Just got back and the waterslide was OPEN!!! the reports were not correct about the close. It was open every day for the whole week we were there.
Sorry about your experience at the PM. I encourage you to write a letter or email to WDW. The PM is not run by CSR or WDW. It's good that you bring this to Disney's attention.

The Coronado Springs Hotel is located at: 1000 West Buena Vista Drive; Lake Buena Vista, Florida 32830-1000; Telephone: (407) 939-1000; Fax: (407) 939-1001

Thanks Buzz!!! Do you know if the hotel will charge a handling fee for the water?

The negatives:
bathrooms were in need of update (moldy grout...yuck!)
and the worst of all negatives...the Pepper Market was terrible for us with our food allergies. It was consistently awful each time we went. They were down right rude to us (multiple people) and it was the WORST service we received for our special dietary needs ANYWHERE on disney property. (adding that the chefs were not rude to us, it was the manager who was VERY rude, and multiple hosts/ servers, 5 to be exact) Really so far below what we expect from Disney. So much so, in fact, we won't go back to CSR. If I can't get my daughter some gluten free/dairy free breakfast without pain, attitude, and hassle, I don't want to stay there. I did ask for help and I did complain once, but it got me no where. Just rude responses.

Pepper Market was really our only problem with CSR. The food was just mediocre, and the staff weren't very friendly, except for the kind little old lady manning the bakery station. I had a beef stir fry at the asian section... it was less stir fry, and more stew. Seriously, one of the best things about a stir fry is that it is fast and easy to prepare fresh. Properly prepared ingredients can be stirfried in about two minutes. This was made well ahead of time and had been stewing in a steam tray all day, it seemed. The vegetable were soft, not crisp as stir fry veggies should be. Oh yeah, and the noodles? Linguine is not an acceptable substitute for Asian noodles.:headache:

Other than that, we loved CSR. The convenience of location made it so easy to come back in the hot afternoon and take breaks, and use the pool. For that reason alone we'll probably go back.

We will be at CSR from Dec 13-19. We were told that the waterslide MAY be closed for our stay? Does anybody (BUZZ???? ) Know what dates, if any, the slide is scheduled for closure?

We will be there ALMOST the same time...12/15-12/21. I HOPE the waterslide isn't closed....that's part of the reason why I'm staying there. Someone please let us know!

Buzz - need one more question answered please. We will be at CSR Christmas week. We need to rent a car for just one day to drive out to a town to look at real estate. We don't want to rent a car at the airport for a whole week just to use it one day. The Christmas week prices are outta sight. So are there car rental agencies at CSR that I could deal with directly and try to get a one day rental?

thank you

My SIL rented a car for a day from the Care Care Center. I think it is Alamo. They will pick you up.

We just got back on Sunday. The slide was open at least until last Thursday, Nov. 29, not sure about after that. The water in the pool was cold to me.

The hot tub is open until midnight and was never very crowded.

I requested Cabanas 8A (like everyone else) to be close to the hot tub, but got Casitas 3 - just about as far away as you can get! However, I'd made up my mind to be happy wherever they put us, and it was fine. I actually like the look of the Casitas better, and DH was glad to be close to the Health Club. We were also on the first floor, which I wanted but forgot to request (probably a good thing - if they knew I wanted it, I'd have ended up on the top floor - LOL)

We had a couple of Mousekeeping issues when we checked in. The top of the armoire had trash and crumbs all over it, and there was no coffee. Since it was 2 am I waited until the next morning to call. They sent someone over immediately with 4 packages of coffee and the Mousekeeper arrived within 20 minutes. No problems after that with Mouskeeping.

The beds were okay for the first few nights (except that we're used to sleeping on a queen size and DH and I are both Pooh-sized, so it was cramped). The 4th or 5th day we both woke up with a back ache, so I think the mattress was too soft for us.

We ate at the Pepper Market twice, plus DD got a late-night calzone a couple of other times. It was okay - the food was pretty good and not too crowded, but we did eat at off times - around 4 in the afternoon and around 7:30 at night. The first time we got it "to go" and ate outside by the lake. It was really nice and peaceful! We saw a huge turtle swimming in the lake.

