I am such a Disneyaholic that I just booked for Labor Day weekend at the Beachclub with the new rates that just came out. I already have free airfare with my Southwest credits. I had enough credit for both this trip and my December trip. "Thanks for cheap rates Southwest"

You are not alone. It's a sickness we all share. The Disney Flu!!! LOL! :lmao: Congrats on another trip! :thumbsup2

Mainly I wanted to see if I could get some help with ADR's. Nice early times (traveling with little ones) and for 10 people. But, when I call, there are no early reservations. So, I wanted to see if a concierge might be able to help with that.
Unfortunately, lobby concierge cannot assist you until you physically arrive at the resort. Pre-planning is a benefit for those staying on the club level. Considering you have such a large group, I'm guessing that you were in contact with the Grand Gatherings people. They are your best bet for finding dining accommodations for a party that large. If you haven't been in touch with them already, I highly suggest you do so. They'll link reservations and other things at no fee to you, which can at least make your travel a little bit easier. I believe they can be reached at 407-WDW-MAGIC.

Thank you. We do have a GG #. I did not think to contact them regarding this dining issue. :goodvibes

OK - princessesrule4 Forgive me for quoting you so long after the fact (06-07-07), but is this information correct? Did you see work being done? I am reading such mixed reviews of the rehab down at the GF. If the Honeymoon rooms are done, then I want one!! There is a room avail. during my dates in mid-august for a Deluxe Club level room King bed. I can get it at the passholder rate. Is this one of the Honeymoon rooms?? And can I assume the room will def. be a "new" one by then? I thought I'd read the Main Bldg. was going to be done last. Confusion, confusion. Maybe I need to just book it and then email IPO...

Good question. It doesn't seem that there is a clear answer to this one! But, I'll have the answer for you in two weeks after I return from my disneymoon, since we're booked into a RPC honeymoon room. :cloud9: If you do e-mail IPO about it, let us know what they say!

I'll save you a step, because the Grand Gatherings folks will just transfer you to group dining. I've found they're great in helping with those large reservations - their # is 407.939.7707. (They can also assist you with your smaller dining reservations, too.)

Congrats to all those leaving so soon. I hope you have magical times! :cloud9: Please do some scouting for us! ;)

I hope everyone leaving soon/now is going to have an EXCELLENT stay at The Grand :cloud9:

I am personally freaking out, trying to decide about upgrading to RPC. I'm actually going to do it TONIGHT. I just need to know what to get.

It is going to be DD (10) and me for this portion of our stay. My best friend and her DD are joining us at the BC afterwards.

I have seen some "HONEYMOON ROOM" pics from honeymooners, etc. and I really want one of those rooms. DD would be in heaven!

Please explain to me (Tammi/lynr/whomever) ??:rolleyes1 the difference b/w standard room-Club Level and Deluxe Room-King-Club Level.

When traveling alone w/ DD we share a bed, so I do not mind one King bed:thumbsup2

THANK YOU - I WANT TO CALL CRO TONIGHT AND BOOK RPC:wizard:

How much of a walk is it to the Poly? I am the early riser in our group and I am thinking it would be nice to walk over to the coffee bar a few mornings for a real cup of coffee.

Channing???? Are you packed and ready to go??????????

Quick question for you about your DD's Tink cake- what size did you get? I want to do something with Private Dining for our anniversary and the cake thread says they will only personalize 10" cakes of larger. The 3 of us could take a month to eat a cake that big  Just checking to see if the above rumor is true?

I know Janet2K and her DD shared a honeymoon turret suite and they loved it as well. There are quite a few differences between the two styles. The standard honeymoon rooms are all located on the 2nd floor. All are the same size as a regular room, but they have jacuzzi tubs, king beds and the balcony looks out over the marina and the castle. About the only drawback I've heard is that you do have a bit of a walk to the club lounge. The turret suites are located on the 3rd, 4th and 5th floor. They're about twice the size as a regular room, have standard tubs and no balcony, just the palladium bow windows. Three of the rooms offer a panoramic view from the monorail around to the beach, the other three offer a view from the Wedding Chapel around to the castle. We had 4021, which was 5th floor, castle view. Janet2K and her DD had 4321, which was 3rd floor, same area and they had the private concierge balcony right outside their door.

