Let's see...

Favourite thing to do at CBR:

Grab a coffee from OPR and find a bench facing the sun on the island and just "switch off" and zone out for awhile.

Favourite food items:

The Philly Cheesesteak is quite good.
The salads are pretty OK for what they are.
I've ALWAYS gotten a good steak at Shutters.
DW and I often share a Bounty Platter for breakfast since our likes and dislikes match quite well with that item.

My 2 cents worth. :)

69 sleeps :cool1: getting there :banana::banana::banana:

We have a reservation at Chef Mickey's for breakfast on our first full day, I was thinking it would be safer to get a taxi there so we are not late! My question is - would I get the taxi from OPR or the custom house? :drive:

Hi there everyone, hope you are all enjoying your day. Booked our airfare today on SW- fares were pretty decent and since we are doing split stay with first part at Disney and 2nd part driving from Disney to Pensacola to share the holidays with my daughter I feel rates weren't too bad- they are going up though which is why I wanted to get them now while we can afford it, rather than waiting and hoping they will come down. Starting to all come together, little by little. We are excited to try out CBR- our favorite moderate has been Port Orleans but FD not avail there-so willing to give this a go. It's Disney so I know we won't be disappointed. Love the surroundings and a huge thanks to everyone here for all the great advice and updates esp. re new renovations taking place. Have great weekend everyone!! TGIF

We will be at CBR nov 12th and I was wondering if anyone has ever been there this time of year. Is the resort decorated for Christmas? How about the parks?

Christmas decorations will be beginning to show up at the resorts but the MK will be fully decorated by then because the Christmas parties begin around that time. We once timed a visit around that time where we caught the end of Food and Wine, saw the Festival of Masters art show at DTD, and went to the first Christmas party of the season, all within a few days of one another! It's a great time to go, enjoy! :)

Only 32 days out! We will be staying at CBR for the second time 9/1-9/6. Hoping to get Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51.

We are going at pretty much the same time and also from the far suburbs of Chicago! South and southwest!

I'll be there September 8th and also from the Chicago suburbs! From the south/south west suburbs but living in the north suburbs now :)

Here's an odd question. Since we are from NY we'll be bringing our own bagels for breakfast. :cool1: Does the food court have cream cheese? And if so, is it terribly expensive? Thanks

The food court has baskets of Phili (both normal and low fat), but they don't sell it as the sell a 'package' of a bagel and Phili for $1.69.

That said, if you wanted to sidle into the shop and pick up a couple of pots I don't think they'd stop you. I had to go back and pick mine up as I'd forgotten to pick one up at the time I picked up the bagel, so it just shows how easy it is.

There is plenty of free spread, jam and honey (I think) out near the teabags and toasters as well.

It's probably cheaper for you to bring a carton of your own cream cheese, though, and keep it in your room fridge.

MK will be mostly decorated. They don't put the big tree up until after they fill the parade for ABC.

I've been doing some comparing of resort rates for 2015 compared to 2014. I've posted this on another thread but thought I'd add it here too:

I've only seen a very modest increase for CBR, for 2015.

Comparing the very same week, the second week of November for each year, I chose 7 nights in a standard room, 6 day park hoppers, and the regular Ddp.

2014: 3118.82
2015: 3157.06

All prices are rack rate, no offers of any kind.

I'm thinking I should book something before tickets or dining prices go up! :)

We just booked for 2015, and our overall package was $30 more than what I estimated using 2014 dates - rack rate, no discounts. I was rather pleased. Hoping to apply some discounts later on!

That's not too bad, not as bad as I was expecting.

Please add us to the roster -- Nov 9-15 :)

I had put in a request for Martinique, but now I'm thinking of requesting Jamaica in hopes of a refurbished room!

We always bring our own bagels, and although we have never stayed at CBR, I know POR and all of the values have cream cheese singles and I want to say around .50-.75 ish.

What's the likelihood you get what you requested on the online check in?

It's hard to say. It all depends on how crowded the resort is and how many people requested the same thing.
