The *NEW* Coronado Springs FAQ Thread (Part II)

1) Are the beds in the room moveable? Both DD's are very restless sleepers. We've requested bedrails for them but since we won't be arriving until midnight, I worry a little that they may be out of bedrails by then. If we could move the beds against the walls, then it won't be so terrible if we don't get the bedrails that first night. yes, you can move the bed closest to the bathroom up against the wall.

2) Does the Chinese food station at Pepper Market serve noodle or rice dishes? Both little girls are somewhat picky eaters but they both could eat Chinese noodle or rice dishes with no problem (probably since that's what they usually eat at home...we're Chinese ) As much as we're going to try to expand their repertoire in Disney, it would be nice to know that we could get them some rice or noodle dishes back at the resort if they're really having a hard time with all of the new foods (my DD could probably eat chicken nuggets and french fries all week but I don't really want that, either, if I can help it) yes, both and the Italian station has plain pasta too.

3) Does anyone know how crowded the buses are around Thanksgiving time? We're leaning towards requesting rooms in the Casitas (even tho it may not matter at all because we're checking in so late at night we may not get our request because it's near the first bus stop (bus stop 2) and we'll be more likely to get seats on the bus and not have buses pass up by because they're already full. Does that sound like a good idea or will it not really matter? Having a full bus is usually not an issue at CSR regardless of the stop. We always get on at stop 3 or 4 and never have any problems.

HLDisney, did you know that you can get the menus for ALL the DW park & resort restaurants at http://allearsnet.com/menu/menus.htm - just in case you haven't heard of Deb Wills' site. This way you can research all the menus to determine which places offer the foods that the girls will like. (Disney is VERY accomodating though, you can make special requests, especially at the table service restaurants.) This menu list has helped me so much when planning our family trips - one of my nieces doesn't want to eat anything but plain pasta! If you've already heard of allears.net - sorry to be redundant. If you're new to the site - ENJOY! It can be very addicting.

FYI, their rice is plain white rice, at least it was with the special I got last week - Beef and Broccoli. BTW, for those not on the dining plan, that dish was easily enough for two people, it was on an enormous plate, nicely presented, and came with a delicious egg roll. Add an extra egg roll and two could have a filling meal.

One other issue about the dining plan at CSR - forgive me if it's been discussed elsewhere in this thread. It caused a little confusion for us so I hope it helps someone else.

I'd read here before our trip that you could use the dining plan for room service at CSR. We had one day we were up till 2am for MNSSHP the night before, and up again the next morning to make an 8am EMH (dumb, I know ). Anyway, by afternoon we decided to cancel our evening ADR and hang out by the pool, have a relaxing evening instead. We thought about getting room service and inquired about it, but they said you could not use the dining plan with room service. They did add you "used to be able to", but not anymore. Thought it might be helpful to know if anyone tries to use it.

We are a group of 7, 4 adults and 3 kids -- we'll also have a full-size stroller and an umbrella stroller most likely. Think we'll have any problems finding space on the buses for all of us at one time?? I'd hate for only half the group to be able to get on the bus!

Very seldom will you encounter crowded buses. Usually leaving parks at closing but even then its not a guaranteed that you will encounter a full bus.

Thanks, Jessica. I actually do know about the menus on the allears website (that's how we decided on our TS ADR's) but I forgot to look at it for Pepper Market's menu....DUH!

Thanks, Pea-n-Me. It's good to know about they offered beef and broccoli with white rice, even though it's not on the allears menu. Simple dishes like that will be good for my DD.

We just booked for 7 nights w/ a lake or pool view and were wondering where we might be placed? Should we request a certain building? We have 3 kids- 6, 4 and 22 months.

Here are some good room choices. Since you are paying for a waterview view, I would request cabana 9b. A waterview room could be located in any section.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool and is also a smoking optional building.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building.

Yes, definitely do it ahead of time. If you already made your ressie, just call back and add the building location to your reservation.

thank you! One more question (for now ), do you know if we could request a king bed-we wanted to bring in an aerobed (wouldn't tell them that though) or would they not allow it due to our occupancy? Is there any way around that?

I'm not 100% sure if that is possible. I know you can bring an aero bed into a double room so I don't see why you couldn't into a king room.

I'm confused now. I called earlier this week to add "non-smoking room" to our request, as well as adding a location request and the CM I spoke to said that I should call the resort itself a few days before our trip to give them a location request, instead of calling now.