I have the floor plans on my website, http://home.comcast.net/~tammimcmanus/gf_rooms.htm if you want to take a look. Just scroll down to the very last ones and you'll see the two options. Whichever you decide, you can't guarantee which style you'll get, but you can put in a request if you want.

Channing & Kelly~ Have absolutely fabulous, magical trips! :wizard: I cannot wait to hear all about them and see pictures. I think it is great you get to meet!:cool1:

All the talk of your packing is starting to stress me out though:rotfl2: I am going to pack as lightly as possible for us, which means 1-2 outfits per day, 2-3 shoes and bare necessities for toiletries. I am really good at packing light for work, but I do not do quite as well for family trips. My goal is always that everyone has one carry on and one small to medium suitcase tops. I think I should be able to do it since clothes for July are so small :rotfl:

17 days for me, I guess I should at least start making packing lists!

Hi, just taking a break from my packing & cleaning. ;)

YES, it is ridiculous, but true. That was actually one of my questions the other morn that was met with blank air space. Last year for my 40th I had to order the 10 inch so I just wanted to double check if something had changed in the year. Nope nothing changed - well maybe the price. It is A LOT of cake. We nibbled on it here and there and wound up tossing over half. If you want a special, personalized one of a kind cake, it has to be a 10 inch. My bday cake was fabulously delicious.....My DD's chocolate Minnie head cake we ordered from GF and had delivered to her at 1900 PF was awful -really cute, but the cake was just gross. I am taking a leap of faith trying again.:wizard:

Happy planning,

Channing :)

Packing and cleaning.......... the one part about vacation that I hate!!! (but I do love coming home to a clean house!!)

I was afraid that was going to be the answer. I want to do something to commemorate our anniversary but not sure what. Maybe a bottle of champagne with those tuxedo strawberries and the white chocolate wedding mickey and minnie? But for what that would cost, I might as well just get the cake with the same chocolate statue... :confused3
Oh well, 2 months to decide...

What does everyone here think I should do????

Happy packing!!
Kristin

I did it!! :cool1:

I just upgraded my reservation to RPC. Tammi - thank you so much for your help and for the room layouts:thumbsup2 I did confirm that I have a "BP" coded room and have requested the octagonal, 600+ square footage room:wizard:

I cannot believe I will be staying in the Main Building for the very first time in 13 years of staying at The Grand princess:

I hope I will hear from GF IPO re. my stay. That will be a really good sign:wizard:

Thanks everyone for your help and, again, have a magical vacation to those of you who are getting ready to leave :cutie:

Way to go, johnsonet, high five! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you end up with one of those octagonal rooms, DD and I stayed in 4021 last Christmas, it was gorgeous!

Hey k&a&c'smom! Thanks  You KNOW how excited I am!!
Should I request a particular room? I need to go back thru this thread and look at pics, etc. I don't want to stress over it, though. And, obviously, I want the best views and most romantic rooms to go to any honeymooners who might be staying there at the time:thumbsup2 But barring that, I want the most magical room ;) Especially for DD's sake!! :wizard: I'm just going to be thrilled to be in RPC :cloud9: The one time we had use of the lounge, we were staying in a suite in Conch Key and were only there for a few nights and it was FREEZING. Walking over to the Main Bldg. and taking the elevator up to the lounge was NOT the most convenient. I can't WAIT to be in that main bldg:dance3:

If you're staying on the 3d or 5th floors, and the lounge is on the 4th (is that right??), is there a stairway that lets you get from one floor to another, or must you take an elevator??

hi all, speaking of octagonal rooms in the main bldg - does anyone know if they all come with king beds or do some have 2 queens? thanks in advance
