It's our fall break and my best friends are in WDW without us. We were supposed to go with them, but since our son's college doesn't have fall break, we had to reschedule for Thanksgiving week. At least we have this trip to look forward to, but I'm kinda bummed looking at so many of my friends and co- workers pics and we're stuck at home.
So....to cheer me up, does anyone have any pics of the Christmas decorations at CBR?pixiedust:

We must live close to each other (love your roll tide Mickey!). My facebook feed is full of friends at WDW right now. We don't have a fall break where I live now (hoover) so I couldn't figure out why they are all down there. Didn't think about other schools having fall break. Duh! No pictures to share but we'll be at CBR the beginning of December.

20 days til I'm at CBR......getting excited!!:) Mickeystoontown, I'm a La. gal myself, currently living near Houston. I always enjoy reading your trip reports....

Hi all! :wave2:

I'm new to CBR, have never stayed and never really entertained the notion since we are a family of 10, but now with the new murphy beds and the rooms sleeping five, we are super excited to try it out!!

I am having trouble getting any hard or fast answer on when these rooms can be booked, despite people having already stayed in them. I have gotten CM responses that range from "We haven't even started the refurb yet so you can't book them." :confused3 to "You can request it but it won't be a guarantee." None of the answers have been particularly helpful.

So from what I'm gathering, some rooms are done and people are staying in them, they can be requested, but not guaranteed, but no one knows when they will be able to be booked. I am assuming they'll wait until the refurb is done, but even confirming that would be more helpful. Does anyone else know anything more? We are booked for POR in May, but would much prefer to try out CBR.

Thanks to all! :goodvibes

We leave for FL in 2 days and check in to Disney in 5!! Eek!! Can barely contain myself!! Can anyone comment on the weather situation? It looks like the rain has simmered and is about 82? Is it getting chilly at night to need a jacket or sweatshirt? Thanks so much!

I have tried every avenue to book one of the rooms for 5, even speaking to a supervisor. Best everyone can tell the option will not officially be available until the renovation is complete which will most likely be some time between March and May of 2015

I was really hoping to book these new rooms for our upcoming trip in March since we will be a group of 6 (one of which is an infant). I have grown tired of having to always stay at POR if we want to be in a moderate room. People are already staying in them so why can't we book them? So annoying.

Well that's frustrating! Thanks for the confirmation, though!

I have to agree with this! We are pretty much stuck at POR ourselves unless we want to really go up in price, so I was thrilled to hear about this refurb. It's even more frustrating that they will most likely be available when we're there, but nothing can be made of it right now. Well, here's hoping they will finish quickly and be available to book before the trip date so we can try to transfer reservations!

We just got back from our stay at CBR. We had a great time! The resort was full, but didn't seem that way at all. There were plenty of chairs at the pool, and there was only one full bus ride. Transportation was great, and we only had a long wait one time, and that was 25 minutes. We got a refurb room, and loved the Murphy bed. My son loved the picture of mickey and pluto on the wall next to him while he slept. One complaint about the room would be a lack of towels....only 2 hand towels and 2 washcloths, and there were 4 of us. We always got back so late, that I didn't feel like calling and waiting for someone to bring us towels, so we just made it work. My other complaint would be that the linens are noisy! I know that sounds weird but every time someone rolled over, you could hear it! The weather was great, but the parks were packed. I have no idea how October is considered a slow month. There were times where it was shoulder to shoulder. Trying to find a spot one night for the fireworks at MK was a nightmare. They were directing people where to go, so the only place we could get was in front of plaza restaurant with an obstructed view. Very disappointing. Epcot was terrible when we were there too. At the world showcase, it was shoulder to shoulder. Very, very hard to get around. I was looking forward to eating at some of the kiosks set up for the food and wine festival, but it was too difficult to fight the crowd, and then no where to sit and eat and enjoy. All in all, we had a great time. My only frustration would be the crowds and crowds of people.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay at the CBR! We've been at the resort when it was at capacity and I agree that it doesn't feel crowded. Wow, it sounds like the crowds in the parks were heavy. I'm sure that the EPCOT crowds were due to the Food & Wine Festival and maybe the Magic Kingdom was because of the MNSSHP guests. I'm beginning to believe that there's really no "slow" season at Disney any more.

I have an odd question...

We will be there next month in a pirate room with the free dining. I have called for months now trying to get a standard or preferred room with no luck. I don't want to stay in the pirate rooms because of the distance. I have a medical problem where it's hard on me to walk long distances. When I check in, can I ask nicely for a standard room? I know I paid for the pirate room, and I wouldn't mind paying it forward, and let another family have our room. I'd much rather have a refurbished room. Has anyone had any luck doing this?

I don't mind, I just have a preference...

I just looked at the site and the only rooms that are showing as available are Standard rooms with a water view for the week it looks like you're going. Not sure if that means you'll be able to switch to another type of room, but it never hurts to ask!

Can anyone confirm which buildings have been refurbished at CBR to date?

(Apologize if I posted this incorrectly or in the wrong place; I'm a newbie!)

Just got back from a week are CBR. The resort was very beautiful and despite being at 98% capacity didn't feel crowded at all. We stayed in Jamaica 42 in a refurbished room. It was so nice! Walk to Old Port Royale was pleasant but long enough to make us skip some mornings to save time. I didn't care for the distance to the Jamaica bus stop from our building. That walk felt l o n g at night! Mouse keeping wasn't the greatest I had to call a few times for basic items like coffee, coffee cups and soap. But the staff was fantastic and friendly. Kids loved the main pool and the quiet pool. Food was great especially Shutters. DH said it was his favorite meal... even better than Brown Derby!

No signs of sickness. I was so paranoid about that when we left. Brought a can of Lysol and sprayed the room and used hand sanitizer everywhere. We were totally fine. No pinkeye either. .. I was listening to see if anyone was talking about it but nothing. It must be under control so don't worry!

Parks were great last week but definitely picked up this week. Yesterday MK was packed! It will be a few years until we return to WDW. Want to give DH a break and wait for DD3 to be 44 inches. I think I would stay at CBR again and schedule a couple more days to hang around the resort.... something we didn't do enough of this time!
