hi all, does anyone know if the RPC 3rd floor balconey has a view of the mk fireworks/castle? can you hear the music? thanks in advance.

I'm sorry -- I know you can see the fireworks if you walk towards the end of the balcony, but I don't know about music. I bet one of the experts on this thread will have your answer!

Marci - Glad you had another fun trip!! I laughed when I read about the "Osbournes" down the hall becasue the way you spelled it, Ozzie's family came right to mind. I knew who you meant though because I know they come every year and stay at the Grand. Nothing but the best of course. (I think it would have been pretty cool to see the Osbournes at the GF though! Them I would recognize....Jennings nope -wouldn't know them)

I have watched fireworks from the 3rd floor balcony. No music though. It isn't the best view but we've done it with our friends.

They had the music piped in down near the marina when I was there over Thanksgiving and that is the better view.

The music is not piped in, but you can faintly hear it if the wind is right, or if all is quiet below.

DH and I had a dinner on that balcony one night, and were treated to Holiday Wishes on our left, and then the high fireworks from IllumiNations (and at the holidays, there are a lot of them with that finale!) on our right. It was very cool! We could faintly hear the Holiday Wishes music (obviously, no Epcot music).

Someone had a great party down at the marina one of the nights we were there, so they had huge speakers for wishes. I could not hear any piped in music on NYE. Of course, that could have been because the Grand gave out several different kinds of noisemakers that night.

when we were checking in RPC ,one of the CM's said that the RPC lounge tile floors were being redone. Has anyone else heard this? With people saying that the main building lobby floors are being redone, I'm wondering if the RPC floors are being done at the same time?!?

We've never received one of those postcards with discount codes either, and we stay at the GF twice a year!!! What's UP with Disney???

Thanks, Marci. We'll see which ones I keep. I just can't NOT have tickers in my signature - got to have a reason to get up and go to work every day!

I'm fairly confident we'll do the cruise and I know we'll go back to WDW in December (likely an AKL concierge and GF - maybe RPC? stay). I might try to hold out on going back to WDW until Dec., but don't know if I can do it! I have the Poly booked just in case.

I need to call CRO, but would bet tomorrow's paycheck there won't be any codes tied to us either.

Yes!! I have been really lucky for real!! It sure does count! I didn't mean to sound like a spoiled brat. I was kind of just kidding with the big moaning. That whole Thanksgiving thing was just a surprise and prior to any Disney stay I always question the cost of the trip and is it worth the cost etc.....KNOWING I was getting a great deal ahead of time would be neat....It would be nice to feel like Disney appreciates our repeat business, I guess. That's more clearly how I feel about these "random" 40% discount offers.

Heatherlynn, I am pulling for ya. If I hear anything I will let you know.

I never get those postcards either. I just switched our April Poly ressies for Sugar Loaf with a AAA discount. Any chance of an AP rate for Sugar Loaf?

I"m curious - can you book a castle (theme park) view at the Grand? If yes does anybody know if all the rooms (non-conceirge) are in Boca Chica?
