DisneyBride03 - LOL about calling CRO fast, I've been in the same position - you want to hold your breath while dialing, then speed through that automated list!

JoBird - Three days to go, woohoo!:dance3:

kaffinito - Thanks for the onsite report - awesome news regarding the wifi, I hope they continue to provide it.

Sorry to hear about the frustration with the ferry after EMH; everyone expected it to be a pain, but I had hoped they were wrong.:headache:

Have a Grand vacation.:wizard:

ldymcbth - :welcome: Great input regarding young ones in the World. Our youngest was 6 on our first trip, so I have no experience. I'll need these tips when I finally have grandbabies.:goodvibes

ZacharyW - how wonderful that Nana will be able to accompany you - for everyone.:cloud9:

I love the picture KCmike! As we start our third night without power in NJ that picture takes me to my happy place!

Oh, my goodness, I hope you get power back soon! Has it been very hot where you are? We still have upper 90s and lower 100s here, no a/c would be horrible. Do you have any flooding? Best of luck to you and everyone affected by the hurricane (and earthquake, sheesh).:grouphug:

KC Mike - Splash Mtn. is one of our favorites, too, although we have a tough time choosing a fave at the MK. Whenever we start to list them, it ends up being a top 10!:rotfl:

Hey yall-
After much deliberation we have a main building (club level) standard room with theme park view room booked.
From your experience, what can we expect from this type of room?
We love the added convenience of club level. And we haven't experienced it before but I think we'll love sitting outside in the morning and evening on our balcony!
We have 2 kids-4 yr old and 3 months (6 months time of trip). We opted for the convenience of main building over the perks of an outer building suite.

What are the chances of being able to upgrade (meaning ask/pay for upgrade) to a main building suite on time of arrival?

ugh....

heads up for anyone traveling the week of september 26.......

they're DRAINING the seven seas lagoon. they're making brides switch out of the wedding pavilion because they said it will look awful that week--how terrible to tell them 4 weeks prior after their final payments are already in. don't know how that will work with the boat, etc. should be interesting to hear more.

:scared1:

I have never heard of them doing that before! The whole thing?! How frustrating for those brides! :sad2:

ETA: You should probably create a new thread about this. I have a feeling a lot of people will be upset about it. What about those paying to stay at the Poly/GF for that Seven Seas Lagoon view?? And how would the WL boat get to the MK? How long will the lagoon be drained? Crazy...

apparently it's just that week--and will be quick. i'm still kind of in shock that it's even possible.

i don't have many details, and hope as more come thru that i can share. i'm subscribed to a thread on the wedding board where a poor girl was just told that her wedding has to be moved. she's in talks with them today so hopefully more details come out!!

Please tell me this isn't true...How sad,we arrive 24th Sept for 8 nights.Need more info, with the lagoon drained there will be no boats, more people to travel on the monorail. The view of the lagoon will be dreadful.

This is very interesting - thanks for posting! I hope there will be lots of photos of the drained Lagoon:hyper:

Were you notified by WDW because your wedding is at the Poly? I can't seem to find an online reference to the draining. This must have something to do with the DVC construction. I believe the boundary for the project extends into the Lagoon between the beach near the pool and the beach near the Wedding Pavilion.

Holy cow !! That's horrible ! I wonder why they're draining it ? I'm glad we're not going to be there. I'd really hate to be a bride looking out on that... or have paid for a lagoon view. There's going to be some ANGRY folks out there !

And, for those staying for PM EMH, they will not have the boat (or the monorail) that week - only the bus.

Great point about the LV - will those booked views receive a credit or will they be re-classified as DLV (Dry Lagoon View):sad2:

If anyone finds out an exact timeline on this, can they please post it? Looks like they are getting ready to begin very serious construction, very soon and those guests there at the beginnings (when the superstructure is going up) are likely to be the most effected. (And, yes, I may be among them.)

I'm still kind of in shock that Disney isn't proactively informing guests, especially at it's most expensive resort, in it's most expensive rooms, of these issues up front. Any hotel worth its salt, even your average Hilton, would do this when booking, so guests aren't shocked (and angry) to walk into a construction zone. If I didn't frequent these boards, I'd have no idea and any questions I've asked of IPO have been pretty summarily dismissed. Not exactly "magical" service, in my opinion.

This is all I got.....

Stay tuned I guess :(

As of now, it says it'll only be 1-2 weeks in September, so I should be okay in November......... so far :sad2:
Thanks for the link. It seems from your link that this morning someone reported that their Wedding Planner found out that the Lagoon was being dredged and not drained and that it was the construction noise that they felt would disrupt the wedding.

I'm glad your wedding won't be impacted!

That sounds more realistic.Dredging is nowhere near as drastic as draining but still not a nice experience on your stay at GF

yeah looking a little better now..... funny how things spiral like that. i was trying to think about it logistically all morning and just didn't see how it would be feasible.

dredging.... draining.... i know she feels bad that her fiance used the wrong word and scared half the disboards, lol.... but it still will be ugly over that way and i feel terrible for those who are impacted. i have a feeling this will just continue over the next 2 years. there's also a good thread over on the wedding boards from a girl that took pictures of the walls last night.

trying to think of the big picture when i'm signing a big check to buy into the GF DVC, but it is kind of in the way for now. sorry for the scare--i was just the messenger!
