were there in the couple visits last year we noticed that the GF has a photopass kiosk and you can make appt. and have a photo shoot done on the GF grounds, problem is I can't get a number to call ahead and set up this appt. I keep getting transfered and noone seems to be able to help... Can anyone offer advice or know who to contact?? The last few visits they have been booked so i want to call in advance and I think it would be great to have our pics done 10 years later in alot of the same place we had our first ones done.

Any advice would be great! Thanks a bunch!!

The only number I could find was 407-824-3000 the main number to the GF. I don't know what number you have tried.

I was at the GF last July and a couple was doing almost the same thing, so they are there.

Good Luck!!!:goodvibes

Yes, we did and the view was wonderful we watched wishes right from the balcony almost every night. We were in room 9310. We just loved it so nice to order room service and watch the fireworks.

If you have anymore questions you can send me a message if you would like.
