It is posted on the cast member website as being refurbed for those dates. I just checked again. That is the only site I see it on as well but that is about as reliable as it gets.

I have also called twice this week and was told by 2 different CM's that it would be open during our visit, 9/16 - 9/22. I am going to call on 9/2 and see what they say then.

I know there are often a lot of questions regarding the costs of cabs. We just took one from the Grand Floridian to Building 41 (Jamaica) and it cost 20.40. Just in case anyone needs a reference point for cab costs. I will say after eating a very large meal (on I guess one of the hottest days of the year so far), my DH and I were more than willing to pay that rather than deal with getting back to the Magic Kingdom and catching the bus with the fireworks crowd.

You can have one sent to your village bus stop. If you call and they tell you you have to go to the main building, hang up and call again.

I was so stressed yesterday about changing resorts (was booked at POR) We decided that since POR was becoming so popular that Disney has decided to restrict the discounts. After a long talk with DH we decided to make a switch. Looked at CS but the whole buisiness atmosphere did not appeal to us at all. I did a little research on CBR and was nervous. Found your thread and all my stress disappeared. We will be staying Jan. 25 thru 30. All 6 of us.

I have 3 hours left at work before I am officially on vacation!!! We are taking off Sunday to CBR and I cannot be more excited! I have a pretty painted Minnie Mouse inspired Magic Band and fun Disney nails...I have my priorities straight! My DS9 is very excited for his first airplane ride and real vacation...and he is telling everyone he is going to WDW to go to T-Rex...lol At least he knows what he likes! I am crossing my fingers and putting on my "pretty pretty please face" to get a refurbed room...I will be sure to report back!

I used the touring plans room finder and found discrepancies in their estimates of travel time to Main Building. I went to google maps clicked directions from CBR to the various buildings. Worked much better. Thank you Google.

I was counting down to when my vacation started, but now I can't wait to see what September 2nd holds. Will the pool be closed or not?

At this point in time, we have not made any announcements regarding any
closures to the pool at Disney's Caribbean Beach Resort. We are working
on upgrading some of the rooms, but nothing that will effect the pool
