Well, I finally did it! I made my ressie for the honeymoon.
Coronado Springs, here we come! :cool1:

Has anyone here done the dining pass & was it worth it? I know everyone says that booking everything through Disney is expensive but it seems to be really easy. It's almost like you can do an all inclusive feel with meals & recreation paid for in the Premium pkg. Has anyone done it?

I don't have AAA or an AP so my options for discounts are kinda limited. Plus, with planning the wedding, I don't want to wait to long to get things going.

Anyway, super duper excited!!!
Thanks for all your input!
Have a great time!

First, I just wanted to say hi.... I have been reading this board for many weeks and finally decided to post....This board and especially this thread is such a wealth of information.... I have gone to Disney for years and even worked there years ago, but I always find so many helpful hints and ideas here....

Quick question, I am going to be at Coronado for 12 nights at the end of September and it will be my husband's birthday... I wanted to do something special for him and I thought a gift certificate for a massage at the spa might be nice...any idea of the cost and if I can pre-purchase?

Thanks for any responses..

I just came back from CSR and went to the health club. Inside the health club are the massage rooms. The health club is near the Casitas quiet pool.

There was a pamphlet describing the massage costs. I don't have it handy but it all depended on what you wanted. I want to say one 1/2 hour was about $45-55 and a whole hour was in the $75-85 range. There was a combo massage that was a more as well.

I guess you could call the hotel, get transferred to the health club, pay for the masage with a credit card over the phone or just slip out and pay for it while you two are settling in.

We are interested in upgrading to CS from Pop. We have the Magic Your Way Package Plus Dining pkg which we have already paid in full. Does anyone know if I can easily transfer my reservation? I know there is any extra $300 or some more to stay at CS but can they transfer my paid balance and just pay the difference? Thanks!

I'm not sure how that works. Any help for huey578? I would just call CRO and ask. I can't see why you would not be able to? You may want to post this question on a separate thread to get more responses.

I would also just call CRO this morning. I know there is a "change fee" on the package, but they may waive it if you are upgrading from a value to a moderate.

I was originally booked value and then decided to go upgrade to CSR. They changed the difference and we all just paid it in full.

I would guess you could call your TA or CRO and change it.

Has anyone else seen the alligator at CS? He's in the lake. He's about 3 feet long - very cute actually. A CS CM said he has been there for a while - and many of the guests feed him leftovers.

Actually, let me clarify...he's very cute as long as he stays in the lake. :rotfl2:

Hi, Forumites...just wanted to share my not-so-pleasant experience at Coronado.

No kids here, just me and spouse. Checked in on Wednesday morning, was told our room was ready. Went to our room and unpacked. We requested a smoking room...no ashtray in room. Called housekeeping, waited half-hour, never came. Finally, I went looking for someone and got an ashtray.

Came back from park in the afternoon thirsty. No bag in ice bucket. Called housekeeping, waited another half-hour, no bag was delivered. Went again to find someone and was met rudely by a valet person who seemed very dismayed that a guest was walking around the corridors. He brought a bag so we could get some ice in our bucket.

Spouse and I hit the evening fun out at the parks, returned to our room at 10:00 p.m. Spouse turned down his bed to find a two-foot by two-foot YELLOW STAIN which smelled of urine on his fitted sheet on the bed. We turned up the fitted sheet to find the same stain had gone through to the mattress pad and mattress. Called housekeeping, waited 25 minutes for them to come. No one came, so we called hotel manager. We weren't able to speak with manager, instead were transferred back to housekeeping. Housekeeping manager sent a maid to "look at it". She thought we had done it. After explaining this was our first day at hotel and had been in parks all day, housekeeping manager finally offered to put us in another room, with assistance to get all of our now-unpacked things to the other room. No help came. Spouse and I did it all ourselves at 11:30 at night.

Now in our new room, toilet is broken and plugged from previous guests. Called housekeeping...guess what? You got it, no one came. I finally marched down to the front desk and demanded to speak with hotel manager. Our room was supposed to be free, but I'm still waiting on a credit a week later. That night in our new room, spouse turned down sheets to find a large cockroach running down his sheets.

This place doesn't seem to change sheets in between guests. They have roaches. Housekeeping doesn't respond to calls. Do they clean the toilets or sinks in between guests? Who knows. I doubt it. My skin is still crawling. I will NEVER stay at a Disney resort again. I've had a better, cleaner experience at a Motel 6.

Thoroughly disgusted Floridian and Disney Passholder for 20+ years :(

My DD got a few pics of it. The CM told us there are 2 and that they go back and forth between the 2 lakes. They will leave them alone until they get to be about 4 feet long and then they will be moved for everyones safety.

Welcome to the CSR thread and the DIS!

Clinton Corssings, is that the outlet mall that had the Disney Store Outlet? Made many trips there.

I won't be back to CSR until April but can't wait so your ahead of the game.

Hi, Forumites...just wanted to share my not-so-pleasant experience at Coronado.

Please don't take this the wrong way but I just find it hard to believe you just joined the DisBoards AFTER you went to WDW and came and found this one thread and posted a horrible report with not one positive thing on it and then say you will never stay at ANY Disney resort ever again :confused3

Maybe this did all happen to you and I am sorry if it did but reviews so negative and generalized from a person who only has this one post to his credit - well you all know what I mean - right?

Anyway I am STILL excited - 18 more days to go

Sorry if this has been covered - I did a search, but couldn't find anything. My question is, have any of the CSR been refurbished??? I noticed a picture of a cabana room and it was decorated in different colors than when we stayed in that section...Thanks!!! Can't wait to go back in August 06!!! :goodvibes

Suzanne, not taken the wrong way at all. I thought this was a public forum, a forum that the public can go to and find all kinds of info and opinions on, both good and bad.

Yes, that was my first post. I had no idea this forum even existed. I bought some green tea in Japan at Epcot and Googled those words to find out how long I needed to steep my tea and found this board. Once I found it and saw resort forum, I was just curious if anyone else had had such an experience at Coronado, that's all.

This was not my first stay at Coronado. We were there for a week in May, and we had no troubles at all. It just seems that something has happened there in the last couple months. We stay at Disney resorts and off-site resorts two, three times a year. Maybe I was wrong, but I've always thought of Disney resorts as the "Gold Standard".

Believe what you want, but I would strongly suggest you check your sheets before you unpack there. I don't expect things to be "perfect" at any hotel anywhere, but I do expect sheets to be changed in between guests.

I truly hope you enjoy your stay and have a much better experience than we did. I've already booked for two days in December and four days in January, but off-site :teeth:

I have no idea if the poster is a troll, maybe even a member with a new identity but several times I talked to someone on the plane coming back from MCO. We talk about Disney and I mention internet board like disboards and mousesavers. It's certainly possible for a first post to be after a trip.

I hope that's not over NYE! I would never stay off-site over NYE. To each their own, though.

I'm sorry you had a bad stay. I would follow up with them on the refund, although I would have expected the amount to be removed from your bill before you checked out.