Buses - just like everyone has said - never very crowded (except at park closing and even then not bad). After staying at PC many times and having to walk to the very last bus stop, I was so excited to find out that the bus stop at the MK for CS is the first one!

We decorated our windows with Disney Christmas clings and the 3rd day someone stole the one with Pooh, Tigger and Eeyore :sad2: I did take a picture and I'll try to post it later. I walked around and only saw one other window decorated.

Final thoughts: We really enjoyed CS and would definitely stay here again. I've stayed at all the mods and this is my 2nd favorite (after POFQ). We've mostly stayed at values in the past few years and I'd forgotten how nice it is to have a coffee pot, refridgerator, ceiling fan, more toiletries, hot tub, etc.

Really, the only negative, and I know this is not important at all, is that I just can't love the decor. I'm not a big fan of Southwest decor (although the Casitas are lovely), and all the different patterns and colors in the room drive me crazy!

Wait, what? Dont those go on the inside of the window? That would pretty much mean it had to be mousekeeping?!?! :confused3 Or if they were on the outside, could they have fallen down and been thrown away?

Less then 2 days before a trip to CSR, I really dont want to hear that something was ripped off from a hotel room, no matter how 'inexpensive' it is.

We got back a few days ago and loved CSR. We plan on going back soon. We got there the Wed before Thanksgiving and stayed until Sunday.

I had requested cabana 9B and we were in 9A which worried me since it was the former smoking one. When I first walked in there seemed to be a slight mustiness but we turned the air on and I didn't notice any odors the rest of the trip. The view was great, we were on 2nd floor overlooking the pool. There was an elevator so on nights my hip was bothering me I used that, otherwise the stairs were no issue. Mousekeeping was good and the room was cleaned well every day, with new soaps and shampoos stocked. I also appreciated being able to have internet for a reasonable cost in the rooms. I was able to check in with work some nights and deal with any issues. Also, the beds were comfortable for us. While they were smaller than at home, I found I slept very well on them. And we have a sleep number bed at home so i was a little worried about being comfortable.

I truly loved the Pepper market and on the dining plan it was a great value. The only issue I had was it seemed a little chaotic when we were standing in line. There was no clear "the line starts here, ends here" kind of thing. Plus there were a few times we'd wait and wait at a counter before someone would finally show up. This happened more during the slow times than the busy times. The staff was great overall. I eat low carb and there were a few times I had special requests. Only once did I annoy a server at the grill. I requested the breakfast combo (eggs, bacon and a side of potato's) and I asked her to leave off the potatoes. She was unhappy for some reason about that but it made me want to laugh. Maybe I insulted her potato's :)

The buses ran in a timely manner and only twice was it standing room only (I believe this was Thanksgiving day and Friday after this happened). There was one couple waiting at the stop with us (by the main building) who had been waiting for the AK bus for 45 minutes on Friday. They were still waiting when we left so I hope it came soon after that.

I'm not a fan out southwest either, but these grounds are beautiful. I loved the Cabanas but next time I'd like to try the Casitas. They look pretty also, and the fountains they have there are gorgeous at night. The Cabanas are a wonderful beach area, and our son enjoyed laying in the hammocks relaxing at the end of the day. We also enjoyed the hot tub and pool at the Dig Site.

Wait do they charge differently? IMO $10 for 24 hours isnt really 'reasonable' in my, and only my, opinion..

I guess I was comparing to other places we've stayed. For instance, Orange Lake charges $6 an hour. Other places have had similar costs. $9.95 is not cheap, but at least it's for 24 hours and not an hour and a half like I'd get at Orange Lake. So to me it was reasonable :)

Nope, The price is $4.95 per hour or $9.95 for 24-contiguous hours for either service, high speed or wi-fi.

OK, I'll admit there for a while, I thought maybe there was something 'different' going on at the convention resorts :D.. Hey, I'm allowed to hope :goodvibes

I think free internet would be great, but then again I don't imagine myself wanting to be on the internet all that much while at WDW except to upload pics and post updates on here. :)

$9.95...I would pay that for 24 hours. A hotel I recently stayed at for a conference charged that much per half-hour.
