Good morning CBR fans! I'm back from vacation and ready to catch up. I'll be updating the Beach Bum Roll Call tonight. I will also attempt to answer any unanswered questions too.

Welcome home....well, as much of a welcome that you can have after being on vacation. Back to the real world. :rotfl:

Wondering what our chances are of getting Aruba or Jamaica upon request (this is for my sister's family). They're staying late September. They don't care which building but would really like the queen beds. We have "queen beds" noted on their reservation. And, she checked "Aruba and Jamaica" during online check-in. They booked a water view so not sure how many rooms they have as options from the refurbished villages. They can't wait for their first stay there!!:goodvibes

Am I correct in reading there are no preferred rooms referbed right now. We arrive on October 1 and would love queen beds.

Thanks.

Correct. None of the preferred rooms have been refurbished so far. If you booked preferred, you will still get the double beds.

Hubby needs to bring work laptop with us :sad2: (he has his own business and needs to be able to deal with potential "forest fires") Is there anywhere that we can leave it securely stored? Will bell services take care of this sort of request?? Yeah i know, leave it at home, but unfortunately not an option for us.

So excited -- tomorrow is my on-line check-in date and i can hardly contain myself. Also got my handy-dandy reminder that i can do my FP+ selections too :cool1:

I really don't know her chances but I requested a second floor in Jamaica on my online check in and got my request. In addition I ended up with a water view and didn't pay for it! Hoping for the best for you though!

So I just got back and I really miss it already! This was my second time at CBR and I was in Jamaica (refurbed room!), building 41. I tried to take some pictures of the "details" of the refurb. Some pictures are better than others, but I thought instead of taking pictures of the whole room (which there seems to be quite a few of now), I would try to get pictures of things people might have questions of. I'm pretty new at the posting picture thing so bare with me!

Here is the view from our room (4163):

Picture of the shower area:

Loved the table! Here is a picture of the base of the table:

Here is a picture of the fridge with all our stuff in it...lol. You do get a good visual of what it holds. I was impressed with the size actually.

Okay now the important stuff...coffee! I took creamers and sugar from the food court to keep in my room as I found the amount of sugar in the room wasn't enough.

Disney soaps! Both shampoo and conditioner were provided. I have quite a collection of these now.

I will start another post with more pictures.

Just lost the second post after linking lots of pictures...grrr. I will try again.

Things I didn't like: space under door and outlets that were not switched out and looked old.

Liked the hair dryer though. Worked better than wall mounted ones.

Pictures of safe with water bottle for size reference:

Final pictures for you. Overall, we loved the rooms and even booked another trip for next year: August 20th through the 25th!!!

Clothesline in shower:

Do we know what building is being worked on now? I was thinking of requesting Aruba 52 for Oct trip. I want to be close to OPR and also close to a pool. Is this a good spot?

Based on what I saw last week, I am pretty confident all of Aruba will be completed by October!

So I am a little annoyed that I am paying for a preferred room in Oct and will only get double beds...would make sense to revamp those first? I am paying more! So there are no preferred rooms I could request?

Was way to hot and humid here today to be outside. Spent most of the day reading all posts (151) pages. What an amazing bunch of people. :worship: Thank for all the tips and pics. I just know we are going to love CBR. We will be there Jan 25 thru 30. Hope to be declared a Beach Bum soon. I am putting in room requests for Jamaica 1st choice Aruba 2nd choice, King bed, water view. Hoping my Family of 6 (3 rooms) will all be close together. :dance3::dance3:

We are booked Feb 21-27, 2015! So excited. Requested Aruba 51 or 52. I'm thinking I should add Jamaica 45 to that list. Just made our ADR's for the whole and hoping for free dining or maybe Play, Stay, and Dine. :-) Can you add me to the list?

The preferred rooms are closest to the food court, the main pool, and bus stops. Preferred rooms have nothing to do with the refurb project. In fact, the preferred rooms will stay the same after the refurb project. So you are still getting what you pay for with preferred.

You could always downgrade to standard if a refurb room is exactly what you want. But then you run the risk of being further from the food court, and main pool. BUT just because you make the request of a refurbed room does not necessarily mean that you will get one. If you want queen beds for sure, then perhaps POR or POFQ would be a better fit for you.

So it appears you might have a choice to make. Stay with preferred CBR with no queen beds, downgrade to STD with a chance of getting queen beds, or move to POR/POFQ with a guarantee of having queen beds.

Good afternoon all...

Hubby and I will be spending our 19th Anniversary at the World from Sept. 28-Oct. 9, 2015 (please add us to the roll call). When I called and booked, I booked a package for rooms and tickets (Magic Your Way Package). Does anyone know if a FD offer comes out do I have to cancel my current package and start all over with a new reservation number, or can my current reservation number still be used? It looks like I'm supposed to start booking my dining in April but I don't want to go thru all that effort if it just gets "wiped" with a new reservation.

Thanks!!

Welcome! You're dates have been added. As a PP mentioned, if there is availability at CBR for your dates under the FD offer, they will be able to add the FD discount to your current reservation.

Only 30 days to go!!! I'm wondering, can i request a newly refurbed room when we arrive?

Rooms are assigned 2-3 days prior to your arrival. So I would call the main reservation line and have a room request added to your reservation of "refurbished room".

Does anyone know what rooms in Jamaica have
The Murphy bed? Was hoping to request one
Because we have 5 in our party. Just not sure how
Many do the rooms have them. Also does anyone have
Any pictures of beds and such of the updates rooms:)

We don't know room numbers, but it's best to not request specific room numbers. I suggest calling the main reservation line and add a request of "room with murphy bed" to your reservation. There are links to pictures of the new rooms in post #1.

So I'm over the splash area being closed and moving on - - - -
I noticed that there are play grounds around the resort. I never saw one on our last visit (we stayed in Barbados and we were either in the parks or at the splash zone!!). I see a picture on the fist page of the thread of the playground located on the little island and it looks great, but what are the other ones like? I'm hoping that our little one will like the playground area. It looks like there is one by Jamaica, Martinique and North Trinidad. Thanks! 33 days!!! I have to finish my TShirts and get packing!!

The other playgrounds are very nice as well.

Those water view pics are gorgeous. Well be there in the beginning of October.. I already requested either Jamaica or Aruba in hopes of a refurb room and being close to a possible first bus stop to the parks. We also will have a king room. What's that room number? And any idea if there's any king waterview rooms on the second floor? Or Jamaica or Aruba. I tried to call and request this earlier but they said I had to wait until 10 days before...

Yes, there are at least one king waterview rooms on the second floor in every village.

Whoever told you that you have to wait until 10 days out gave you wrong information. I add our room requests when we book and we usually book 6-8 months out and never had a problem adding them then.
