FYI, the majority of the photos in the info posts on page 1 are not showing up. Most of them are by safetymom and some are from MickeysToonTown.

Quick question: we are driving and I have a small surprise for my dds in one of the suitcases. Is there a way to delay their entry into the room, something to distract them with or something the can investigate or look at, so I can set the bag up? I don't know the layout of the resort so I'm in need of suggestions. Thanks.

I do this every trip. My husband will take DD to the playground, just let her play around in the sand on the beach for a few minutes, or look at the pool. That gives me enough time to set her surprise up. Have fun on your trip!

Weird question here (well my family tells me I'M weird so perhaps it's a "normal" question for me :rotfl2:)

The "glasses" that are (probably) supplied in the bathroom .. are they plastic or glass?? I will need to drink milk every morning and really don't care for plastic (see told you I'm weird!). If need be I'll pop a "real" glass in my bag -- no fear i will cushion it in bubble wrap, I'm not dumb AND weird!! :lmao:

My DH prefers a "glass" for his beverages. He will use a refillable mug at Disney.

Just home from our week at CBR - was going to happily report that we saw no evidence of sickness going around, but DD6 came down with stomach bug on flight home. Poor baby did her best but situation was far from ideal.

Can't directly blame it on the resort - the parks are filled with people and germs like this spread fast. We felt our rooms were well cleaned (we had a fantastic 'mouse keeper' all week).

Hoping it's just a 24 hr bug - we feel fortunate we made it through our week and no one had to miss out.

We loved the pirate rooms but not their location. Resort was at capacity - 4 kids, double stroller, crowded buses and lots of rain made our week a challenge at times. Weather picked up last 2 days which lifted spirits al around until littlest DD got sick. Home now...and hoping no one else gets it!

does anyone know how far along they are with barbados? We will be at CBR December 12th to the 19th this will be the first time for my other family member in a moderate resort and only there second time at disney.

I posted in the transportation board as well, but does CBR have a dedicated bus in the bus system? As in it doesn't share a bus with other resorts?

I remember reading this in a random disney blog I found somewhere that resorts with internal buses do not share them with other resorts. True or false?

CBR has a dedicated bus, I don't know about that as a general rule, but I do know that CBR has a dedicated bus :)

Great :). That's good news to my ears :). I know it's hard to say but would you say the CBR bus is not as crowded as the other resort buses? Particularly at park closing?

Just got back from our first CBR stay today. We were there from the Sep 27-Oct 4. Previously we had stayed at POFQ. We stayed in Aruba 43 in a corner room that was right by the laundry, quiet pool and parking lot. For us it was really perfect because we had a rental car and we washed clothes a few times because it was so hot! We don't really care for daily housekeeping, but we were very pleased that the housekeeper kept on top of getting us fresh towels daily, something that was lacking at POFQ. Also on the positive side it was very quiet and we hardly saw any other guests the whole time we were there even thought it was quite full. Food court is also good and has some great selections.

I would stay here again if I couldn't stay at POFQ, but otherwise I'm just not keen on the tropical theme and the massive size of the resort. They did an fairly good job with the refurb. I work in construction and can't stand when I come across refurbs that are shoddy. They really didn't do too bad of a job with the work, however, I think they didn't do themselves any favors with the flooring selections and the plumbing fixtures. The issue with these items is that they look instantly dirty once you walk on or use them. The plumbing fixtures are especially bad, they look dirty even when they are clean. The furniture is really nice and I love the light fixtures, but I find the curtains to be a bit of a miss for the style of the room.

The other issue is the bus service, to each their own, but it is horrible! We rode to MK one day and that was enough for us! I would rather hoof it in from a parking lot (or take the monorail/ferry) then be on a crowded resort bus any day. It was very nice having our room convenient to parking and the resort was in a good spot that made it easy to get most anywhere.

Oh, BTW no illness here for us two adults other than some mild allergies. I did pay much more attention to washing my hands more often and it sounds like it may have paid off.

Sorry for such a discombobulated post! Just putting it out there! We really did have a good time and the resort served as a fine crash pad when we were done at the park for the day.

Here now... No signs of sickness other than the usual fall coughs and sneezes so far. And those have been very few and I've only noticed a couple of kids coughing at the Parks. So please do not freak out about the sickness :) I sanitized the room with Lysol spray number 3 cause it says it kills the stomach but virus when we first got here and all has been good for us so far. We've been sanitizing and washing our hands a lot just in case but it's not like every child here is sick. 95 percent of them and the adults we've seen have been perfectly fine.

Didn't get our room request in jamaica but we do have a lovely quiet room in aruba that's semi garden slash beach view. And we loveee the refurb.

Weve also experienced no issues with the bus service whatsoever. Most of them haven't even been full. The only time it's to capacity is leaving the parks around when everyone else does but that's expected.

Just wanted to give a brief update to everyone while here. I'll keep you all posted on the sick stuff :) back to enjoying our trip...

Here now! Checked in yesterday and didn't get a refurbished room because they told us those were all taken for the runners but to check tomorrow if we still wanted to try again . We are in Martinique 23. So far walk isn't too bad, kids love the pool, haven't used the buses yet. Too tired too report anymore yet! Lol

Hi,

Are they refurbing all the rooms except the pirate rooms at CBR? Does anyone know when is the refurb scheduled to be completed? :goodvibes

Yes, all rooms but pirate rooms. No scheduled end date, but the permit goes through May 2015. Should be done before then at this rate though.

Anyone at CBR now that can tell me prices for the arcade? I made two countdown calendars one is a treasure chest and each day they pull off a gold coin(which is actually a Canadian loonie) at the end each child will have $40 for the trip. Just wondering how many arcade token that will buy them.

Thanks for the reply :) I'm thinking of booking 4 nights there s part of our August trip, as we are arriving a few days earlier than planned :) I like the look of the refurbed rooms.

Hi all, could someone please tell me if the in-room fridge has a "freezer" in it? My mom has siatica and sits on an ice pack every morning to help relieve the pain. Thank you in advance!

It is just a fridge, no freezer. There are ice machines in each building I believe. Just make sure to pack some zip-locks to make ice packs.
