Thanks! I was over thinking this by focusing on the pirate room. Geez, unco, there are three/four pirate adventures to sign up for lol. Plus there is MNSSHP for him too. I will give it an honest effort for the 5 in a room, while keeping the condo for anyone else that ends up joining. Boy, this "solo" trip is becoming a family reunion lol.

We opted to not book a pirate room so that we could be closer to OPR and the main pool. We booked the Pirates League at MK instead for our DS, who is 6yo. It's a great substitute for him, and costs less too! You should think about looking into that for your nephew.

Just checked into CBR! We're in Jamaica 41, refurbished room! Funny thing is we actually stayed in this exact room 2 yrs ago! We walked from Custom House over and I noticed they've started on Aruba 51 as well. I'm liking the new room, but it is lacking in storage space. I'm missing the huge storage drawer in the old bench and they did away with the full length mirror on the washroom door. Loving being back:)

Can you post more photos ??? I can't get enough !!!

Love the room pictures!! It's beautiful, it looks more and more like Deluxe rooms!

Who needs to pay for a Deluxe when you get that in the Moderates?

I have to say that looking at those further pictures, they look more like the prospective room views. Having seen the marquetry wood tables, I'm surprised to see the 'steel drum' table in the photo.

What I'd like to see is a decent photo of the standard room (ie not with the Murphy bed) so we know what to expect in the way of room furniture. I also need to know that there'll be room to drive my scooter in and park by the window, as before!

I am trying to figure out the best way to pack without the kids knowing since we are surprising them this time!

Me too! My kids know we're going to Florida, so packing the clothes and normal stuff is no issue- but I have a stash of special stuff just for Disney at work that I have to figure out how to pack without them noticing anything.

Just finished a six day stay at CBR--we were very pleased with our stay --we stayed in Aruba section 55---it was a little walk to Old Port Royale but only about 7-8 minutes tops...Every person was happy and helpful including Mouse Keeping and the bartenders at that pool bar--never waited more than ten minutes for a bus...this has become my son's (9 yr) favorite ---:goodvibes

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Thanks for checking back with us.

Uh oh, my wife is not going to like the mirror being removed. If they give you a survey to take while waiting for the ME or when you get home via email, make sure you let them know that's not cool.:thumbsup2

We are coming to the end of our stay at CBR on Saturday. To update the construction, I asked a worker and he told me Jamaica will be completely finished by this Saturday. As the PP said they have moved into Aruba. After watching for the last 9 days, it seems they are always working on 3 buildings, 1 is set up and tear out, 1 is rebuild, 1 is finishing touches. When I arrived on the 10th they were working on 44, 45, and 46. By the 19th they will be onto 51, 52, and 53. So they are moving fast.

We have greatly enjoyed CBR and will definitely consider staying here with our big music group in July 2016. For just our family trips, we like to try different resorts each time. Our next trip we plan to do a split BCV and VWL in Thanksgiving 2015. Good luck for everyone's upcoming trips at CBR.

I'm glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you again for your updates. It was greatly appreciated. Safe trip home!

Nice to hear some positive reviews. We just booked this resort today for December for water view room- would love suggestions as to what to request room wise that would not be such a horrible walk. Also do any of these rooms accomodate 5th person, I have seen where due to refurbished rooms some do- ?murphy bed or cot. If we request cot does that mean we need the 5th person to book for entire time?? My daughters boyfriend may join us but can only come for a few days. I see where Martinque and Barbados is close to center as well as Trinidad- there were no preffered rooms available to book so we really need lots of great advice. Thanks so much in advance. POR is our favorite moderate but they are not offering the free dining. Thanks for the help

POR used to our favorite until our first stay at CBR! I hope you like it just as much.

Jamaica 45, Aruba 51, Martinique 21, 22 and 23 are the closest non preferred locations to OPR and the main pool. Every village has its own bus stop and quiet pool so you will never be far from one no matter where you are.

So far, every building that has had the refurb completed has rooms with Murphy beds, not cots. Not every room will have it, but they are mixed in with the non Murphy bed rooms.

Make sure you check out the first page of the thread to familiarize yourself with this awesome resort.

Thanks for the update! I was afraid that the storage space would be lacking when the refurb was done. We always used the big drawer in the bench for all of our bulky items. As far as the full length mirror goes, that's something that I can live without and I now know that I can buy one of the over the door organizers.

Sounds like they changed up the way they were doing the refurb. In the beginning, they were doing one building at a time. My husband (works in construction) said that once you get the initial plans down and do it a few times, you can really get a move on afterwards.

Glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay!

We requested Aruba 51 for our upcoming stay at the end of September! Hoping we get our request and get a refurbished room there.

the refurb sounds like it is moving along perfectly for our Dec. trip...looks like the non-preferred rooms are being done first so by the time we get there, odds are going to be great we will get a refurbed room!

Now hopefully they won't try to be nice and upgrade us to preferred...wouldn't balk at a Pirate upgrade, but getting preferred non-refurbed wouldn't be as cool IMO.

This is what scares me. We have a preferred booked for mid Nov. I was told it will be easier with a 3 1/2 yr old being closer to the main bldg. I was optimistic that we would still get a refurb. room but my hopes are dwindling. :worried:

Does anyone know if they are renovating King sized bed rooms as well?

Since the pre-renovated rooms had full beds, we settled for a King bed (its just be and DBF going).

We also requested Jamaica so I am hoping for our trip in December we have a good chance of being in a renovated room!

Yes, the King rooms are getting renovated too. The only rooms that are not a part of this renovation are the Pirate Themed rooms. If you get a room in Jamaica you will have a new room. They have completed all of Jamaica.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, very helpful. I called and requested Jamaica first, Aruba second- looks like there is a bridge we can take over to the center- and it's pretty short walk it appears. Hoping to get a refurb. room I spoke with reservations and lady said none of the rooms with murphy beds have been loaded in their system to book yet- wonder how long this takes? Anyway appears my 5th person can't make it anyway so it will just be my husband and I and 2 girls- which should work just fine for us as we are only there to sleep anyway. Having never stayed at this resort I am anxious to see how it compares with POR- our favorite by far. Oh if anyone has any recent pictures of any of the refurb rooms would love to see what they look like- Thanks again for all the great advice.

There will be rooms in every building that accomidate five (confirmed from two different CM). They are not bookable yet, both said she thought they would be bookable by the end of August. I would think they will be pretty saught after as Mod rooms for 5 are few and far between. If you want to make sure you have one, I would think you would need to have 5 people in your room. But that is just a guess on my part.

How long did it take them to complete Jamaica? Wondering if they'll be done with Aruba by the end of September?
