what are the laundry facilities like at the GF? Where is it located and about how many machines are available?

The Polynesian had a very nice laundry. Never did find that hidden mickey bubble :earsboy:

Sorry for asking such a mundane question amid all this talk of pool cabanas, chaise lounges and relaxation. My three sons can find a way to get dirty anywhere they are and even though we will be on vacation, laundry will need to be done.

Thanks.

The laundry facilities are in each and every room at the Grand.....you open the closet door and hanging on a hanger is the laundry bag, fill it up and leave it outside your door and miraculously the next day the clothing inside the bag is all clean and ready for use!

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

sorry I had to do that!

You can also do your own laundry in coin operated facilities that are located on the bottom level of each of the lodge buildings. Each room does not have a lot of machines but we were always able to find a machine with minimum wait.

The :rotfl2: in hysterics ( and not laughter mind you) would be my DH when the bill would come. To keep the peace, and possibly a seat at the chef's table at V & A ( your post on that is amazing :worship: ) I could do a few loads of laundry.

He really doesn't want to go to Disney. He would prefer a house at the beach for a week. :sad2:

Are there laundry facilities in the main building?

TA!

OK, here's the deal...I have a house at the beach (5 minute walk) in Plymouth, MA. I can have the place all stocked with food and liquor!

We'll send him there....I'll come with YOU to Disney and we'll send your DH the bill for Disney!

The kids go to the beach right? :rolleyes1

What a kind offer and I am sure you would be a great tour guide at Disney!

EVEN better....the house has 3 bedrooms that can sleep up to 7 people and there are 2 futons in the livingroom for another 4 and a daybed on the screen porch for 1 more.

We can send a total of 12 people to the cottage at the beach!

When are we going?

Yup, 2nd floor. Isn't it silly sometimes what we will pay for and what we won't. I'll plunk down the extra cash for a concierge room, but then I insist on doing my own laundry  . Oh well, I'm with you on this one. By the way, the GF has a beach :teeth:, does that qualify?

MisterDisney, I didn't know you had a place in Plymouth. We're on the Northshore. Had a lovely stay at the John Carver Inn last summer. The kids loved the indoor water park. The downtown Plymouth area is just beautiful.

Ayup...our cottage is in the Manomet section of Plymouth. We bring our dogs and take a lot of trips to the drive on beach up there. Downtown Plymouth is excellent....lots of antique stores etc.

You are so right, Tammi. I don't buy myself any souveniers (well, once in a while) as there isn't anything that I care about THAT much. I care about not having to do laundry and cook!!

I have been to WDW over 30 times and I could not tell anyone where to look for W/D in any of the resorts. I steer clear of them!

Everyone has their own priorities on vacations, I guess.

Happy planning!

Alrighty, I have a deliema...

I called IPO yesterday and asked a simple question to which the CM was clueless. I looked through my records and saw she had helped me before with the same problem - she is clueless!!! I called again today and got her, so I "oops wrong number"ed and hung up.

So any recommendations of someone to ask for. I have a couple of things I need to do and they HAVE TO BE PERFECT!!!

Thanks.

Joey (girl) and Travis have been super helpful for me. Call and ask for them. Better yet, when I get home, I can give you Travis' and Joey's email addresses.

Whenever I emailed them, they would respond within 24 hours normally.

For anyone who is considering grocery shopping or wego shop for items like bottled water, milk and juices, I just found out that Goodings delivers to the Disney resorts. They have an online website where you can order 48 hours in advance. There is a minimum of $50 per order and a $10 service charge. They have a florist department and can do inscriptions on cakes. Nice to have another option.

I would like to have those emails also if it isn't too much trouble.

TIA,

Me too, Mister Disney!

I'm with garada3 and Tammi on the laundry. With 3 children, I have a lot of laundry. I can't even imagine what it would cost for the GF to do our laundry. :faint:

Thanks! Do they assist with both RPC and SL? Should I "mention" you or will I get terrible service if I do? :rotfl:

I think they do both. If they don't they will refer you to the appropriate person. Uhm, mentioning me? Well, as much as some of my "reviews" here on the DIS have people thinking of me as a Celebrity....I doubt they would remember me. :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:
