Thanks Sunday for the info - were you limited to return on the BB during the same time or could you have booked, say, December 2015 with FD on BB?

It was for dates up until October 2nd (I believe).

Minimum 2 day ticket purchase, but not sure about the number of nights required.

Oh, and to clarify...CBR had standard rooms available for my dates, but POR was already down to Garden View rooms and up.

The preferred rooms are not refurbished yet, right?

If they are not what is the advantage of preferred besides location to food and bus?

It is really only the closeness to the pool and food, the bus stops are close by each village

The preferred villages have not been refurbed yet.

The preferred rooms are called "preferred" because of their close proximity to the food court, main pool and the pool bar. They also do the marshmellow roast on the Martinique beach and the movies are shown in the courtyard at Old Port Royale.

Some people would rather have a preferred room but we don't mind the walks from any of the standard rooms we have stayed in.

As far as bus stops go, there are bus stops in each resort village so you are never far from a bus stop no matter where you stay.

I've booked preferred again (stayed in Martinique 25 in February) purely because I want to be able to walk to the food court on my stick and not have to take the ECV.

We have stayed in every village with the exception of the two Trinidad villages. For some reason, we like the village of Jamaica better. No real reason why except for I like yellow and enjoy walking through the island. The non-preferred section of Martinique was really nice too. I forgot to look at your ticker to see when you are going. The village of Jamaica has already undergone the refurb and they are working on Aruba now. From there, they will move on to Barbados, Martinique and Trinidad North with each village taking approximatley two months to complete.

I have pictures of our most recent stay in Jamaica in my trip report. I also have detailed picture and written information about our location, walk to the bus stop, food court, etc. Just click on the link in my signature and go to the second post for additional links.

Would your guess be that if they stay on schedule, most of the standard rooms will be done by mid-January? I'm not at all opposed to Jamaica, but it would be nice to have other options to request for Marathon Weekend. Assuming, of course, they don't decide to "upgrade" me to a pirate room (not an upgrade IMHO due to the bed construction) like last year. In 2014 I was able to be "downgraded", but I got in early in the morning so they had some flexibility. This next time, however, I am not scheduled to land until around 9pm, so options could be limited for changing where I'm put.

While I am not quite a coffee snob, I'm a bit picky. I much prefer a dark or medium roast to a watered down breakfast blend. (I like Caribou or any Columbian roast) Has anyone used the pods they provide? And any idea as to if it is similar to a mild, medium, dark roast? :coffee:

I am guessing more medium roast but I am an plain dunkin donuts (lighter roast) fan so I may not be much of a help.

I am amazed at how much my hubby's caffeine addiction has created so much conversation! Saddest part of this whole saga?? I used to enjoy a good cuppa joe myself but alas ... ulcers + Caffeine = very angry ouchy tummy :( :sad2:

Thanks for all the help ... my latest solution ?? I dug out the dreaded scary "immersion boiler" from the camping supplies!!

We are coming in to the home stretch and will be at CBR soon (our first ever Disney visit - we are from Australia) I can hardly contain my excitement!!! I cant wait for my little girl to be in shock that she is actually at Mickeys House!!

Sorry I had to get some of my excitement out!!!

We will be there for 11 nights and will be celebrating my daughter 3rd birthday with her most favourite people on the planet - Mickey and Minnie!

First time here, and very excited! We leave in 27 days, and are staying in Martinique. My question is which, in everyone's opinion, is a great room number to request? we paid for preferred, and I'd like it to overlook the water. Thanks in advance for your opinions :)

If you paid for preferred, you'll be in Martinique 24, 25 or 26 or any building in Trinidad North. I have stayed in Martinique 25 and 26 and liked both buildings. I believe that there are water views in both.

What was the bounce back offer you received? Was it free dining again? I'm curious - we are definitely hoping for one when we go and will book right away!

I think the bounce back discount offered when you travel in Aug and Sept seems to be free dining for the same time the next year. Last year I traveled the week of Halloween and the offer was the room only discount for most of 2014. These tend to be about 5-10% better than what they will give for the general public discounts on their website. They also have fewer exclusions on resorts, although AOA Little Mermaid is still out, but POR/POFQ were both included.

Also, I was able to change resorts and dates multiple times :rolleyes1 as long as there was still availability under that same offer. I ended up having to release my discount because I had to change my travel dates to the week after Thanksgiving for this year and those dates were not included on the original bounce back offer. Fortunately, Orbitz had a 15% discount that worked on top of Disney's 20% which ended up being equal.

I'm interested in booking one of the murphy bed rooms for next Fall, so the refurb should be completely done by then. However, you can't specifically book for those specific rooms yet. What does your logic tell you for what they will categorize those rooms when you can book? Preferred rooms, like they do at POR?

I am thinking about just booking a Preferred Room now. I know they have refurbed non-preferred so far, but I wonder if the room type will change once it is an option to match POR?

My feeling is if you're a party of 5 you'll be able to book a Murphy Bed room. If you're not a party of 5, they will be request only. Just my feeling though.

Not all the rooms with murphy beds at POR are Preferred. The Preferred buildings are 14, 15, 18 and 27. Buildings 16, 17, 24, 25, 26, 28, 34, 35, 36, 37, 38 and 39 are not Preferred and they all have murphy beds.

Not all those rooms in AB have Murphy beds. We have been in rooms in buildings 14 & 18 without the Murphy bed. We do always choose preferred though as we tried the mansions last time & didn't like the room. Check out www.portorleans.org for tons of info on POR.

First time here. We are 60 day's out.who hoo! Can't wait to see what it's like to stay on-site. My kids are so excited, and can't wait to check out the pools! First time staying at a resort, and this is our 4th trip to disney!
