I know this has been asked many times but I can't seem to find the answers I am looking for. I have read where their is internet hook-ups in the rooms for $9.95 a day. My question is can you get wireless internet anywhere on the grounds of POR? Is it possible to get wireless by the pool, in the lobby, or at the food court?

If I'm not mistaken, it's not wireless. It is $9.95 a day, 24 hours from the point of signing in. You can make it wireless but that would only be for the room. We use Macs, we bring out airport express, that makes it wireless. I'm hoping that as soon as we become DVC members..... 8 days and counting (fingers crossed) that the wireless will get us to the balcony :)

Exactly.... But once again you missed the original question. It was simply anyone request the mansions with 5 and get that request granted?

We are also a family of five and we really want the mansions too. I was told from the front desk at POR that they WOULD NOT put a family of 5 in the mansions due to a fire hazard. They admitted it being done in the past, but they would not do it if there are rooms open in the AB. The CM told me that by making my mansion request, I would lose out on my AB request. We have decided to be safe and just stick with requesting which buildings we would want from AB. Good luck to you. I am in the same boat!

I have requested bldg 14 or 18 for our upcoming stay. It seems that bldg 14 is the popular request with a lot of people. Do you think I would be better off requesting 18 and another building in that same area? My other questios is, does needing a parking spot make a difference in what building they assign you? I'm wondering if it does. Any help or experience would be appreciated!

Some buildings are closer to the parking lots than others, but what do you mean by "needing a parking spot" though? I've never experienced any parking difficulties at all at POR, but a room in building 26 (for example) might be a few minutes walk to the nearest parking space.

We will be renting a car on our last day of the WDW vacation to continue on to other areas in Orlando. I will not need a car during the POR stay since we only use WDW transportation. However, I will need a parking spot for the last day, maybe 2 so I was wondering if asking for a parking spot during online check-in would make a difference in where they assign me? If it does then I won't even request the spot until I get the car. I hope that makes sense!

Just for fun....

we requested AB, close to food court. but I actully think the 30's bldgs are the prettiest with the brick. I don't see much about the 20's they must not be that popular? does anyone like those bldgs?
I don't care about getting 14 or 18...I actually think 27 and 38 both look really nice too.

We will be happy anywhere;)

There is no assigned parking spots. You park where you find a spot. If you need a parking pass, you will be issued one.

I'm sure that this is posted somewhere but my DD & I couldn't find it just now. When you ride the boat to Downtown Disney from POR where do you get off? Thanks :rotfl:

I just called to request a certain area. We arrive Saturday but they can't find me on the system - am I too early to have been transferred over or should I be worried?!

I believe, and I may be wrong,
The boat lets you out by the rainforest cafe at the market place, but I think there may be a shuttle boat that will take you to the west side as well. This is not the same boat you take from the resort, but a different one.

Thanks, I'll be on the look out for the second boat as I need to save all the steps that I can.
