Yeah, I don't even bother requesting the fridge ahead of time. I just call housekeeping as soon as we get in to our room. That seems to always work fine for us.

I wonder if the room redesign will have the fridge already in every room like at the other resorts that have had the redesign. Just don't take away my minibar! :teeth:

Thanks. Any particular room?

We like the higher floors for the view! I don't remember our particular rooms, but we had a doremer room one time and a great lagoon view on the 4th floor which was non dormer! Big Pine Key is our favorite building - we've had great rooms with wonderful views both times! And it's very close to the Main Building!

just wanted to pop in to say that i have finally read ALL 303 pages.:surfweb: thanks so much for all the information and pictures. i'm planning on going back to the GF dec 2008 and have gathered heaps of useful tips. i'm sure i'll be back w/ some questions later. again, thanks a bunch.

Can anyone tell me if the greeter is still at the front doors of the Floridian? He is a little elderly man and wears an early 1900's uniform. He is just so nice, and we always have a nice little chat with him when we see him. One of the CM's was telling me that he lives in the hotel and works everyday greeting everyone.

He was there in October - he's so sweet! We'll be there next week so I'll let you know unless someone who has just returned pops in to answer!

Yes, he was there this past weekend. I saw him posing with a bride for a picture.

But aren't there at least two different greeters?

Oh, Channing you asked about the current greeting for club level guests. We were met by a CM who walked us back to Sugar Loaf for checkin by one of the CMs there. It was fine with us. We were not escorted directly to our room but it was not ready anyway. In the past at the Polynesian, we have been taken directly to the room by bell services if the room is ready and that was very nice.

But we don't really care how it works...we're just glad to be there!

At AKL, we were taken directly to our room as well. At GF we were met at the curb by an RPC CM and taken up to the desks. I actually sort of preferred the way that they handled things at RPC, as we wer offered beverages when we checked in, and then were taken up to the lounge by Mejay, who showed us where everything was and gave us a sort of mini tour. When we returned later that evening, we were taken to our room.

At AKL, I had to go to the desk with my credit card later anyway, and we had to find the lounge on our own (not that it was hard) and sort of self-tour and self-assess.

We wanted to try something new! We have a habit of eating at our tried and true favorites and need to branch! We ate at Narcoossees last year and enjoyed it but wanted to try something new at the GF when we are staying there next week! Thanks for your help!:)

We are staying in the RPC for Thanksgiving, it is our first time at the GF. We are very excited about the trip. I have read through lots of pages about this resort, but I can't seem to find many details about the CL specificly in the RPC. I would love any details or tips.

Not sure exactly what info you need but RPC is wonderful- can't wait to be back there next week! The food is great and we love to sit in the lounge and have a glass of wine ( sprite for the kids)and listen to the orchestra! Don't miss the chocolate covered strawberries and the desserts in the evening. The lounge staff are so nice and they put up a flat screen tv last year so it seems roomier in the lounge. My kids like to go to the 3rd floor lounge and play checkers, too. Hope this helps! You will love it!:thumbsup2

Hi Tia - Welcome to the boards, I too am new to the boards, but not new to Disney. November is a good month to be here as the temperature will be much more comfortable and you will experience a more enjoyable trip. Will share some of my experiences at a later time. Looking forward to conversing with you.
