Ok, I was told the only dumb question is the one you don't ask...so here goes...

Can anyone explain the process of the Pepper Market to me? I'm not sure I get it?!

You're seated by a host/hostess. A server will take your drink order and ask if you've been here before. Then you go up and pick you dining choices. The server buses your table and gets you refills. They use real silverware and cloth napkins. Check out the back of the card.

Also, when you are seated, your server will hand you a card with blank squares. You will leave your table, and go to the various areas (see layout in Buzz's picture posted above) and order your food. At that time your card will be stamped. Wait until your food is ready, and then return to your table. I prefer to wait until I finish my entree, before I get my dessert. When I'm ready I just walk up to order my dessert, have my card stamped, and return to my table. When we're finished with our meal we take our card to the exit where a cashier can be found, and pay for our meal. It's different than other food courts, but still easier than it sounds. The Pepper Market is great. Enjoy!

Just returned from CSR me my wife and two friends.We enjoyed it the buses where great no wait at all. The grounds where lovely we stayed at cabanas9A

Thank you both for explaining it to me! Makes a lot more sense now, and I think my fiance will be happy to hear that we don't have to go table hunting and do the old "ok you wait here while I get my food, and when I come back, then you can go!"

One thing was left off from the Pepper's Market explaination...and that's the "TO GO" option. If you are planning on taking your meal with you to eat in your room or at many of the lovely places around the resort, just tell the host/hostess that you would like a "to go" ticket. You then go about ordering your food...telling each station that it's "to go" (since many cooks don't look at the ticket when they stamp it). There are plastic utensils and plenty of napkins at the condiment station. There are also large, handled bags at the check-out...in case you buy several things, as I did. When you check-out, you will not be charged the automatic extra 10% gratuity fee.

I did this every time I went to PM in August. It wasn't because of the extra fee. (although that did save us more than $50) It was more because we usually went later in the evening and little ones were back in the room getting ready for bed. I would take one of the older kids and get a bunch of things that we then took back to the room. It was nice to be able to take it back and relax over dinner while the tired little ones (and dh ) went to sleep.

This may not be an option you need, but I thought you ought to know how it works. I didn't quite understand the first time through. Everything is available to go as far as I know. Be sure to get all the toppings and condiments too.

First of all i know that room requests are exactly that,requests,but should i try and contact CSR before we go in Dec?We booked through VH and i emailed them a request which they said that they had passed on.Should i leave it at that or contact them myself?

Thanks! Something else that's great to know! More then likely, we'll probably grab some food and take it somewhere else! I'm such a newbie at CSR....ha ha!

I also heard (over heard) the CSR convention coordinator telling the folks that when the new bar opens (Francisco's is being renovated), that it will be a "full on" night club with a sound system, and over 21 only after 9pm. I'm a bit concerned that it's going to change the atmosphere of the place. I realize they make their $$ on the bar bills for the conventioneers, but if it turns into a night club atmosphere, I may need to look elsewhere for a new favorite resort.

I think it will be great! Another perk for CSR!! I won't have to go to DtD to have a drink and dancing, I can do it right at the resort. Francisco's being in the main building really doesn't effect the pool area and since it is after 9:00pm, the Pepper Market is only open until 11pm. I doubt many families are eating dinner at that time of night.

Regarding this rehab:
"Francisco's, the lounge at the resort, is in the process of being expanded now through October 12, 2007. It will reopen with a bar, lounge, and cafe. La Tienda, the convenience store, will be relocated."

Does anyone know when Francisco's will reopen? Is La Tienda closed? Any updates on this would be appreciated!!

Well, we started this upcoming trip with a ressie at POP. Then after being a little hesitant about staying not staying at a moderate, we decided to book at a mod. CSR was the first choice, but could not get our dates with the FL resident discount. Tried countless times, but decided to book at POR. We had stayed at POFQ last year, and while POR looks lovely, I still wanted to experience a completely different theme if possible.

Then today, CSR opened up and we switched. Did I mention this is the third hotel switch and we check in this Sat?! hahaha

Please tell me I made the right choice! Now I have to think about what area of the resort to request. I have some reading on here to do tonight!

We are headed to CSR in 52 days and I think I actually have a question that I have not seen here before

When you go to check in is there a short term parking area? I don't want to valet park or park far away just to check-in, in case we have to drive some distance to park and unload.

Does Pepper Markey have the same Year of a million dreams as the other resorts or do they have different ones? Also I saw somewhere 2 mugs listed... one for $11.95 and one for $19.95. Can you tell me the difference.

Just stating my opinion about the pepper market- so please don't be offended anyone... but like others- my Dfi and I felt like it was overcrowded and not set up well. The idea and concept was great- it just was too small for such a large resort. The different types of food would have been great if you weren't charged so many seperate amounts for each item....you really had to figure out what could be made into a combination. I like the Pop counter service better because it was more spread out and I could see what each place had more easily. The service was faster too and I didn't get as many bad attitudes from servers as I did at the Pepper Market. There were so many times that we were never waited on when we were seated. The whole 10% extra thing is a joke.

No, just their own CSR mugs. Not sure if they are still selling the larger one.

Hopefully it wont be as crowded at the hotel because then you might be able to get your room request. It's literally like winning the lottery. I don't think you have to call... but see what Buzz says.

When we went in September, the person who helped us didn't even mention anything about our request.....it was on our record....and I understand if they don't have room in a section, but they could have acknowledged that.
