We did not get to ride an articulated bus in our July trip, but we were hoping to. I only saw them running at MK at closing and after Wishes. A CM told us they hold 150 people.

We are going to be at CBR September 10th-24th :)

Is the walk from standard rooms really that far? is it worth trying to upgrade to a prefered room?

In my opinion, no. I was in one of the furthest standard rooms last September (Barbados 11) and even at a slow walk it only took about 7-8 minutes to get between them. There are plenty of standard buildings that would be a less than 5 minute walk. And the walk itself is so beautiful with the scenery that I look forward to it! I don't think it's a far walk at all, and wouldn't waste the money on booking preferred. It depends though on what you consider a far walk.

It depends on where your room is and where your going and what you have with you

My parter loves to walk so last year when we checked in we were told our room wasn't ready yet and they would text us, we knew it was in Jamaica though, so rather than take the internal shuttle my partner wanted to walk.

The walk from the custom house through the Barbados village to access the lake loop walkway then to Jamaica was long, especially while carrying your carry-ons

However the walk from parking lot Jamaica building to old port royal via the bridge felt shorter then our previous trip where we were in Trinidad north and just cut through a parking lot to walk to old port royal

Our first trip we ended up in Barbados and that walk to old port royal every morning was a pain

It doesn't help that the buildings intertwine with each other so the way you think your going is fast actually ends up being longer.

My first day each trip I try to walk out the fastest way through the village to get to OPR, I usually get it right half way into my trip

I think it is well worth the cost. I didn't pay for it for my stay, and by the end I really wish I would have. Walking in the morning isn't that big of a deal, when you are tired after a long day in the parks it is. I had a refillable mug but at night I never used it. I just went to the pop machine in my building.

I'm kinda hoping we get to ride one in Sept. They sound very interesting.

we had busses like this where i went to college...it was weird to sit in the back and see the front turn the corner and have the bus on 2 diff streets....the middle part was weird too...
they weren't my fave type of bus to ride, but it was a big camps and lot's of students...

I wouldn't want to see a bus come speeding along full of passengers. Scary! I think that it's good that they can't go faster.

They were really neat to ride on. Like dansdad said, try to ride in the back so you can see how the middle section turns.

The back is neat to ride in - we had one 2 weeks ago coming back from MK, except we sat on the seat that goes across the back - and it was very hot! DD was so disappointed because all week she wanted to ride on one and we got one our very last night and she had fallen asleep at the desert party so we wheeled her out in DS's stroller and she never woke up the whole time. The only thing we noted was in the back it was hard to tell which village you were stopping at if you didn't know the direction you came in as there was no announcement and it was hard to see from the back.

I do not like riding in the very back seats of any Disney bus. It's always hot back there!

Oh no, she didn't even get to know that she was riding on one of the new buses.

Our bus drivers would always either verbally announce the bus stops or a recording would tell us where we were. :confused3

I don't know if this is the right place to ask this but this thread is so informative.
We are doing a split stay 2 nights at AK and 7 nights at CBR in Jan, right now we have room only reservation. Do I have to do a 2 day park hopper with the AK reservation and a 8 day park hopper with the CBR one? or could I do a 10 park hopper with the CBR reservation, which would be a lot cheaper? If I can do it that way what will happen if stay, play and dine comes out later? Will I be able to get PSD for the entire 9 nights or will I only be able to get it for 7 nights? Also I believe I will have 2 sets of magic bands, will I have to switch bands when checking into CBR? Sorry I have never done a split stay and I am so confused!

I was thinking the same thing. In all of my bus rides I do not think I have ever encountered someone not telling us where we were. :confused3

You can do a 10 day ticket linked to either reservation.

You would only be able to get it for the number of nights you are in the room that qualifies. So, you may be able to do a 2 PSD at AK and then a 7 PSD at CBR, but you couldn't do a 7 night stay at CBR with a 9 day PSD package.

Also I believe I will have 2 sets of magic bands, will I have to switch bands when checking into CBR?
No. Both sets of bands will work interchangeably.

That night was the only night that we couldn't hear any announcements so it was probably just a fluke.

We will be staying at CBR in Oct. 0215 for the first time. First time on Property also. What is your favorite thing to do at CBR? What is your favorite food there? Wanting to get ideas.
Thanks:)

We don't usually eat at the resort often, usually a snack and maybe one late meal. DH usually gets the cheese steak and I usually go with the black and bleu (provided I remember to ask for no onions) I can report that the pastry selection is quite yummy - even if I usually end up with a bagel and cream cheese. :lmao:

My favorite thing to do is just walk around the resort seeing the various beaches and the Cay, while a seemingly tiny island is chock full of pretty little nooks and crannies, as well as hammocks and a play area. (those are closed at some point in the evening) The coolest (and creepiest) thing that we encountered was a crane hunting at the edge of the lagoon. (you could really see where they totally could be descended from dinosaurs)

I would think the pool would be a draw, especially if you have kids. And the quiet pools even lure us in (DH is NOT a swimmer)

The pool at CBR is the best of the moderate resorts, especially for kids. It is even better than some of the deluxe resorts', in my opinion.

The landscaping is lush, tropical, and relaxing. As long as you are going in decent weather, which you probably will have in October, it's very pleasant to walk around, especially around sunset time when the lights slowly turn on.

Here's an odd question. Since we are from NY we'll be bringing our own bagels for breakfast. :cool1: Does the food court have cream cheese? And if so, is it terribly expensive? Thanks

We are visiting CBR (Jan 9-14) after our 4 night Bahamian on the Dream. Great thread and information.
