Lives4Disney, I am with you on this. I try to pack light but can never seem to do it. We went away to a weekend soccer tornament for my son, and you would have thought that we were packed for a week at Disney! I can't wait to hear about your trip! Have fun!

Hi! I'm the one that's been looking for the Alice dress for DD & our 1900 Park Fare meal in Dec. Well, I went onto Craigslist, which I had never done & highly recommend! There was a lady in my area that had several costumes, including Alice, and I was able to get it for DD for $5. Only problem is that I had her try it on once we got home & she started crying & screaming. I guess it was too itchy & she wanted it off! So, it looks like I'll be shelling out the big bucks for the real dress & hopefully she'll wear that one!

Does anyone have the # for me to contact a non "concierge" level concierge? We will be in a standard room and I would like to contact the concierge before I travel if that is possible.

Calls go to a call center and not necessarily the resort. My guess is that you'd be connected to general guest services for any questions you might have. Is there something specific you're looking for, perhaps we can help direct you to the right place.

I wonder if Calvin is the only one in IPO?? He also responded to my emails and really quickly, too.

I am glad the IPO has improved. When it was bad it was BAD & it really gave a shabby first impression of the GF. So happy they do seem to have gotten it together over there.

We leave Friday afternoon.....my overpacking has begun. I am so horrible at packing and I really wanted to pack light this time. I am thinking w/ the heat we will go out, swim, go out.....need two outfits ea/day....with 5 of us that is close to 50 outfits packed.

I am a horrible packer. I can see us loading the car and having to unload and rethink everything. I always think I will make life easier on myself w/less laundry when we get back by packing less. It never happens!! We like a change of clothes daily due to teh heat....And then there's all the Disney "gear".......you know the stuff.

Channing, I feel your pain on packing. We are going for 10 days at the end of August which will mean 20 outfits for each of us (I can't do laundry on vacation... its my vacatation too! )

OK, well I guess I am packing light!! I usually pack two outfits per day per person, too!!! This time I am down to 10 or 11 per person w/tons of extra undies & socks and a couple extra shirts. I am a shoe fanatic, too, and that gets me into trouble, LOL....I really cut back on the shoes this time. I might sneak a pair in my purse, haha.

I don't like to do laundry on vacation, either, but maybe I will have to.

That is so funny - DD and I have one whole suitcase for our shoes,too! Of course, hers are little so there are 2 of hers for each pair of mine! DH just rolls his eyes at us!

hey everyone!
so...my boyfriend and i just went to disney a few weeks ago, stayed at the poly..and were so dissapointed . For some reason the cleaning really wasnt' up to snuff, the CMS were not that great and i thought for the price we paid it just wasn't worth it..other than the monorail and Kona coffee everymorning. HOWEVER we really want to go back for xmas time and think the GF is the way to go..we walked through there and it was so open and clean and Narcoosees really blew us away. Is it worth it to splurge on Sugar loaf concierge for Christmas time is my question..and do the rates actually go down a bit for the begining of Dec??? thanks so much for any help!!!

Yes. Looks as though 11/25-12/19 will be Value Season at the Deluxes.
Your problem at GF will be finding availability. It is basically the #1 resort as far as decorations for the holidays
I love the Poly and am sorry you were disappointed. I'm sure you'll be very happy with the GF. I have stayed there probably 15 times since 1994 and absolutely love it there!!

Okay Channing, You got me going!(just kidding) I checked RPC for our 2 nights in August but it was N/A! So, I booked YC GVC because they had great AP rates! So, I'll have to wait 5 whole months to stay RPC again! Until then, I'll be living vicariously through you all with upcoming trips! My kids are really excited for SAB though and to be so close to Epcot! We've only stayed GF for the past 6 trips so I may be going into GF withdrawal!

i do the same thing! one big bag of shoes all for me! and one for makeup/hair stuff etc.
