Should find out later if the other tunnel is ok to use, the people are in looking at what damage has been done.

I would be very surprised if there is no damaged as they reckon the fire reached 1000 degrees at one point & it was smoldering/alight for a long time.

They will more then likely open soon with one tunnel but will have to reduce the number of trains because of this.

Eurostar have priority or at least they used to have, due to the fact they pay a lot of money for this priviledge but I would imagine they will have to alter the timetables for a little while until the problems have been sorted & backlog cleared.

I don't mind if it takes a extra hour to get to DLP when i go in 10 days, as long as the tunnel is open i will be happy.

I've got the damn theme tune to 'My Freinds Tigger and Pooh' stuck in my head and can't get rid of it!

I'm back from lunch with my Mam and Robert..... I didn't do photos because the restaurant was a bit too dark for them, but I can tell about what I had!!

We went to a place called Giannis in Morpeth, which is an Italian. We had a £7.50 3 course set menu and it was fantastic............... Robert and me both had spicy chicken wings to start (We got 6!! Thats more than you get at Nandos for a main!) and my Mam had vegetable soup. (The other option for a starter was a tomato and onion salad). For mains we had the choice of about ten pastas, ten pizzas and two rissottos. My Mam had a Pizza Pollo (Chicken and mushrooms) and Robert and me both had a Tagliatelle Carbonara- Really REALLY good!! For afters we had the choice of ice cream or coffee..... My Mam and me both had a coffee (Which was lovely strong REAL coffee) and Robert had ice cream (Again, proper ice cream- Not that yukky cheapy stuff)...... Lovely!! Total bill with four drinks was about £27...... Not bad at all really!! And Robert got jealous because the waiter was saying he liked my 'flower' (The corsage I'm wearing)....................

Sounds good...

I love Italian, but not Pizza and Pasta, which rules out an awful lot of Italian restaurants, which is a shame. My favourites though are either Frankie & Benny's (not true Italian but still pretty good), or even better is Olivo at Port Solent (fantastic setting and also pretty good food, including lots of fish and meat dishes, as well as the usual Pizza and Pasta).

They did have some other stuff......... Heres a menu for a little look!

I think the best Italian in the world is Pinnochios in Barnsley...... It's owned by a friend of my FIL and it's FANTASTIC................. Their salmon tagliatelle is to die for!

Wow, looks good :goodvibes

It's nice to see an Italian restaurant that understands that Italian goes beyond Pizza and Pasta. This is why I dislike Ask, because it's all pizza and pasta

This is the restaurant we are crazy about in Barnsley: http://www.pinocchios-restaurant.co.uk/page170.asp (It's seriously good!!)

My friend is crazy about ASK.... I've always fancied trying it..... But then, I love Pizza, Pasta, Parmesan, and serious quantities of black pepper.......

That also look pretty good :goodvibes

I have a disliking for all 4 of those foods you've just listed. I don't even like the garlic bread at DLRP because of the parmesan on it. You don't seem to be able to order it without either - even when you request "No Cheese", they still add parmesan :rotfl2:

Pinnochios is a fantastic place to eat (I can highly recommend pretty much everything I've eaten there- I love the Calamari starter, Mozzerella in Carrozza starter- Only minus the tomato sauce, Pepperoni Pizza, Pizza Roma, Garlic Cheesebread, Tagliatelle al Salmone Affumicato, Pollo alla Piemonte, and Salmone con Asparagi. Robert loves Bistecca alla Romagna and Tagliatelle al Filetto...... We could probably eat the whole menu between us!).......... Lovely!!! We often pop in a couple of times whenever we are down in Barnsley.............

Lol!! I hope you send it back if it isn't what you like then!

I'm trying to stay calm and collected....

 I'm sure it'll be fine and you'll get to DLRP.

Wait and see what happens in the next few days, then think about booking a ferry and hiring a car towards the middle of next week if nothing changes.

I honestly think that the Tunnel will be open in some capacity by the time you go though.

Mum and step-dad tend to eat it instead. I think I've finally learnt my lesson on this though - every restaurant I've ordered it in they've added the parmesan on.

I don't order Fajitas in DLRP for a similar reason - the cheese is always on top of the meat, rather than in a pot on the side, which would be better because I could just not use it.

I need to stop watching Sky News...it's not good for my health!:rotfl:
